My other 2 guests had both the Open faced Hot Turkey Sandwich, which looked so good and was reported excellent and the House made Lamb Gyro that was also welcomed as a "great meal". This review is a bit overdue, as our most recent visit was during a family trip in July. Kennebec…read moreCafé has become a place we regularly visit when we're in the area, and once again, our family had a very enjoyable dinner. Tucked away just outside Durango in Hesperus, Kennebec has a beautiful, elegant atmosphere that feels upscale without being overly formal. It's a great setting for a nicer dinner or special occasion. The service has consistently been friendly and attentive, and the menu offers a great variety of options. The food is well prepared and beautifully presented, and there's clearly an emphasis on creating a more elevated dining experience. My one critique would be the quality-to-price value. While we've enjoyed most of what we've ordered, at this price point, I think some dishes could stand out a little more. On our most recent visit, we tried a filet mignon special, and while it was prepared well, the quality of the steak itself didn't quite meet the expectations we've come to have for Kennebec, particularly for the price. That said, this was a relatively small criticism of an otherwise great experience. Overall, Kennebec Café continues to offer a good combination of atmosphere, service, and food, and it remains a place we enjoy returning to when visiting the area. If you're looking for a more elegant dining experience around Durango or Hesperus, it's definitely worth a visit.

The inside was nice, clean, spacious, with windows that were open to let in fresh air. Our server brought us drink and food menus. we ordered beverages right off the bat. For appetizers, we ordered the grilled artichokes, with chevre, orange zest and olive oil. For a second app, we ordered Brussel sprouts, which came with avocado, tomatoes, and sunflower seeds. Interesting combo that worked well. We also ordered a bread basket. the bread was so delicious! All of it was. For dinner, I ordered the scallops with orzo and sauteed spinach. My S.O. ordered the Top Sirloin, with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. The other two guests ordered the Salmon with thai red curry sauce and the chicken pot pie. Everyone loved their food! Our server was nice, attentive, and had great recommendations. We will be returning to this restaurant!

It was our first night in Durango, and Seasons of Durango did not fail to impress. Marianna, our server, guided us beautifully through the menu and helped us make what turned out to be wonderful choices. Every course was thoughtfully conceived and beautifully executed by a chef whose culinary knowledge and talent were evident throughout the meal. From the appetizers through dessert, each course was spectacular. What made the evening especially memorable was the sense that every dish had intention behind it--carefully balanced flavors, beautiful presentation, and a genuine desire to create something special for the guest. Combined with the warmth of the service, it was an exceptional evening and a wonderful introduction to Durango. We would return without hesitation.

I love buttery Chardonnays and Rombauer may be among the best I have had, it reminded me of the award-winning Château Montelena, Chardonnay. For those of you who have never seen the movie Bottle Shock, watch it, It's a wonderful lesson in wine history. I'm definitely buying some Rombauer for my personal collection when I return to Vegas. My appetizer was a tasty peppery kick calamari dish. The kick wasn't too bad for you non spicy folks. The dish was light and crispy just how great calamari should be. Then came the branzino. I do not eat the skin of fish typically, but this dish was to tasty and the skin was the perfect level of crispy. The branzino and the wine went so well together, I was eating my desert early. The flavors popped in my mouth. At this point I was done but my amazing waiter Tyler did ask if I wanted to see the desert Menu and since I thought if the rest of the food was this delicious why not. I ended up ordering the white chocolate cheesecake. OH MY GOD, it melted in my mouth. The cheesecake wasn't overly rich but it was smooth, definitely fresh. The berries and the whipped cream balanced it out and that cheesecake didn't stand a chance. As a foodie from Las Vegas, I have been to a numerous amount of amazing restaurants. I cannot express my surprise at finding seasons here in Durango. This is definitely going to be one of my go to restaurants every time I visit this beautiful town. From the moment I walked through the door to the time that I left the service the food and the ambience was simply perfect. Lots of veggies and shrimp, with smaller portion of pasta. It was delicious. My S.O. ordered the beef bordelaise, with gravy, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Unfortunately, the beef bordelaise had several cold bites in it. Thankfully the mashed potatoes were hot so he could mix the bites. He did not ask them to address it. He definitely does not like to send things back, and cause issues with the kitchen. I would have sent it back, especially with the chilly day and AC running. Our waitress was friendly; she checked on us periodically and took empty plates quickly (huge plus!) and brought the check quickly. Happy to eat lunch here, but if I go there again, I will ask to sit in the front at a regular table.
