Not happy about my experience here. I remember the times when I used to come here and the service was so good. Now, it's so busy, and I feel based on my service today, it was terrible. And, I hate to say that but it's true. I called to find out what a basic manicure was priced at and that was what I wanted. I asked the girl if there was availability this afternoon and she said yes. I told her I was approximately five minutes away. I was looking forward for my manicure today, however, they never gave it to me. When I sat down she began to file my nails rapidly like it was a race. Then, she started painting my nails. I knew at this point, I was not getting a manicure. I was so upset that I did not want to say anything It's not my job to babysit the workers who get paid including tips from their clients to tell them what service i needed . It was spoken about clearly, a basic manicure! How can anyone misunderstand that? So, she proceeded to paint my nails, and I paid and left a very unsatisfied customer. The receptionist on the phone needs to make sure she is accurate so clients are getting what they ask for or why bother answering the phone. Obviously, there is no reason to return. read more

I just wanna say that this is my first time here and sadly I won't be coming back (unless I find another nail tech artist who actually listens to my needs). I only went to this place because I heard good reviews as well as it's the closest to my home. So I walked in having high hopes, and I even brought up a reference picture. After checking in for my appointment for a gel-x fill, I went to go see my nail tech and I went to say hello but she didn't say hello back. Whatever. So then I showed her my reference photo and I want all white. Now I understand if I couldn't see the flowers if it's the same white nail color, which is why she suggested a different color that I didn't even ask. Not even like a white purple/blue color just so we can see the flowers better. Also, I know I should've spoken up more, which I had three times that I want to be a classic white French tip with daisies. But she insisted on using a shade of purple that I didn't even ask for. But not only that, but I feel like she couldn't speak English fluently because half of the time she was speaking to me in full Vietnamese, which I had a hard time communicating. I honestly felt a bit peer pressure to have a nail design that I didn't exactly ask for and that's what I'm very disappointed in. When my nails were done, she then prompted me to go wash my hands, but never told me where it's at or didn't even point where the sink was so I had to ask another employee to find the sink. Now I don't mind the nails design itself if it was done better, even though I have spent $65 on it and honestly during the whole appointment I kind of felt uncomfortable even though I did speak up, but just not enough then I should have, but it also doesn't look like the picture I wanted it. I'm pretty disappointed with my appointment and I will not be coming back unless I have another nail tech who I'm pretty sure will do my nails more nicely design wise. This is why communication is very important during any nail appointment and I thought I have communicated my needs, but I guess it wasn't enough to the point where I was peer pressured to do a nail design that I don't even want. read more

I've had better gel manicures and spa pedicures in the past. Loan, did my pedicure today and that turned out pretty good. The gel manicure, not sure the lady's name, but she was nice, she was in a rush. I came in with my nails pretty even and shaped- now they look uneven minus the thumbs. I let them grow out just for this experience and now some are bumpy, short, polish so close to cuticles that are now also uneven- looks a little sloppy to me and I dont have high expectations in general, but gel manicure was below standards for me. I didn't have an appointment with one of the more experienced folks- so I got what I got, and left. read more

Came here for a regular manicure and pedicure for the first time. The place was nice, clean, and full like a typical nail salon. My nail tech did a great job with cleaning my nails and applying polish. I chose the citrus deluxe pedicure and it was wonderful. I noticed the nail techs turn on a timer when they do the massage to make sure they're keeping track of the extra time. Recommend! read more

This is my go to nail place when I'm in East County. I've never had bad service, even during a busy time they never rushed my pedicure. My go to pedicure is the Margarita pedicure, the extra massage time is real nice. All massage chairs are fully functioning, which is nice because the chairs can make or break the visit. read more

I wish I could give this place **0 stars**. The staff is unbelievably rude, and the customer service is terrible. They may have a new, fancy location, (that I heard about)but they should spend less time worrying about appearances and more time improving the quality of their service. Every appointment feels rushed for absolutely no reason. If you know you have another client coming in,And before anyone says it's just me it isn't. I've heard the same complaints from multiple people. A nice building means nothing when the staff is disrespectful and the service is consistently disappointing. I won't be returning, and I definitely can't recommend this place to anyone looking to be treated with respect. read more

