Great little spot tucked away a strip mall. Staff is friendly and courteous, prices are average. They do a thorough job on pedicures. A knock of a star just because it's not really equipped to handle more than a few people at a time. Still great small business read more

Was looking for a local spot in my new neighborhood and found this one in the close radius. The customer service was great -- Ms. Judy herself was very kind, but unfortunately the woman that did my pedicure did a poor job. I went home to realize all my toe nails were cut crooked. I'm not one to say anything anyways but I don't see myself going back again. read more

My wife has been getting manicures and pedicures for years now and thanks to me....she found Judy! I was renting next door to Judy's back then and I mentioned her place and now it's been decades! Well, I am a senior now and it's not that easy to take care of my own grooming and I made the plunge.....and had the whole thing.....'cept the nail polish! Judy back then was a very nice person, and still is, and now I know personally that her work is great too! She's conscientious, personable and it was actually a comfortable and enjoyable experience!! So, you guys out there, man up and give it a try!!! It beats trying to twist, bend and turn yourself into a pretzel to do your own......and I know!! Judy has 30+ years of experience doing nails, and it shows! Her manicure was very masterful and impressive. Her technique is both careful yet fast & efficient. It's a small salon, so next time I will try to make an appointment. I was lucky to have no wait when I came in as a walk-in for my mani-pedi, because there were several calls to make appointments with Judy during my manicure. My spa pedicure was super relaxing - loved the massage chair! I am a novice at spa treatments, and the staff was accommodating and patient with me. Since my visit, I am pleasantly surprised at how long my mani-pedi lasted afterwards. The color selection is beautiful and my visit was extremely comfortable. Reasonably priced for the quality! Went to Judy for the first time today for pedicure and full set with silk wraps. She's so kind and patient and worked a miracle on my extremely damaged and short, thin, brittle nails. I feel so lucky to have found Judy because it is RARE to find a nail place that will do silk wraps. Judy's shop has been open for 24 years and her experience with nails is even longer than that. She's a total pro and extremely detailed oriented. She took extra time and care to make sure I walked out with a strong set of nails that will last. I will continue to visit her for fills and am confident my nails will be repaired under her care. Pedicure was perfect--I'm 37 wks pregnant and haven't been able to touch my feet for awhile and also haven't gotten a pedicure since before the pandemic. Judy's is amazing ! One of the best nail salons in La Mesa ! They are very fast, clean, and affordable ; All important factors for me . I've been getting pedicures here since I could walk lol . They always do a great job and the polish on my toes always last about a month ! It's always so relaxing when I get a chair massage while they're working on my toes and then the mini leg massage during the process is so refreshing . Also they clean the spa chairs in front of you, so you know it's sanitary . My manicures are on point ! I see Judy and my nails are always how I like them . She's great at them all, from square to stilletto shapes ! I love going to Judy's Nails! I started coming here during spring 2016, when I needed to get my nails done for my sorority formals. The location is great and super close if you are a coming from the San Diego State / SDSU area. The prices are also very decent, and a lot cheaper compared to other nail places I have tried around La Mesa. For gel nails, I usually only pay $25 and for the cheapest pedicure, I remember paying about $15. They also just got these new gel nail colors, which are magnetic and so pretty! But these magnetic gel nails do cost an extra $10, so instead of $25 for gel, they will charge $35. I got mine done in black and silver and it was so worth it! I got lots of compliments. (: They also have massage chairs while you get your pedicure done. Judy is super friendly and she will remember you by name. The rest of her staff are nice and friendly as well! I recommend making an appointment over the phone, they are usually busiest on the weekends. Judy will go above and beyond to make sure her customers are satisfied! An example: One time I got my nails here, I had an appointment at 6 pm. Mind you, they close at 7 pm. Another customer at the time came in late for her 5:30 pm appointment, so Judy apologized to me for the delay because of the other customer. Judy still took the time to do my gel nails as promised, and she ended up finishing my nails even though they were already closed!! I believe it was 7:30 pm by the time she finished. If your looking for a place to be pampered then here is your place. The prices are way cheaper than other nail salons and I feel like here they spend way more time on you. I come here to get my pedicures because I can just relax and they really take their time massaging your feet and making you feel comfortable. For a basic pedicure it's $15. I suggest coming during a time when they are not busy. It's a pretty small salon so they don't have many stations. You can call ahead and make reservations. Judy is great too, she really makes you feel comfortable. Most places just send you on your way but she likes to connect with her customers and acknowledges them by their name. read more

