On Sunday, December 14, 2025, we stopped by your new store, excited to check it out. Shortly after arriving, my 3-year-old clearly needed to use the restroom and was visibly uncomfortable. Despite this, the employee on duty refused to allow him to use the restroom. I find this completely unacceptable, especially given the circumstances and the age of the child. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this store. read more

My son loves this place and I can see why. They have so many options of soda and candies it's unreal. I bring him here for a treat when he gets good grades. He likes to look at the bubble gum and rootbeer sodas. The staff here are always kind to him and offer a sticker too. We have a collection. They will even let you open your soda if you are ready to drink it after purchase. It's a great place. read more

This is a great store for children and their parents. It's close to Edwards Cinema so the kids can go buy the candies they want. I took my grandzon and he found hands and feet and pickle hands. Lots of Astro bomb pops and candy bars and novelty candy plus bins of bulk candy. They have all kinds of soda pop in new and different flavors. I should have picked up a apple pie drink as I can't stop thinking about it. Do yourself a favor and go here and find some crazy good candy and drinks. I am a Rocket Fizz fanatic! Imagine my surprise when I discovered that we had one here in Bakersfield that had been open for quite a while and I didn't even know it existed, from frustration to overwhelming joy as I rushed down and went inside I was back in my happy place. I've travelled to Visalia and SLO to hit up Rocket Fizz in the past and now I have one here a mere few minutes from home. The staff is very friendly, welcoming you when you enter and offering to help you find anything you're looking for but any true Rocket Fizz lover knows that it's not about coming in looking for one thing it's about the journey to find what it is you want that day lol. I love walking around checking out all the options before finally settling on a few treats. Last visit I finally tried a Flaming Moe energy drinks which had been on my list for a while as well as some Sarsaparillas because I love them and a few Japanese treats. I'll be a frequent customer, I'm happy and my bank account is sad. read more

I loved the variety, all the nostalgia. I got some drinks about 3 of them including the peanut butter and jelly. I didnt like it, i was expecting more. My son got an horchata soda and also didnt taste good. All the candy was great! But left spending about $80 worth. read more

This a good store if your are looking for candies, soda, and snacks. There are also some imported Asian food as well, such as Chinese Lays Chips, those are a bit more pricy due to shipping costs. Theres a large variety of taffy candies to choose from as well. And also comedic sodas/soda flavors, such as the Taste The Revolution, with various dictators on the packaging. There's also some toys and other goods as well, mainly pop culture items. The store has some music playing often, good lighting too. Though I don't like the Fortune Teller animatronic (specifically a Zoltar machine), he randomly likes to say phrases that can be heard across the whole store. I assume you can request an employee to turn him off during your visit, but I'm not sure until I visit again...That is why I unfortunately have to deduct a Star. This store is very nice other than that. The service is good and quick. read more

I pass by the place every day or so but never went in until last Wednesday. The girl that worked there, I think her name was layle, was incredibly kind and helped me pick out the best candy I've ever had. She deserves a raise if she is Isnt already the manager! I'll definitely be coming back here. If the other employees are even half as sharp as she was, this place will last forever! read more

SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! My grandson and I both love salt water taffy. We realized that the local Rocket Fizz carried different flavored taffy, because we only like chocolate, watermelon and peach flavored. We were so excited we bought 2 of the $11.99 bags of the flavors we liked . We took them home and realized the taffy was hard as rock !!! I called and told the associate that the taffy was extremely hard and to check with his manager and I would bring the candy back . He informed me that they don't take back food . To which I told him I need something done because I bought $25 worth of taffy that was hard. The next day we took back the candy and the associate told me we could only exchange for more taffy , no refund , no store credit , not even purchase other product only salt water taffy. He got some taffy from the back and told me that was the best he could do because they don't sell that much taffy . We finally took watermelon and peach , no chocolate( really hard) . But we will never purchase salt water taffy from Bakersfield Rocket Fizz again . SO DISAPPOINTED!!!! read more

Rocket Fizz is owned by 2 Veterans, Enrique and Maritza Rios. I have been a customer since they opened their doors last year. Yep, it was in the beginning of the pandemic. Rocket Fizz is my happy place- when I step inside all the stress melts away. I am surrounded by Jones Soda, Chocolate Neccos, Wax Candy, Butterscotch Discs, Bottle Caps, Chick-o-Sticks, Original Hershey Bars, Oh Henry Bars, to name a few. Yes, the prices can be higher , but you won't find many of these items anywhere else in town. Maritza and Phoebe are super creative and will make custom Mystery Bags. Great little shop with good staff. They don't carry EVERYTHING the bigger candy shops do but they have a lot of neat things and cool metal signs as well as a large selection of bottled sodas. read more