I came in willy-nilly for a pedicure while I was waiting for my wife to get one, and I came out more satisfied that I expected. I had an amazing experience, especially with the level of detail and how they pamper you. The first thing they do is make you feel at home by offering you a complimentary drink. Even though it's a small gesture, it has a huge impact on experience. I wish other businesses could learn that it's the little things that elevates the experience from "meh" to "amazing"!! I got the cucumber special, and it was amazing from start to finish. The whole process felt tailored from the water cocktail all the way to the massage. Even though it was busy, we had the pleasure speaking and seeing Mimi the owner. The way she ran the business was like watching a small symphony. Went in for a pedicure on July 3rd and the next morning after my shower polish came off on two nails! With it being the holiday I can't even go in to have them fix it. So upsetting knowing I paid for a service that fell short. I asked for regular polish and have never had regular polish peel off like this. I'm thinking the technician used gel polish but since it wasn't cured it peeled right off. I haven't gone to this place in years but decided to give them another try. I had a recent bad injury that has caused me to struggle with getting my nails done. My feet are swollen and scarred. The ladies at Eva Nails were incredibly understanding and Kevin who answered my call offered a Chinese herb soak for my swelling. It was a lovely and accommodating experience! I will be back. I came To get my acrylic nails removed. They ended up ripping them off one by one with another nail, which was pretty painful. I thought they were going to soak them and gently remove them and it left my real nails underneath super broken, super brittle and very, very sensitive. I have been getting my nails done here for years now, I always recommend them to people. However, as of recently the service has gone down by a lot. They used to be so friendly and always talking to me, but now they are very rude, rushing while doing nails, the nail techs yelling at each other from across the room which makes the experience less peaceful when it is supposed to be my relaxing time. Some of the nail ladies are still very nice like Ivy, Jessica, and Kim. However, the men there are very rude and not welcoming at all. The nail quality is poor, and mine always end up breaking after a week which should not be happening at all. The polish has chipped a few times, and I always have to go back to fix it. They are all just very rude and not an environment that I would like to be at. It is very chaotic and it is very sad because I used to love this place. read more

Worst experience I have ever had. First off I wanted builder gel and I told the lady to not file my real nails a lot and that's exactly what she did . When she put the first coat of builder gel and had me put it in the uv. When I did it was burning my nails really bad . I told her and she dismissed it. When she started filing my nails she was filing my skin as well and when I told her she dismissed it again so I was like whatever even though it was hurting bad. Then finally she cut me and I started bleeding and when she saw my blood she literally wiped it with her bare finger covered in dust and God knows what. I told her to wipe it she said there's no blood it's fine. I was disgusted I had to tell her 3 times to wipe it and she didn't until I told her the fourth time. She put alcohol on it then immediately wiped it again with her bare fingers . Then after my nails were done she put alcohol again on them then wiped them again with the dirty towel covered in dust that was under my hands. This place is extremely unsanitary I don't recommend coming here if I could give it 0 stars I would. When I got up to pay I told the lady at the front desk about it and All she said was I'm sorry about that and did nothing about it. Not to mention I went with my mom too and the lady doing her pedicure pulled her skin so bad it was bleeding and she had to get another lady to fix it for her. And even after she fixed it she kept cutting her cuticles and underneath her toenail which was already injured from her pulling the skin. And she didn't just pull it she yanked it. Beware if you come here, there are some really good people but that's about 3 people out of about 10 people working there. They care more about speed than efficiency and proper customer service. read more

I have officially fallen in love with builder gel manicures thanks to Anne for doing them last time. Never again will I glue a fake nail to my real nail again lol! 10 years of doing my nails and I'm finally letting my natural nails grow out. Peter did my builder gel French manicure today! Then one of the nail techs was very angry at the receptionist (who is a young white girl) and was going around pointing at her while clearly talking about her and being very unprofessional. My nails are thick and nothing like what I wanted. Their cat eye does not cat eye at all. My daughter did hers too and I was told to pay before her nails were done. Our appointment was at 3. Nail tech didn't start on us till 3:35! And my design "takes too long" - there was a response but I didn't feel it was fair. Yes - it was offered AFTER I was told it will take too long and I felt like I was a bother. My daughter's nails were nice. Terrible service, my entire appointment took 30 mins for regular manicure and pedicure, my finger nail cuticles were not cleaned, both nails and toes were not shaped properly I could have done a better job at home. And the lady I had (Loan) would not let me put a white color on my toes because it's 'too light'. First time trying this place. I'll definitely never come back! read more

