Nice little hidden gem in South West Bakersfield. Let me start off by saying that the ice cream is delicious! It was our first time trying, I'd heard good things on Facebook as well as yelp and Scherb's did not disappoint. We were offered small samples before making our decision. My wife ordered a single scoop of Dragon Fruit which she loved, I ordered 2 scoops (1 mint n chip & 1 white pistachio) on a waffle cone. The ice cream was fantastic, the owners were very friendly. And definitely made us feel Well taken care of. This is a perfect place to bring the family on a hot day. I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a sweet treat. Absolutely some of the best ice cream in Bakersfield!!! We first found Scherb's in the Brookside Deli in the Marketplace area. Unfortunately we heard that they have closed that location during the winter months. They ate now located on the Eastside which for us is a lot closer!!!! They have a spot in the City Sandwich establishment. Which to me is a win win!!! I love City Sandwich and I really love the awesome ice cream from Scherbs!!!! I had the opportunity yo be a taste tester of their ice cream sandwich which was outstanding. Their awesome ice cream paired with a delicious chocolate chip cookie was one of the best I've had. Ice Cream Ice Cream.... There's not a lot of flavors , However to many flavors can be overwhelming. If you want to taste before buying, they do offer that. I got the chocolate chip an strawberry ice cream. Two scoop $6.50 Pricey Yes!! Worth it?? Yes!!!! I try strawberry first an it was so smooth an the strawberry was delicious. Then the chocolate chip , it took me back to my childhood . When my grandpa would make homemade ice cream on summer days , 4th July days. I highly recommend this place. I went with a friend to Scherb's Ice Cream yesterday evening for the first time, and all I can say is WOW! The ice cream was divine and unlike any I've ever tasted before in terms of flavor and creaminess! I had a salted caramel and coconut and almond sundae in their homemade waffle cone, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Their flavors are unique, and they allow you to taste flavors before deciding. The 2 owners were super friendly and cheerful, and very personable. Conrad went out of his way to ensure I had adequate napkins around the cone so the ice cream would not drip on me. Thank you Conrad! The seating area inside is clean and lovely, and their prices are excellent. Husband saw the Yelp listing and decided to swing by while we were visiting. Got 2 flavors - strawberry and "it's a goody". Think the owner heard us wrong because we only wanted 2 scoops in a cup for $6.00, but he ended up giving us 2 scoops in 2 separate cups and we had to pay $12.00. Agggghh... The "It's a Goody" flavor was a bit too much and didn't taste great beyond just 1 scoop, for peanut butter fans. Loved the strawberry flavor though! read more

Really cool new ice cream place. If this is your first time, it might be a little confusing since it's actually inside a gas station. But, the men behind the counter were super friendly, plus there's a little bonus patio tucked in the back, that's actually pretty cute. Currently, they have about 12 different flavors. I got a scoop of butter pecan, and my partner got the mint chocolate chip. I really liked the butter pecan! It was very rich, creamy, and thick. And the texture of the pecans was really nice too. I think next time, I would try the cappuccino crunch. I believe they also have a few vegan flavors as well. And on the top of this, the prices are really reasonable compared to the ice cream places in town. I just wish it was a little bit closer. I recommend checking this place out! read more

This gem of an ice cream counter-style business is located inside Brooks Market and Deli by the marketplace. $3.50 for a scoop of ice cream? $7 for a 20 oz Float? Such great deals. This definitely made my wallet and my tummy happy! They get in new flavors regularly- my son LOVED the PB&J, and though I "just" got the Mint Chip (which was ALSO perfect), I tried another one that was a mix of peanut butter and chocolate chip ice cream- SO good! We will definitely be back, especially with the outdoor concerts getting ready to come over to the Marketplace this summer! Growing up as kid I loved the Friday or Saturday opportunities where as a family is wasn't uncommon to go out for a ice cream treat. A place you can grab a frozen treat collectively as a family and everybody enjoying complete satisfaction of their specific flavor of choice with smiles from ear to ear. Now a days to do that either breaks your wallet or the flavors don't taste like real ice cream but rather artificial flavoring. As a ice cream connoisseur and one who eats it regularly for all three meals of the day; Scherb's is exactly the place you want to be at. It's the place where you can load up the entire family, still get the countertop service and served a great quality ice cream that doesn't break the wallet and is cheaper than your ever day morning coffee. The staff here was great and super friendly and gave the feel of what a ice cream place should be. The ice cream choices and options to serve it up were many to select from and all looked amazing with top notch ingredients. I decided to do the PB&J waffle cone and I was glad I did. It's was pure heaven at every bite and with each bite that got closer to the end; was something I wished would never stop. Unfortunately as the old saying goes; all great things must come to a end. Best part here is knowing I can return often(weekly) and it won't add up to other local ice cream places that cost nearly as much as going to Disneyland! We went with friends because we were all craving ice cream. They gave samples for us to try, which was great! The selection isn't very big, maybe eight flavors. I ordered a scoop of a chocolate brownie flavor. When they say scoop... that's exactly what you get if not less. All of us got a scoop!!
