We made a reservation to have a nice dinner. Staff was super nice. The drink menu was limited. We had two appetizers one was good the other was okay. We got the pasta because it said homemade pasta, it was good. I just didn't feel like I would want to come back, the price to food flavor was a solid 3. It is very nice inside. I will try this place in a different season, maybe the menu will be different.

Wow, what a great experience! I had made reservations for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. I was a little nervous not knowing what to expect since it was my first time dinning at Dewz. For food, we ordered a Brie and two pasta dishes along with drinks. The Brie was simply amazing. I loved the combo with the strawberry puree and the pistachios. It had a creamy, sweet but crunchy taste to it. The pastas were good as well. Mine had a chili oil base to it whereas my bf had a beef broth to it. The drinks had the right amount of alcohol but not overly sweet either. Service was good too. Water was always constantly served and our waitress would explain everything that was in our dishes including options for desserts. One thing that caught me off guard is they will fold your napkin for you if you were to leave it sorta in a balled up status if you go use the bathroom. Def fancy fancy The interior has an intimate atmosphere to it with its dim lighting and dark furniture coloring. Good option to take someone for a special occasion, or maybe first date (if you want to give a great impression lol). This place is pricey so expect to spend somewhere near the 3 digits to 4 digits amount. My one take away is for what you are paying for, I kinda wished they gave a little complementary birthday cake. Even if it's bite sized. Overall, I would definitely come back again, only on a special occasion though.

Service at Dewz never disappoints, food always enjoyable. Most importantly they always have a good cocktail list.

Came here to celebrate the SO's birthday and had a nice evening with lots of food at Dewz! Located off J Street and 15th (next to the Tru-Fitness Gym), Dewz Restaurant was one of my bookmarked restaurants to go to for fancy dinner, and they were legit! Curious, I learned that Dewz is named after the original owner's brother who passed away from leukemia (RIP). I made reservations through Yelp about a week prior and this restaurant in particular does require credit card information to confirm the reservation since they do charge a $ amount if you cancel 24 hours before. The inside is definitely intimate - dim lighting, maroon fabric walls lined against washed out brick and floor to ceiling mirrors gave the illusion of a larger space. Classic instrumental versions of modern day hits softly play (we caught a classicized Black n Yellow and What Was I Made For during our visit lol). We ordered: Dreamsicle cocktail - very cool presentation with the vaped-up bubble encasing the drink, and very fun to pop. It tasted just like an Orange Dream Machine from Jamba Juice. Super sweet and perfect for someone who doesn't really enjoy the taste of alcohol (me). Baked peach brie - tasted just like a breakfast parfait! Also came with super buttery focaccia 43 oz bone-in ribeye at Market Price of $256, we decided to top it with a blue cheese and bacon crust for an extra $5. Although I didn't really detect blue cheese, I liked the seasoned breadcrumbs that gave the meat a more herby flavor (didn't really need the horseradish, Calabrian chimichurri, or mushroom sauces that were included). The meat also came with veggies and our choice of side; we went with the miso-bacon mac and cheese. I can definitely taste the miso, super creamy and satisfying. Side of loaded thick-cut fries - probably my favorite side dish, the fries were more like Lincoln logs-thick and kept their crispiness even when drenched in cheese sauce and sprinkled with bacon Kind of disappointed that they do not do comped birthday desserts - not to sound entitled - just an fyi for any future patrons looking to celebrate with something like that. Heather waited on us throughout the night and she was amazing - our water cups were never empty and she explained everything on the menu. She was even kind to inform us that our main entrée usually takes an hour to prep (!!). We timed it ourselves and found that our steak and sides came approx. 1.5 hour after order placement. So make sure you account for that if you have other plans after dinner (no movies for us to catch, fortunately!) Overall, a really nice dinner for a special occasion. Definitely budget for this!

This place is great for a night out or special occasions. Service was amazing the food was better than I could've imagined. Highly recommend the Baked Brie. I hear it changes with the seasons so I look forward to trying the others.

Came here for an early Father's Day dinner. The ambiance was cozy. The wait staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. Since it was our first time there, we ordered several dishes from appetizer to salad, pasta and steak. It was on the pricey side but it was well worth it. The steak was perfectly cooked. The salad was fresh. The seafood pasta was al dente with a generous amount of seafood. They have a good selection of wines to pair with the dishes. There were only 2 of us and we still had enough leftover for another meal.

How big is the vegan menu here?