This place is the best nail salon l've been to in SD. I got my nails done today and I am obsessed. This is honestly one of my favorite sets I have ever had. Mimi did my nails and she was so attentive to detail. The salon was super clean and well-kept, and I was offered something to drink when I arrived. Everyone was friendly and welcoming from start to finish. Prices are reasonable for the quality of service, and I definitely feel like I got great value. I have been coming here for almost a year now and it a great experience every time. I always see Evy now when I come for my nails. She does an amazing job on my nails and gives an excellent massage with her pedicures. Sometimes I have a photo of what I would like and she makes it better. Then sometimes I let her pick the designs and they are amazing. My kids and husband see Jenny or Lyly mainly of the other Ladies for their manicure and pedicures and they are just as great. Can always get in when we want. Have learned Wednesdays are the next days to come if no appointments. Everyone here's is amazing. read more

I've been going here for years, and the quality has just gone down lately. The services are rushed, and there is no focus at all on the health of your nails. I won't be going back. The past couple times I tried to keep it simple and just get a gel manicure, hoping that would be safe. I left today with uneven, rough textured, spotted nails. The technician kept double checking my nails- and when I got into the sun it was obvious why. (See photos) so the fact that she knew how bad they looked and still charged me... it's time to find a new salon.- I was there yesterday (5/22) around 3pm. He has a LOT and I mean a lot of hair. He has the middle part style but it's never really been cut right- we have tried 6+ places. His usual guy is 20 mins away and is always busy. So I was hoping to find something local. The vibe is very modern and artsy. Super clean. They did promos that got you walking into the businesses next door which I thought was very neighborly. We rolled the dice and booked with DMO. I was happy to see he also had very thick hair and styled it in a way that I knew would make my son feel comfortable being in his chair When we got here they welcomed us right away and were super friendly. They were a little hectic, he was seated 15-20 minutes late. Lots to look at and music on so we were fine. I'll come update the results when we leave!! So far, we would definitely return!

The shop was clean and the crew were welcoming offering snacks and drinks upon arriving. I felt right at home immediately. I was a walk in and got paired up with a new barber from Houston, Evan Giron. He killed it, both with the fade and with good convo. I'll definitely will be back and encourage folks to come out and support this new local shop. They are having a grand opening on April 19th, 2025. Check out the photo for info.

I also had to zelle the tip to one worker for her to give to another worker.. I hope the tip got to the right place. Idk. 3. My friend kept saying she did NOT want gel, and was being pretty strongly harassed about how she should get gel. The worker said that gel was better for her, that she had ridges in her toenails and that regular polish wouldn't look good.. my friend said her podiatrist told her not to get gel anymore due to an allergic reaction, and the nail tech said 'no you're wrong regular polish will give you a reaction'. Then finally right before applying the polish said 'I'm going to give you gel, ok?" I had to step in and be like 'shes not getting gel, and if you put gel on her we're not paying for it'. It was so awkward. 4. The guy that was painting my pink and white toes kept getting the pink color on the white tip, and I had to ask him to clean it up, and he was getting visibly frustrated. One woman had to translate for him and she even apologized to me, and had to show him how to do it. This man has done my toes before without issue, so seemed to be a really bad day for everyone there. Awkward. Again.

