Tran helped bring my dream wedding dress to life. I'm not your typical bride. I wanted something simple but had so much trouble finding a dress I truly loved in the bridal shops. I fell in love with a blue and white flower pattern I found at a cheap dress shop. I didn't like the dress shape much but the pattern was exactly the what I was looking for. It's taken me a while to write this review only because it's hard to put into words what Tran did for me. I bought a dress at David's Bridal about 11 months before my wedding. I bought it two sizes smaller than I was, thinking I had plenty of time to lose weight. Well, 7 months came and went and the dress didn't fit. I tried the dress on again around February (wedding scheduled for July) and it didn't fit; it was loose in certain places, had no "poof" at the bottom, and looked like I was wearing a towel. I wondered "what was I thinking when I bought this dress?" I started researching a place for alterations, and fate (and Yelp) led me to Tran. Before meeting with her, I even considered purchasing a whole new dress because I was not happy with the one I had. Right after our first meeting my fears were settled. She is absolutely the sweetest person to work with with a keen eye on bridal gowns. I was very nervous to take my dress to just any seamstress because of how expensive my dress was (based on my budget) and how much I truly loved it. It had beading, and ruffles and a super long train with delicate lace. So taking it to just any on was not an option. After doing some research I trusted some other yelp comments and went to see her. My dress was a very complicated dress to fit, but Tran was a total pleasure to work with. I want to make sure people understand that you get what you pay for, and tran does amazing work and is very organized when it comes to dress fittings. We had weekly appointments for 7 weeks before my wedding. Tran suggested to me a place to buy the perfect corset and listened to all my concerns and comments. We started on figuring out the puzzle of creating a bustle that otherwise would be impossible to walk in for the reception. She even spent a session teaching my bridesmaid how to bustle me up once it was done (yes it was very complicated). Then a few weeks in we decided that adding straps would be the most comfortable and visibly appealing option. She allowed me to bring in a rhinestone strand of my own for her to attach to the straps. I was nervous because she had to adjust the neckline and chest portion of my dress which had A LOT of beading. But, the result was gorgeous. I always read other people's Yelp reviews but I have never written any until now. My first Yelp review ever goes to the amazingly talented Tran. I ordered my wedding dress in Nov 2015 from a store called 2000 Dreams Bridal in Temple City (they have great prices, but do NOT go there to get your dress altered!). Because the dress had to be custom-hemmed from the company then mailed to the store, I didn't get to see the dress until end of April 2016. My wedding day was May 21st! I had my dress fitted and altered twice there over a period of two weeks. Long story short, they messed up my dress twice - the bust was too tight and pointy, the midsection too frumpy, and the lace hem too long. To them, the dress looked great and but to me, it looked like a disaster. I did not want them to fix it a third time because time was ticking and each alteration took another week to complete. They also didn't listen to my concerns and were extremely rude to me. It was time to find somewhere else to work a miracle. Then, panic sank in as the search began for another place that will fix my dress TWO WEEKS before my wedding. After calling many alterations places, Tran decided to squeeze me in on a Saturday morning for a consultation. She fitted me that day and got my measurements. I went back that Monday for a second fitting and after the third fitting on Thursday, I got to take my dress home! I can't believe that within 5 days of meeting her, she was able to fix my dress! No one else would ever take on this risky job! I was so glad and extremely grateful to have found her. Tran - THANK YOU for the work you have done. As promised, here is my updated review after the wedding. All I have to say is....AMAZING. My dress made me felt beautiful on my wedding day, I fit it like a glove and was comfortable in it ALL day. I was able to sit comfortably, danced and walked around to take so many pictures. I have never in my life felt so pretty in a dress or fit into something that was made just for me. I couldn't thank Tran enough, really. It wouldn't have been possible without her. Everyone complimented on how beautiful the dress was and how great the fit was. Tran also custom designed my crystal sash and bow for me and it was icing on the cake. It made the dress complete. I LOVED the custom bow that clipped on the back. She took her time to make sure the bow was perfect, not too big, not too small. There are not enough words to express my appreciation for the hours and hours of work Tran had put into my dress to make sure it was my dream dress. I don't even know where to begin? It's YOUR WEDDING GOWN! Once in a lifetime (for most of us) to look absolutely stunning on our wedding day. You can't go cheap and have to find a seamstress who knows what she is doing. I saw that another Yelper on here had an amazing wedding gown and I couldn't help to reach out to her. After a few messages I knew I had to get my dress tailored by Tran. She is amazing!!! My dress came in a size 6 and I'm guessing I lost weight over 6 months because when my dress came it was loose. Tran said I could have gotten the dress one size down. With that said, you can imagine how much work had to be done. I had one month before the wedding to get all this done. I had both sides taken in, the hem taken higher, bustle for my train and cups added. I saw Tran at least once a week and she made sure that at every step she takes in the dress, you try it on right after to make sure it all fits perfectly. After about 5 appointments, my dress fits flawlessly, I can walk with confidence without worrying about stepping on my dress, and my boobs have never looked so good. Lol. She also managed to tailor my sash since I purchased a size large online for $100 (Bridal shops can run $300+) and she made it all fit. She also gave a