It's getting dang hard to reach the ole toenails as we get older. My H noticed this place a few months ago when we were eating at Dylan's Diner, sadly now closed. He used to get the kid to trim his toesies in exchange for whatever it was she currently wanted but she's off to an institution of higher learning now and the situation was getting desperate. He decided to go in and give this place a try. For Pedicure only (he declined the offer of nail polish) it was $14.99 before tip. The results were admirable, I have to say, after seeing the results for myself. His toeses were downright purty, well trimmed and neat. He said they did a great job and he was very pleased. Judy herself was the owner/operator who did the deed so well. He said she and her employee were both cheerful and friendly and chitchatted with him the whole time. They sloughed off the callouses and did the detail work on the nails so he should be all set for awhile and will go back as needed. Now that his feet look better than mine (or not--I've got little size 5 1/2 feet versus his big size 13's!) I may have to go in there and get my own pedicure. (PS I know I'm not the one who went here but he's not on Yelp, or even the computer, and asked me to write a review since he was so happy with the service) read more

Not only are they extremely friendly, and affordable but, their place of business is very clean. Judy and her assistant always do a good job for me. It is best to make an appointment before hand rather than walking in so you'll be assured to not have to wait. My pedicure is going on 3 weeks now and still looks good. I've also tried acrylic nails here and she did a good job. read more

I still visit Judy's faithfully. I met Nancy today who also offers massages. I had THE BEST MASSAGE. this was just for my pedicure. I will definitely be back for a total body massage. And for $65 for an hour? You can't beat that!! I lucked out--Nancy was free after my mani & pedi. Had a 15 min massage. She has the best hands! I haven't had a good massage like that in a long time. After driving by this place numerous times on my commute to work, I decided to give this place a go. I had made an appointment a day ahead for my boyfriend and I for the ultimate spa pedicure this past weekend. When we arrived, the ladies were so very kind. I desperately wanted to love LOVE this place, however it was lacking. Everything was pleasant until my toes were painted that I felt them rushing me out. My polish was not properly dry but the lady tending to my pedicure insisted putting my sandals on, which smudged my polish, and ushered me out. On top of that, the salon is understaffed so my poor boyfriend had his pedicure stopped countless times so Judy could tend to phone calls or customers walking in. It irked me a little bit, but she does have a business to run. After our pedicure, my boyfriend also pointed out the dead skin that was still loosely hanging off his foot and I noticed little red bumps all over my legs where they had applied product. It's pretty clear that you get what you pay for here. Though they are better priced compared to the rest of San Diego, be wary. I think I'll stick to my normal nail place. read more

My first time to have a pedicure here and Cathy did a beautiful job. I was happy to find someone who hands my personal bottle of polish back so I don't have to make a second trip. Cathy was very sweet and she took such good care of my problem areas and each toe had TLC. I will go back to see Cathy again. December 15, I went back again, Cindy did my pedicure. Wonderful service.. Came in about I think around 11. Weren't too busy got some food real quick next door. (Good fish tacos) , then Judy was able to seat me for a Mani. Pedi.. Didn't get out of there till 1240 becuase they we're able to take their time. I really enjoyed the rest. Both feet and hands we're coated 3 times . Good massages. Paid about 55 including tip becuase I felt they did an amazing job. Very accomidating very sweet. Exactly the pamper I was looking for. I will be coming back:) read more

Three words sum up this shop: CLEAN, PERSONABLE, CHEAP! I'd like to start by saying I am a very picky person when it comes to ....well anything really! I have been to about 4 nail salons in the past 16yrs. (Judys being my 4th) Tranies which is close by, I have went to her for years! Great people, very personable, although I enjoy my time with her, her prices started to rise; and in this day in age, lets face it we are all looking for more bang for your buck, BUT still quality...am I right? I couldn't leave a tip because that would be pushing it. The people were very friendly. But way too much! Then I had to sit with my feet under the lights to dry. Usually the pedicure is done first than your manicure so by the time your nails are done so are your feet. And not being able to enjoy the experience of being able to just sit without crossing my arms over for the manicure.

No service rendered, no flexibility offered, no attempt to do the right thing. That tells me everything I need to know. This is a business that values squeezing $80 out of a customer over showing even minimal decency. Short-sighted, tone-deaf, and not the kind of people I'll ever do business with again. Enjoy the $80. Karma has a way of keeping score. Follow-Up: I received a response from the owner attempting to justify what happened, but it completely missed the facts. This wasn't a case of someone trying to misuse credentials in a typical sense--it was a one-on-one appointment that was already booked, paid for with credits, and ultimately went unused. My wife showed up, explained the situation clearly, and was still turned away. No service was provided, yet the credits were kept. Comparing this to standard "no sharing accounts" policies is a weak and inaccurate analogy. This situation called for basic judgment and a small amount of flexibility--neither of which was shown. The owner's response only reinforces my original impression: this business is more focused on rigid policies and protecting a minor dollar amount than on treating people reasonably, even under exceptional circumstances.