She put the right amount to accentuate my eyes since I told her I didnt wanna look like my eyes had wings to fly away so she did a classic look. Not too long and not too short. I also had gone back the following week for a facial and oh my, it felt amazing! My face felt the best I have ever had it in YEARS. I have super sensitive skin and nothing she used broke me out (so far). She's such a sweet lady and doesn't make me feel pressured to buy or do any services that I dont need. I arrived at 8:45 am and was welcomed by receptionist and informed her that this was my first time ever having microneedling. She reassured me that I made a great decision. I was then taken into a room for pictures of my skin. After the pictures I was taken to the procedure room and did my medical assessment by zoom with the physician assistant. After being cleared the receptionist brought me a bottle water and advised me that Perla had just arrived and she would be in momentarily to go over everything. I waited less than 5 minutes and Perla came in and we had a great conversation about what I wanted to achieve with my skin and my problem areas. Perla then put numbing cream on my face and advised that she would leave it on for 15 minutes. I was really impressed because every question I had about the process she answered and explained everything step by step. After the numbing cream she cleaned my face and put on an astringent and began microneedling. I thought it was going to be painful and that I was going to bleed. It actually tickles in some areas of the face and neck but I did have a little discomfort on the forehead and nose area. After it was over Perla did show me the areas that I had some redness but stated that would go away within a few days. Perla also advised me to use tinted sunscreen and gave me her recommendations on how to care for my skin. I immediately seen a difference and will be scheduling another appointment in 6 weeks for another session. I was really satisfied and highly impressed! Oh! I almost forgot after my service was over I was trying to redeem my Groupon deal and the Groupon site was having problems. I tried to access it several times and the receptionist tried on her end to access the site and nothing was happening. After 20 minutes the receptionist inquired if I would allow her to stay logged into my Groupon and she would take care of it and call me once the payment cleared. I felt bad for leaving unsure about the payment because I had never used Groupon and wanted to make sure that the business was paid for my services. About 10 minutes after I left I received a call from the receptionist that the website was up and running and she was able to redeem the Groupon payment. This was a bonus for me that I patronized an excellent business! I will definitely be back for future services! Thank you Bare Skin Beauty! You're wonderful!

I'm not sure if it's the products being used, the application, or rushing, but for a mid-to-high price range, I expected better consistency and attention to detail. I was also told it was due to my natural nails, but I've had my nails done at other salons and never experienced these issues, so I don't believe that's the case. I really appreciate their willingness to fix the work, but I'd prefer a place that gets it right the first time without needing adjustments. Especially since those adjustments aren't the best either... Getting your nails done should be a fun, relaxing experience, not one where you're worried about the outcome each time.

*UPDATE:* After seeing this post, the owner VERBALLY ATTACKED me and called it "bullshit" that I post a bad review in front of quite a few guests. She then would not accept the gift card SHE provided for the poor service I had previously received. I hate to break the news to you, but Yelp is a public platform for people to post their experiences and unfortunately much to your dismay, all my experiences here have been awful. The problem is you don't honor appointments in the greedy attempt to see as many guests as you can. Leaving guests who have booked appts waiting 40 minutes because you decided to squeeze a walk-in guest in front of them is a blatant disregard and lack of respect for everyone's time and money. Then the walk-in guest receives a RUSHED, SLOPPY pedicure/manicure. Yes, if this happened 2 or even 3 times I'd be understanding. But it's EVERY TIME and I have been on both ends of this. There is clearly a serious problem with the way this business is ran. Judging by the temper tantrum and meltdown you had in front of guests for me posting a review i don't predict you'll be in business much longer! Mia is hands down the BEST nail tech I've ever had! Not only is she incredibly talented, but she's also the sweetest person. You can tell how much she loves what she does because it shines through in her work every single time. I love getting acrylic tips with nail designs and nail art, and every time I bring in a new design, Mia absolutely nails it (pun intended!). Overall: Sandy did my nails and she was wonderful! This salon was busy and they still managed to squeeze in walk-ins (me, my friend and other customers) with very little wait time. Everything was nice and clean. Prices are reasonable. I would make them my regular if I lived in the area. Nails: I don't think I've ever had a full set of pink and whites finished so quickly and still look perfect. I am pretty particular about shape and length and didn't have to point out any nails that needed more filing. My cuticles were pretty trashed when I came in and she was still able to be thorough without hurting me or making me feel judged. My nail beds are usually tender after too and not this time. Thanks Sandy! I didn't catch the name of the manicurist my friend had but she did a great job also and seemed very sweet. Other: The pedicure stations looked cozy and seemed popular. When they speak Vietnamese I feel like they are talking crap about their clients. It's very awkward and rude especially because they will look at you and laugh. I noticed they now cover their tanks with plastic liners, which is concerning because they didn't used to do this. Makes me Wonder why they are doing it now? I'm giving this place one star because the technician that did my pedicure cut my toe nails too short and caused me to get an ingrown nail. Additionally, I think their prices are way too high. I will say I was a walk in and only had to wait 5 minutes to get seated, so that was nice. However, had I known what a terrible job the technician was going to do I would have walked out and gone elsewhere. I will not be coming back to this place and can't say I would recommend. read more

