We dropped by Diamond Cafe a few hours before our flight while visiting some friends in the area. We were a bit in a rush so we're looking for something quick but still wanted to have a proper breakfast before heading out. Diamond Cafe was a perfect choice! The owner was super friendly and helpful, accommodating any ask we had for our group of 6 adults and 4 young kids. The food came out super quick and was really delicious. I had the vegetarian omelette and my wife had the bagel with hummus, both tasted great and were very well prepared. We were obviously a bit in a rush but it looked like a great neighborhood hangout I'd you have more time to enjoy a laid back breakfast or brunch. We saw some folks nibble on their brunch while being immersed in their book. Food and atmosphere were great but the excellent service alone deserves 5 stars for sure! read more

This place is good and service it good. I found a hair in my food and they replaced everything immediately. I ordered a Denver omelet and a crepe which is too much food for one person as portion sizes are huge. A meal for two cost around $55 which is a lot. Granted we ordered 4 dishes and coffees so you can get less but flavor is a win as is customer service. There is a tiny bathroom in the back you can use. The place gets busy around mid morning so I would come before to enjoy a relaxed meal. read more

Disappointing. The Eggs Benedict were the worst I've ever had. Everything was pretty much raw. The English muffin was not toasted, the ham was hardly cooked, and the eggs were too runny, even though they should be a bit runny. Plus there was no usual tomato. Also the service was poor and it wasn't clear if we were supposed to go inside and order or if we were going to be waited on. I asked and the guy said he would come out but he never did, so we finally went inside and ordered. It wasn't a very busy time either (12:30 pm on a Saturday). read more

My biggest issue with this place is the no laptops/no wifi rule (which is fine tbh) but why is it showing up at the top of my search when I'm looking specifically for a cafe with wifi? Not sure why it's doing this but I'm certain it's the number of reviews that say no wifi and yelps archaic search only understands basic search terms and nothing complicated like filtering out reviews that are in the negative. I think this is a really nice café, though probably not amazing enough for me personally to rate it as a favorite 5-star place. A friend and I ended up getting breakfast / brunch here after foolishly thinking we could show up down the street at Griddle Fresh for a late brunch without waiting an hour TT__TT. So sad, sighhh. But Diamond Cafe was a pretty good backup. First, parking in the neighborhood in Noe Valley isn't super difficult to find, so that was super convenient to start. Second, this place wasn't completely crowded around 11:30 on a Sunday morning, but was definitely buzzing. They have quite an extensive menu, and are super nice. Personally, I got the Chorizo Scramble, which came with potatoes and tortillas. My friend got the Chicken Pesto crepe. I kinda wish I got a bit more food with the scramble, but regardless, it was really delicious and filling *enough* so that I wasn't sad lmao. My friend's chicken pesto crepe was DELICIOUS though. Would probably recommend that. Anyway, I had a good solid breakfast/brunch here. Would definitely come back for a lowkey morning. It's a nice shop. read more

This is a sunny, delicious corner cafe. I like it because it close but not too close to the busiest parts of 24th Street. Less traffic, walk-able, and easy parking if you are driving. They are a small business and have great staff. Our favorite is the chicken pesto crepe. They are still open during COVID for counter service. Great neighborhood spot right on Diamond. Tried two basic things Pancake breakfast with eggs and bacon: pancakes were kind of dry. Croissant french toast with chicken apple sausage and eggs: french toast was great, but man, croissant french toasts?! YES. Love it. The chicken apple sausage was great too. The egg whites I got were kind of mangled. So all in all, I'd try something like this again even though this one was a little odd. Pastries from City Baking (?) in the case in front. This is one of my favorite spots in Noe Valley. Mohammed and staff are genuine and friendly. I always feel welcome. The food is great and also generous in size- in particular, my vote goes to the country scramble: the proportion of egg, cheese, and veggies (plus chorizo if you want it) is well balanced, and comes with a hefty side of potatoes and a tortilla. Service is responsive and it's also is a fun place to people watch and often has a neighborhood "buzz". With respect to the comments about price from some of the posts, we live in one of the most expensive cities in the world at this point and restaurants have to pay their bills too. I've had mediocre eggs down the block for almost as much and with none of the perks of the Diamond Cafe. For me, I'd rather support my local, and have great food, for an additional buck or two. This place makes Noe Valley feel more like a neighborhood. Five enthusiastic stars to the Diamond! read more

Went for brunch with my best friend here this morning. Can I just say, delicious! I understand why it has such good ratings. This is a very small cute cafe with probably about 10 tables inside and 4 outside. They have pastries right at the front for you to see, quite a few things jumped out on the menu at me and sounded yummy. I got the Croissant Sandwich and my friend got the lox bagel. This croissant was the fluffiest and tastiest I've ever had and they scrambled ham, egg, and cheese together inside of the croissant. Came with some fresh fruit which was a perfect end to the breakfast. My friend kept raving about the salmon on the lox bagel talking about how fresh it had to have been for it to taste that amazing. The Orange Juice definitely shouldn't be missed because they fresh squeeze it each day and it has heavy pulp, and has beautiful flavor. There was just one gentleman at the counter taking orders and making drinks while tending to the customers sitting down. And others in the back making the food I believe. Extremely polite, talked with us for a bit about what was really tasty and worth trying. The outside tables are perfect right around noon because the sun is shining right down the road perfectly so you stay warm and get a breeze. Definitely worth stopping and checking out. read more

Well, I had baby number 2.. And between the last months of pregnancy and now her first 3 months of life. I have visited Diamond Cafe more than a handful of times.. Mochas are awesome, and there always seems to be butter croissants when I want one for my older daughter- even when I'm buying the last one. I have had the NY coffee cake twice now- wow.. Not too sweet, with big delicious chunks of crumble topping. Mohamed, the owner, is always friendly, asks how the family is, or says hello to my sometimes shy 3 year old when she's with me.