We were just there Friday night and there was one dish on the main dinner menu and two appetizers I believe... they also have 2 lovely salads and I know that Scott is very accommodating so the chef may be able to add to that... they also have a wine…

The menu lists vegan items, with a comment that these are not offered regularly but are available, with 24-hour notice "appreciated". But there are other ways to go about this. There's a roasted cauliflower/quinoa entree that sounds free of…

WOW. What an unexpected find!…read more I happened to be charging my car right across the street from Bistro 120 and figured I'd walk over and grab something to eat while I waited. I was only planning to charge long enough to get back home to Fair Oaks. Instead, I ended up staying for over an hour because this place was just that good. I sat in the bar area, and Kelly took amazing care of me. I believe she was bartending as well as serving, and she was absolutely wonderful--smart, articulate, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable. I couldn't decide what I wanted and kept going back and forth between a few dishes. Kelly pointed me toward the sea bass. THANK YOU, KELLY. I can honestly say this may have been the best-cooked sea bass I've ever had. Sea bass is easy to get wrong. Undercook it and it isn't quite there; overcook it and you lose that beautiful texture. This was right in that perfect sweet spot--tender, flaky, moist, and cooked beautifully. Absolutely phenomenal. The rice served with it was delicious, the spinach was excellent, and the wine paired beautifully with the meal. They also have an excellent wine selection, which is always a huge plus for me. And then came dessert: the butter cake. Oh. My. Goodness. That butter cake was incredible. As good as everything else was, though, that sea bass is going to be hard to beat. My only complaint is that now I may have to drive 73 miles just to get great sea bass again! The atmosphere deserves mentioning too. Bistro 120 has an elegant, upscale ambiance without feeling stuffy or pretentious. I walked in wearing golf shorts, tennis shoes, and a polo and felt completely comfortable. You could come dressed up for a special evening or casually stop in like I did and fit right in. What started as a quick stop to charge my car turned into one of those unexpected dining experiences you remember. If you're anywhere near Oakdale, stop at Bistro 120. Great atmosphere, excellent wine, wonderful service, an unforgettable sea bass--and save room for that butter cake. I absolutely loved this place. It does not disappoint.

No one needed to send up a flare to make sure drinks were cared for/topped off or the table remained clean. He made recommendations (kudos for the up-sale) to make already great dishes even better. We had two specialty drinks, salad- add chicken (perfectly cooked and well-seasoned), a sandwich with truffle fries, and of course- the butter cake. Superb. I'm glad we went today. It reminded me that I always appreciate the food and service at Bistro.

I have left wonderful reviews in the past for this place but I have to share my experience…read morerecently. My boyfriend and I have been to Standard Pub several times during the day, and every visit has been fantastic. We've enjoyed the food, drinks, and even had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on multiple occasions. The service was always welcoming, and the food was consistently phenomenal. Because of those great experiences, we decided to bring some friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and the atmosphere looked promising. There appeared to be a DJ setting up, and the crowd seemed excited for a night of music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience that evening was completely different from what we had come to expect. We ordered food and drinks, and while our server wasn't outright rude, he seemed uninterested in providing the level of service we had previously received. As the night went on, things became increasingly odd. Shortly after ordering another round of drinks, while our drinks were still full and we had just received them, the server approached our table and asked if we were finished. My boyfriend jokingly responded, "No, let me talk to your manager," and laughed, assuming the server was joking as well. The server responded, "Yeah, it's my brother," but with an attitude that left everyone at our table looking at each other wondering what had just happened. He then informed us that we needed to put a credit card on file. At that point, we had already been there for over an hour, and it seemed strange that this requirement was only being brought up then. We also noticed that no other tables around us were being asked for a card. The most disappointing part came when we received the bill. There was an additional $60 service charge added--$35 on my friends' bill and $25 on ours. Confused, we asked for an explanation. The explanations we received kept changing. First, we were told it was because my boyfriend was sitting with another group, which was completely false. Then we were told it was because the bill exceeded $100. After that, we were told it was because there were more than six people in our party, despite there only being four of us. The inconsistent explanations were frustrating and made it feel as though the staff were simply making up reasons to justify the charge. Our issue wasn't necessarily with a service fee itself--it was the lack of disclosure and the conflicting stories we were given when we asked about it. To make matters worse, the receipt also included a separate line for an additional tip. After discussing it with them and explaining that additional charges should be clearly communicated to customers, the service charge was ultimately removed. This review is not a reflection of the food, which remains excellent, nor of our previous experiences at Standard Pub. It is solely based on the service and handling of the situation during our Saturday night visit. We left feeling disappointed and confused, especially because this establishment had earned our trust through many positive visits in the past. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident and that management addresses these issues so other customers don't have a similar experience

Staff was super friendly, went out of their way to make sure the tables were tidy, and refilled drinks really quick. The restaurant is smaller than you expect it to be, but it is cozy, friendly, and not overly loud. We only had a 10 minute wait when we arrived and they were packed. Our waiter Kyle was on point, introduced himself and dropped the special of the day with gusto. If I hadn't already had a ton of carbs for the day I would have gone with it. Ended up ordering the scallops, and fried zucchini appetizers. Scallops are served almost like a soup. The sauce in the bowl was to die for. I'm thinking white wine, and lemon were the major components. It was phenomenal. Fried zucchini was super tasty and is coming home with us. I'd swear it was enough to feed 4 people. For mains, we ordered pot roast and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Wife loved the pasta and chicken. Surprisingly enough she ate it all, none to go which is super rare for her. Pot roast was fantastic. Mashed potatoes were on point, the mixed vegetables were amazing. I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh. I think for the price point the burger should have been great, but sadly I can't say it was great or even good. I'd likely not return.
