To be honest, I've only bought toffee, but damn, it's delicious! This trip I bought end of the school year toffee gifts for my coworkers. I decided to make it easy on myself and buy one flavor for all. That flavor was Oreo toffee. It had Oreo cookies layered with toffee. Looked so good! I was told it was delicious. For myself, I bought the caramel toffee. OMG! Soft, buttery caramel and crisp toffee are the perfect combo! One piece was rich and super satisfying! I decided not to eat the whole bag myself and shared with a friend. Prices are good. Toffee is delicious. Many more toffee flavors to try. Somehow toffee has come to be associated with Bakersfield for me. I used to order toffee every winter from a home baker, but once they stopped making it, I was so distraught! My mother in law introduced me to Aunt Mae's and I'm delighted to have a new favorite toffee in town! They make a wide variety of toffee types utilizing dark, milk or white chocolate. The smores toffee is my absolute favorite. If you're feeling adventurous, you can try the hot cheeto toffee! The store also sells items like fudge and small gifts. The staff member there was quite lovely as she shared all about the products they sell with pride! I bring my boys here often to pick out a treat or to get some of their delicious English Toffee. The inside is so cute. They have tables set up with treats or beautiful gifts. The other day i was eating nearby and saw the open sign, so i walked to see what this sweet store was. It's pretty nice inside lots of candy throughout. I got the "new" dubai chocolate bar $12, and an avocado honeybjar, also $12. The bar was small but delicious! It was offered in dark chocolate and milk chocolate. I would get another. These ladies are so lovely. What a beautiful shop. The first thing that I noticed was the front doors. This place is just gorgeous inside and out. So let's talk sweets.. oh my goodness the toffee recipe from her mom is the best and all of the other treats that they have and what they do around holiday time is so special for the adults and kiddos. My Little's loved their Easter Bunny trains!! They also have some of the best gifts if you're looking for something special this is definitely the place. We went to Aunt Mae's ready to try a little of everything and we definitely did! We bought seven different kinds of toffee, an Oreo pop, chocolate covered twinkies, a Rice Krispie, pecan pralines, caramels, toffee rolled snickerdoodle ice cream cookie sandwiches. Every single item we had was so delicious! Super super sweet but that's what your looking for when when you go to somewhere specializing in toffee. The packages on all of the items are adorable and individually wrapped. They would make really cute gifts as well. A couple tips: the ice cream for the ice cream sandwiches comes from Rosemary's! I love when local businesses partner together and their ice cream is a wonderful accompaniment to the soft cookies rolled in crunchy sweet toffee. Next, is the hot Cheetos toffee! Okay negatives: the customer service was non existent, the male employee/owner seemed bothered and uninterested. I tried making small talk to no avail. We were across the street at the antique store after eating at Smitten and decided to go into the candy store. Really cute Halloween decorated candies are available right now. We chose a selection of their toffees and a churro candy apple. Toffee is really rich and delicious. The apple was nice and crispy, coated in caramel and the churro toffee- YUM! This small store was not what I expected. I am not sure why but for some reason I thought this place was a bakery. It was mid afternoon when I came into this shop and I was greeted by a nice gentleman who answered my questions. They did not have what I was looking for, but I did buy some fudge. The fudge was good, on the level of Blackwell's Corner west of Lost Hills. There is a lot of stuff displayed in the store, trinkets and figurines and such. It is a good store if you are wanting to feed a sweet tooth. I think they specialize in toffee, but I do not care for that. read more

Super cute shop in the "nicer" part of downtown across from smitten. After seeing several posts on Facebook about this location decided to take the kids after school. I had told my kids they had snickerdoodle cookie ice cream sandwiches but when we got there they didn't have any. Everything else also seemed to be pre-packed in baggies. I don't know why but I pictured something like sees candy where you can pick what you want from the display window. It was super quiet in there and I felt the gentleman inside the store was just watching us. Kind felt a little uncomfortable like I didn't even want to touch anything like a bad kid lol We ended up not even getting candy they make there just some baseball gum and another candy I forgot what it was. Wow, wow, wow.... I called and placed an order with them and asked if they could arrange it in some type of basket. The gentleman on the phone was very accommodating and reassuring that it could be done and that it would look good. I arrived to pickup my order and was greeted by Antoinette (the owner) with a warm hello and big smile. the basket was beautiful and more than I expected. Beautiful peacock colored ribbon and all the different toffee's arranged perfectly. It was 108 degree outside and Antoinette very graciously offered to take my basket to the car for me.
