We sat down and ordered a 1-person portion banana split and an ice cream sundae. Honestly we felt bad ordering only 2 things and taking up a big table. When the ice cream came, we were shocked at the portions. It was ginormous!!! Not only did dewars deliver on quantity, they delivered quality as well. It was one of the most plentiful banana split I've had where there were so many other topics. We also got rocky road with our ice cream sundae and it was just decadent. We couldn't finish. This review is long overdue. It had been quite some time since I had visited this Dewar's location, as dietary restrictions basically prohibited me from doing so. But, things got better and I decided to accompany my party. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our server who displayed a genuine smile and kind voice. Upon returning to get our orders and asking me my choice, I chagrinned and said "Well, do you have a very fresh banana that is not ripe and possibly some peanut butter topping?" Our server immediately and unhesitatingly said "Let me go and check!" Upon returning, our server had the very unripe banana in hand, and showed it to me to get my approval! Wow, talk about customer service! Impressive! Our server then returned with banana cut up in a nice glass dish (those are becoming extinct) and the peanut butter topping (sauce really) and I went to town. It was delicious. Returning to our table, our server looked at me and said, "Here is another peanut butter sauce topping on me!" I was so taken aback, I just stared at our server and then our server said "My Momma always told me that some days folks need extra kindness..." to which I gasped in amazement and began to get very emotional. Whilst tears were running down my face, I said, "You'll never know just how very much this means to me. I will NEVER forget you!" Our server said, "Oh, that makes my day and makes me so happy!" Our server's first name starts with an "A", and that is not at all surprising. To me, that "A" stands not only for our server's first name, but also for AMAZINGLY AWESOME! And, upon our second return, I did remember our server's name and requested this server, and in true form, the genuine smile, kind voice, and conversational exchange proved that our server is truly AMAZINGLY AWESOME because she remembered me! Dewar's has been on my ice cream Mount Rushmore since I was a kid. I have saught after small batch, specialty, mom and pop, craft ice cream shops in all the places I have lived, and I still always crave and want to come back to Dewar's ice cream and their highly coveted peanut butter chews. I almost always get the same order every time. A large sundae with Reese's on the bottom, cookie dough on top, hot fudge, and almonds with a handful of peanut butter chews on the side. This location is a great place to stock up on chews as they can sell any amount of mix and match in bulk of whichever flavors you want... which is something anyone would know and is only a slight indicator of my obsession with their chews.. lol This location in particular is my favorite to visit. The interior is completely decorated with the classic ice cream parlor decor, complete with large circular booths inside as well as comfy chairs in the enclosed outdoor area by the cozy fire during winter. You might even be lucky enough to have a wild Chewy sighting, their mascot, at this location. lol What a local icon! This location also goes ALL OUT with Christmas decorations during the holiday season. I grabbed a few of their custom ornaments and soaked in the festive vibes. They also have solid sized water cups, which is a niche thing to appreciate, but it is most definitely appreciated. I would be remiss if I didn't give a proper shout out to the staff at this location. Their staff are some of the most kind and attentive you'll ever find. They want to see every guest have an amazing experience and it shows in the pride they take in their work as well as the care they show when interacting with each of their guests. Their impeccable customer service feels personal in a way where you can't help but feel a part of the Dewar's family. Came here for a Father's Day treat. It was not as expected. We received water but the hard plastic cups were dirty with debris floating in one and another cup has a rough rim all around it, it would cut a lip. The ice cream was good. The men's restroom did not have any soap, and it was really dirty. It was a disappointing visit. read more

Came in to try their candies for the first time. First off, the person who helped was so nice and friendly. She was also very patient with out questions and helped us pick the quantity/pack for us. I've moved out of state- but when I visit I always pick up a couple boxes of chews. I remember working at Gottschalks in 1998 when the Almond chews came out and employees walked around with free samples. They are still my favorites service was ok, she cashiered my order( too my money) - but I wish as a visitor I'd received more information for the possibility of buying more / other items. After a late dinner, the family was wanting a sweet treat. I wanted to head downtown for my favorite ice cream spot but ultimately ended up settling for Dewars because it was getting late. Depending on what you're looking for the menu seemed a bit thin. I appreciate unique creations and it just consisted of all your classic cravings (shakes, sundaes, etc.) I have a nice sweet tooth but couldn't quite find what I was looking for, so settled for an ice cream sandwich. Can't go wrong? Yea, no. It was literally a scoop of ice cream sandwiched between a chocolate chip cookie. In spite of it being a sandwich, it was ironic because it didn't come together well at all. The cookie was cold and dry, too thick, and crumbled easily. It would have been much better had it been a warm nice and soft cookie. It didn't help that the ice cream was also very firm. It felt like 2 ingredients put together that failed to be cohesive. I'm sorry, not impressed. Next time I'll plan accordingly and head downtown. Went to the ice cream shop off of Rosedale for the very first time and I really enjoyed how big the places and their ample booth seating. This place is quite large and also has space to host birthday parties, which was really cool. They also have a giant counter in the middle of the restaurant that you can sit at Well, this place is large. I feel like their downtown location has more options in terms of candy, truffles, and other knickknacks that you can purchase. And for the ice cream well... What can I say? It is always delicious. My son and his family who do not live in town really enjoyed this place and I hope we can go back many more times. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I love the old-school ice cream parlor feel of this place! You seat yourself and staff come over to hand out menus, then when they check back in, you can place your orders. We came in around noon on a Sunday, but as our first meal of the day. I ordered a brownie sundae to split with a friend, which was the perfect portion. The ice cream was good but the marshmallow fluff on top was amazing! Gooey and sweet, but a great compliment to the cold ice cream. Jill was our server who was absolutely both patient and amazing. She answered our questions, made recommendations based on our likes and shared her favorites. I had to get my go to which is a chocolate chip cookie dough malt while she got the black and white with almonds on the top. The malt was so good and you get almost whole another malt left in the tin to take home if you don't finish it all! You gotta try their marshmallow fluff too, it was too bomb and you can even buy some that they jarred up from their little candy shop.