I had a great experience at this nail salon. I came in for a pedicure and was really impressed with the service. The staff were friendly, professional, and made me feel very comfortable. The staff are licensed and were very gentle, especially with cuticle cutting, which I've had bad experiences with at other salons. The salon was clean, relaxing, and my pedicure turned out amazing -- they paid attention to detail and didn't rush. Honestly, I could have fallen asleep because I was so relaxed. I got #12 on the menu and I felt very pampered! The massage chair was great and they offered me complementary drinks. I left feeling refreshed and very happy with the results. Came here from a Gift-card for a manicure and was very pleasantly surprised by both the service, quality experience and customer service provided by May. May has extreme attention to detail and is very precise. The nail shop is super clean and everyone here is very friendly. They are very helpful and professional in their work. This place treats its customers with the utmost care and provide the best customer service. I'm very satisfied with all the people here because their skills are amazing. This place is a hit or miss depending on which girl you get. I came in on Sunday for a pedicure and the girl who did my pedicure was very quiet, meek and skinny. I told her to be careful when cleaning my cuticles because I've been cut before and she said "okay-okay". So as soon as I finished asking her to be careful she cuts me and it hurt a lot and she just kept going. I understand that it was an accident and things like that happen all the time, but this technician seemed very slow or perhaps she didn't understand english. She barely massaged my legs, although I got the $35 pedi. Overall, the salon is clean and I enjoyed the relaxing chair, but can't say I will be coming back. read more

I just visited Eva Nails recently on my birthday with my mom. We used to go to another place, but I searched online to try and find a new place to try. Eva Nails was the first nail salon to show up with great reviews and they didn't disappoint. It was clean and tasteful inside with nice decorations and comfortable massage chairs. They gave both me and my mom great manicures and pedicures and were very, very friendly. They even served us beverages. Sandy waxed my face and eyebrows and was very thorough, making sure I looked and felt great afterward. I love that when it's the holidays, they have 10% off coupons. I believe they get sent to you, if you're stay around the neighbor hood. Anywho, I came in on a Tuesday and it was pretty busy, which is shocking cause it was raining. I guess everyone had the same idea as me! I got a pedicure and a fill. I asked for same time but they were too busy so they had to do it separate, which I completely understand. I don't remember the ladies names but they both gave me a relaxing time there. I had high hopes for Eva Nails, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The staff seemed disinterested, and the quality of the nail work left much to be desired. I wouldn't recommend Eva Nails to anyone. The overall experience was far from satisfactory, and I felt like my money was wasted on a subpar manicure. Eva Nails was a terrible choice. After a busy week, nothing better than go and visit my friends from eva nails, I get there, they instantly recognize me and without appointment they invite me to sit and relax in one of their massage chairs, getting a pedicure with their lovely music and a glass of wine in hand. I went there for the first time, today, and I got a mani/pedi. I must say that both the mani and pedi were terrific! I have had many good manicures at other salons, but it is hard to find a great pedicure -- this was it! I splurged and got one of their special ones, and it was delightful! My first time here at Eva Nails! I have been looking for a great nail place and finally found one. I will not look anymore. The sweet Woman names Ann did mine and she did a great job on coffin nails and her free style snowflakes. Most of all she went out of her way to find my color I wanted for my birthday. Truly love Sandy at Eva Nails. I went for my first time there and asked for ombre and they were not done correctly. Since I walked in without an appointment, I was given a random nail artist. I went back the next day and explained that I was very unhappy with how they turned out. Even though Sandy is usually too booked to take walk-ins so she never does, she took me to ensure that they would be fixed correctly and she did a wonderful job. On top of that, the fix was free of charge and she did not even allow me to tip her. Definitely found my new nail place, and new nail lady! read more

Every paying customer deserves good service, regardless of how small the service is because i didn't have time for a full pedi today and was going to return tomorrow. It's unfortunate because every other experience was great, but after being treated this way over a simple acrylic removal, I won't be returning.