great recommendation on where to get my dress, sash and veil pressed. Though they didn't starch the lace to make it stand. I was okay with the outcome. Tran came with excellent Yelp reviews. Everything she does is efficient and lovely. From text message reminders about the appointments to encouraging to bring in examples of what you wanted changed on the wedding dress, she is as professional as they come. Upon our initial meeting, she was on time and listened to my ideas. And because she has been in this niche for more than 20 years, she would input her experienced comments making me see if the changes I wanted could be done as I wanted or in a different way, the convenience for me and the fees. This is a paperless company and I was glad she even cares about these details. I brought my gown and showed pictures and she created a budget on the first day. The agreement is made so nothing is a surprise at the end. We also scheduled 3 fittings in our calendars. When my scheduled changed, she was flexible in accommodating dates. She doesn't measure you and send you on your way before you go back to receive the dress. Tran was so detailed (to the point where extra tailoring sessions were added) that I felt better about the dress each time I saw it. And let me say I went to her about a month and a half before the wedding day. Very fast and elegant work. The dress was cut from both sides of the waist several inches, cups were added, a waist sash sew in a cascade back hidden behind the closing buttons, material at the ends of the dress added so the dress would flow, the length modified on all sides and a hidden bustle incorporated. she did all these modifications for a very reasonable price. Once again, Tran is all about details. She recommended a length of the dress based on the shoes I would wear, gave jewelry recommendations that would suit my dress, gave so much information on why she recommended certain alterations not be done and how to better the proposed ones that you know she truly cares about how her work is presented. She even recommended a better fabric for the sash I originally wanted and that made all the difference. The completed dress received so many compliments and compared to the original, the finished product looked like it was made to suit my body. 5 stars does not do it for Tran. Tran tailored my wedding dress and the shorter reception dress and they both turned out absolutely beautiful. My first gown was a mermaid style that fell a little flat at the bottom, so she added crinoline underneath for fullness, and then a trim of horsehair to make the hem stiff and swingy when I walked. She did a french bustle for my dress as well, which was very hard to design since my dress had a long asymmetrical train. The icing on the cake was a gorgeous blush colored sash with crystal details and a full, fluffy bow on the back of the dress. I got so many compliments on that bow; it definitely made the dress! My shorter dress was nothing special at first, to be honest, but then Tran added Austrian crystal trim to the neckline and then a large crystal detail at the waist that made my waist look super tiny. My mom said she ended up loving this dress more than the long gown. The pricing here isn't cheap, but the quality of work that Tran offers is worth the money. I'm glad that I didn't go the budget route with my dress alterations and instead went with Tran, who spent so much painstaking time and care with my dresses (and with my mom and I during our many dress fittings!). On our last dress fitting, she gave me this beautiful letter with wedding advice rolled up and tied in tulle, and I felt like I was graduating from wedding dress fitting school! I am so lucky i found Tran! My Wedding dress was complex to say the least, not just a hem with slight adjustments. My Wedding was delayed due to covid for over a year and within that year, many things happened... such as having a baby! My dress needed a lot of work AND i was a little unhappy with how much of my back was exposed. OMG.. Tran of Designer Touch Group is seriously a lifesaver/guardian angel/amazing. I called Designer Touch Group to see if they could alter my wedding dress. I ended up talking to Tran who asked when I was getting married and I told her.. um in less than 2 weeks and I am desperate. I was originally going to use a family friend but they had a family emergency and could no longer alter my dress. She said to me "Okay, let's see what we can do. I had a cancellation at 1pm.. can you come in?" I immediately said "Yes! Anytime works for me. I will come whenever you need me! Thank you thank you thank thank you!" When I got to the store, she had me try on my dress to see what kind of work needed to get done. She came up with a game plan of what was needed. I had a wedding gown that needed a lot of material taken in and bustled. Tran, did an amazing and creative job on every detail. She is a professional and has an amazing eye for detail and style. Tran saved my dress! I knew Tran was the go-to person with all the detailed questions she asked even before she agreed to take me on as a customer. I was elated when she agreed to help me on such short notice! She let out my dress and added a corset. The corset was beautiful, especially with the square knots. She spent an entire hour with my sister teaching her to how tie the corset perfectly for the big day. She put in nice breast cups so that I didn't have to wear a bra. She made a rhinestone sash because I needed some bling. She also made a bolero for me to cover up for the church ceremony. And the 5-point bustle for the reception was gorgeous. Each appointment was about an hour or so. But I even stayed for two hours once or twice - and I did not mind one bit! I knew Tran had an eye for detail, that she was a perfectionist. Tran is a designer by trade so she has an eye for what looks good too. Oh and on top of that, Tran is so personable and kind. She is easy to talk to and makes you feel totally comfortable. So in the end, Tran altered my fit-and-flare dress to an exquisite fit on my body, to give me an hourglass figure that I don't even have! I'm truly grateful for her expertise and skills. I have brought my dresses to Designer Touch since high school to get hemmed and fitted and Tran never ceases to amaze me! She even tailored all of my pleated skorts for my middle school uniform.
