This salon was nice for a basic and cheap pedicure. If you're someone who isn't fancy about your nails but just want a little pampering without breaking the bank, this is a good place to try. It's a bit more old-fashioned - instead of folders of colors to choose, you select from their wall of polishes, many of which looked old. They have lots of well-worn towels and mismatched decor, so it looks a little rundown. But the ladies were nice and efficient. I went with my teenage daughter who doesn't prefer cutting her cuticles, which they respected. But then didn't offer any massage or scrubs for her either, which I was surprised by. The lady who did my pedicure offered a really great massage and scrub. Overall, it's a great time if you're looking to save on the experience and lower your expectations compared to other salons. Christine did my nails, she made sure she understood what I wanted and really took her time and asked if I liked what she had done or what she wanted me to do. Usually I go to santee to get my nails done but it's always rushed and uneven and they don't make sure I absolutely love it and 1/2 the time has those little fuzz hairs stuck under the finishing gloss. But Ohana nails definitely left my nails EVEN AND CLEAN . I really appreciate this place and will probably make it my new regular spot! I am so happy to have found Hellen! The thing I appreciate the most is that they don't double book and they're very cognizant of respecting my time. They do both a pedicure and fill at the same time. I have absolutely no patience and a pretty strong case of ADHD and sitting in the chair is super hard for me. Hellen is super fast! They get me in and out and I love that. I was in the salon and she had changed her appointment on a very busy day and they were trying to accommodate her but it seemed she was very entitled and rude at her baseline. SHE wasn't respecting the spot she had put THEM in by changing her appt time at the last minute. She also seemed to be looking for an excuse to reduce the price of her services! Totally disappointing as they have such a good overall rating. First impression was that they were rude & abrupt upon me walking in. Not welcoming & did not seem like anyone wanted to be at work that day. Salon is average to below average in looks. I asked for mani & pedi. They started doing both while I was in the pedi chair. This is normally nice but I have a shoulder injury and told them I could not keep leaning to one side. They listened but I'm pretty sure they thought I was just being a pain in the ass. In reality, I was in pain! Finally at the very end it was noticeable that the French manicure had come out awful as they didn't take all the color off to begin with. I would have absolutely not gone on my date w nails like that. They painted over them with pink and it looks better but was definitely a workaround. They offered to redo them another day as I had to leave but I would rather keep as is than go back in. Attitude in the salon was sub-par and I felt uncomfortable multiple times. Update: I am at the doctor's office and being prescribed antibiotics. One nail fell/ripped off my finger after about 5 days - never had this happen so soon after! I had the worse pedicure Ive ever had today at Ohana. I think the person who did my pedicure has not been doing this for very long. She cut my one large toenail very short and then tried to file it. I had to tell her to stop because she was filing my toe. When she put my shoes on, she screwed up the polish on my toe. Unfortunately, I didnt see it until I got home. Luckly, I brought my own polish. I would have gone back, but I had to be somewhere and didn't have time. After trying three different nails salons in the area (some more than once even), I literally drove by Ohana and walked in. It was a wonderful experience and since I had nearly broken my left thumb nail entirely in half, it was glued nicely and the gel polish was applied perfectly. Hannah was also lovely to chat with and that always adds to a good experience. However, because the break was so bad and I had proceeded to break my other thumb nail almost in half a week later (I was hiking/climbing rocks and am a klutz) I went back in again. At this point, Hellen, the owner, kindly recommended that I go ahead and get the powder fills; that way we weren't weakening my nails every time I wanted a polish change and it would allow those broken nails to grow with protection. Anyway, this probably isn't a new idea to most anyone but having no prior experience with nails except bad ones, I am thrilled with my strong nails now! I am now a returning/becoming a regular client and am so happy to have found a competent place that doesn't overcharge and will fix any issues for free. Also, when sitting in the salon, many other clients come in who I can tell have been coming here for a long time because they are so happy with the service. read more

Got dip - didn't know how to remove my set before applying new powder. I inquired - was told the way that she was removing it was a faster way - it took over 30 minutes to remove it - so 3x as long. AND she soaked my fingers in acetone!! The correct way is to wrap the nails. Then a base coat was not applied. She got powder all over my hands - think nail polish on fingers. Then she did them incredibly thin like a gel polish - chipped in less than 24 hours. Nails also were not the same length - I wanted to leave so I didn't ask her to make them even. I think the people that have reviewed this place with high rankings haven't had their nails done before. read more

I went to Ohana and Hellen did my fill. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I picked out the polish from the plastic nail samples and it was the exact color as my picture. I was also having a pedicure done at the same time and was having my toes painted pink. Hellen painted my nails white and then put clear with glitter over the white. She should have used the gel that was the sample I picked. On the left is what I wanted on the right are my nails. I was very disappointed. No, I was never told that you did not have the color. You had the little plastic finger sample with the color. If you would've told me that you didn't have the color and you couldn't do the picture I would have chosen something else. I don't think that you should have samples of things that you don't actually have. I showed the picture and she just shook her head yes and didn't really say anything. read more
