Ordered online and used the feature that allows you to associate a name with each item. I pick up the order and go home. Order is weird with some unlabeled items and then missing others. I go back to find that I was given the wrong order; they re make the order. I'm glad I checked the order before I left because it was wrong once again! When I let the Mgr know that the order was wrong again, she basically avoided us and walked away. A regular employee remade the item and I overheard the mgr. verifying we had ordered the item originally. So, this was a bit of an insult considering the service we received. I then overheard a different employee tell the mgr that the mgr was supposed to make the missing item; she also asked the mgr, "did you miss that?!" We didn't get an apology or our money back. On top of all this, we were ordering for our family visiting from out of town because we had told them how great Dewars was... It'd be nice to talk to someone about our experience from Dewars. I can offer a few ways to improve techie customer service. Most of what we went through could have been offset by better communication by the employees. read more

They offer the same menu, but here you have the option to stay in the car or not. Took advantage of the drive-thru, but my only complaint is that it is NOT fast food, so it can take awhile to get your desserts! In the mid-70's my younger brother was a student at the newly opened CSCB. Ever since then, when in town, he gets ice cream & chews here. (And the original location!). Every time my wife & I are passing through the area, he STRONGLY recommends we get some ice cream here. Not being a big fan of ice cream, we haven't. This time we visited simply to pick up ice cream as a gift for my aforementioned brother. I enjoyed our chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. But I really liked the chews. If you want the full Dewars experience, go to one of the other locations! I love the idea of the express drive-through "to-go" idea, but not at the sacrifice of a great dining-in experience. The serving sizes are smaller, but at the same price. We finally got a location in the southwest, but it does not offer nearly the same experience! Bummer! read more

Went to school at BHS, 1959-1963, one of the Dewar boy's went there the same time, was bit older. My Mother would take my sister and me to Dewar's from Westchester area to buy a quart of ICE Milk ice cream, not as fattening, cost was $1.75. That was great, but it was the chews we craved. One could see a lady prepare a marble table to make candy of sorts. I lived in Hawaii and use to have some shipped, now in Florida...yep having some shipped. The chews are that good. . read more

I usually get plain scoops of ice cream anyway, so I just buy a pint to keep at home when getting sundaes for others. There are small booths inside that each can fit 4 people or less. I have been to the one on Eye Street and was pleased with my choice of ice cream there, however, on Memorial Day my husband and I took the family to the new Dewars Express by our house and were quite disappointed. My Rocky Road choice was not chocolaty enough for my taste. It reminded me of a Wendy's frosty and the marshmallows were just thrown on top rather than frozen within the ice cream itself. Their choice of walnuts are not my favorite ( I prefer the traditional choice of pecans or almonds) and worse, it was missing the bits of chocolate pieces and chocolate chips that I love. For anyone who wants a yummy scoop of Rocky Road ice cream I recommend Moo Creamery. They have an excellent array of ice cream flavors and no one in my family has ever left disappointed. read more

I usually come here often but feel like I won't be back much anymore. I decided to try out the drive through and I wish I hadn't. I ordered a black and white and a red and white which were fine. I also ordered a sundae with chocolate ice cream, marshmallow cream and walnuts. What I got was vanilla with hot fudge that was all sticky on the side of the cup when I took it out of the bag. I don't care for plain vanilla never really had. If I was going to pay 6 bucks for a hot fudge sundae I could get it at the grocery store for a couple dollars more and eat like 8 sundaes. I'm very disappointed and since this is their second time messing up my order I most likely won't be going back. Not worth it for the price. read more

These last two times I've been there I've had bad experiences. The last time we went thru drive thru and I ordered a George's Special. It didn't have bananas or nuts. It was a very VERY chocolatey milk shake. Tonight we walked in and again I ordered a George's Special. When the server handed us our cups to go she precedes to tell us that the shakes were made very thin so she added ice cream so if we get chunks, that's why. Needless to say, it was still very thin, not cold, and the bananas tasted old. read more

This review has nothing to do with the ice cream. I love dewars ice cream, but this says that the place closes at 10 and it closes at 9. Same with the one on Calloway. The drive through is so backed up and they refuse to open the lobby. The times of operation should be updated. This is really frustrating. read more

Cruzin through the drive-thru! Almost too convenient for late night ice cream runs, but it can't be beat! I usually don't go to Dewars for the chews, so it's nice to have something to for quick ice cream. The only complaint I have about the place is that parking spaces get blocked because the drive-thru lane gets so backed up. I know its not the service taking forever, because that has always been quick. I think it's because everybody loves this place, and we all seem to get the ice cream craving at the same time. Let's see. I am usually delighted to buy an expensive box of taffy chews from DeWar's as they are pretty tasty. However, I bought 3 1-lb boxes on Wednesday 5/8/13 and was disappointed when I opened one box and the usual super soft texture was a very hard and seemed a bit stale. Upon inspecting the box for the date of packaging(?) I found that the date was all the way back from 4/23/13. That is over 2 weeks on the shelf! Is that allowed??? One box of the 3 had a much later date thank goodness since I had gotten them for Mother's Day gifts. Really disappointed, especially if that was past the shelf life. They should have better standards as this is a family owned local business. Does a customer really need to say, give me the freshest one??? I feel as if saying this is a tad rude. Quality shouldn't have to be asked for. Not sure if I would waste my money on boxes of taff y again. When somebody is buying 3 boxes you should give them all the same dated ones...just an FYI. It looks bad to say, here are 2 really stale boxes we want to get rid of..and here, you can have one fresh one. Tsk tsk. One a positive note you cannot beat the price for a single scoop cone. read more
