Love this place it's my go too spot never disappointed. The food is good although I never dine in I always order take out.

Mom and pop restaurant small and homey. I was serviced timely and fast. The food is fire I always order from them the only critique I have is the potatoes not being crunchy but it overall gives soul food made by black people. I had tilapia cheesy grits eggs sausage potatoes and sliced bread. I ordered Togo

I was visiting family in the north Miami area and they brought me to Derry's for a late breakfast/early lunch. I had fried snapper abs cheese grits, with potatoes and the food was amazing. I went to a few spots and ordered the same ordered the same dish, which were good, but Derry's dish always tasted better. I will definitely go there again when I'm down in north Miami.

Derry's Restaurant is a hidden gem. The food was so delicious and seasoned! Our waiter, Paula was the most sweetest person. She really took care of us and was so caring when serving us. It's honestly little things like that, that will make me a returning customer.

Oh man, where do I start man shots out to Dre's restaurant listen the best breakfast. I think all the South Florida service is amazing. The people are great. It's a vibe that unmatched listen this place is what it's all about this place is what it's all about the people in there are so inviting. They take their time to explain what's on the menu. They even give you their thoughts and what they think about the food at I done been their two times and I ain't stopping.

*should be a no star but not an option.* UNACCEPTABLE DERRY'S RESTAURANT OWNER!!! I just left your establishment at 1135 am. on 5/26/24. We walked in, and a young lady politely asked a waitress if they were still seating anyone, and she immediately said, "No." She tells us that we can't be seated and the wait time is about 30-40 minutes for take out...really? There was an open table and one table that was leaving. You had about 3-4 ppl at the counter and maybe 3-4 tables seated. Either you are a "sit down" restaurant, or you are a "take out" only restaurant. I get small business, and I was trying to patronize a "staple" Black owned business as a person of color myself, but this type of service is embarrassing and not professional. You clearly have a sign that says "Open," and your business hours are advertised closing at 2pm. It appears other patrons that entered after me were turned away as well. What a shame. Do better!

This is the perfect breakfast spot with great options. Portion size is perfect. Fish fried to perfection. The eggs and grits were also really good!!! The pancake was HUGE! One was enough for me but if you like a stack, just keep in mind the size of these cakes are really big! They also have a small hint of cinnamon which tasted really good. Highly recommend. They close at 2 so make sure you get there early.

I am originally from Buffalo New York and once upon a time there was a famous soul food restaurant called GG's which had the best soul food breakfast.  Derry's Fish & Grits took me back to that moment in my youth. Derry's is not much to look at.  It is a little shabby hole in the wall.  The service is slow, but the servers are phenomenal.  And the food is OMG delicious. Sat in a small booth on a Sunday, listening to gospel piping from a corner of the diner. Sipping coffee which was not the best, but it was fresh and taking in the ambiance of the Sunday morning soul food breakfast that I fondly remember. If you are coming to Derry's, you are coming for the warming atmosphere and the great food.  They serve you with paper cups for hot drinks and Styrofoam for cold drinks.  Plastic plates, forks, knives and spoons.  Not pretentious at all, just good old home style soul food. My breakfast here was memorable and can't wait to come back.

Food was okay, definitely average. Service was poor. This is a family owned business and I love that they knew most of the customers by name. My cashier was literally sitting at the bar texting while my food was sitting on the counter waiting to be bagged. I ordered for a Mother's Day brunch and we had so much food left over because it wasn't good. Potatoes weren't seasoned, waffles were soggy not not fully cooked, pancakes were decent, sausage looked disgusting that not one of staff wanted to try! They looked dry and over cooked and we ended up throwing out and wasting $169. Bacon was okay and definitely not crispy and lots of grease in the pan! We asked for plates and was told there are none, but we were charged for individual meals and gratuity. I also tried the grits, eggs, tilapia. The tilapia was fried too hard. Grits needed salt. Place was clean and pretty busy at times!

The food is a 10/10. It's a hole in the wall place, but it's clean and the staff is nice.

*I can only state what I saw and experienced. Extreme chaos. Arrived at 8:55 am. Parking is extremely tight. Inside is even tighter. The staff and cooks seemed to be overwhelmed and no organization until finally I believe the owner or manager came in. But even after her coming in there were some confusion with orders. We ordered about 15 minutes after being seated. PACK YOUR PATIENCE! It took about 45 minutes to get our order. Customers were leaving because they couldn't wait any longer. Take out was scary crazy. They stopped taking orders on the phone because they were backed up. But if your looking for a small town diner feel, this is definitely the place to go. All the traditional meals. ***** Menu have no prices on them. ****** Food: Hands down seasoned to perfection. The French toast were so delicious! The corn beef hash were seasoned so well. Shrimp & Grits - unfortunately will not order again. It was okay but I know my shrimp and grits and unfortunately this was not for me. Staff were sweet. Price, well a bit high for what you get but everything is high prices these days. Will I go back again, maybe for lunch.

The menu states that all dishes are cooked to order so allow atleast 45 minutes but we were pleasantly surprised to be served within 20. I had the Keto Breakfast with a side of toasted ciabatta and my friend had the Modern Egg sandwich on ciabatta. I've never been so satisfied eating healthy. It was so tasty and savory; the prosciutto and smoked salmon were fresh and we both had enough to save for later The service was great and a man who happened to be one of the owners, tended to us. The cherry on top was learning that it's partially black owned. This fact made me so happy because to me thats what community looks like - a neighborhood gem.

Super disappointed with this place…read more Pros: The potatoes and eggs were good & the hot sauce has great flavor! Cons: First thing I did was use the restroom which had a horrible smell and the toilet needed cleaning. The service was good at first then fell off after we ordered our food- which was strange because it was not busy at all. We ordered the screwdriver & peach Bellini to drink. Steak & eggs and the Untoasted breakfast + side of ham. The screwdriver had an odd taste & the ham was extremely soft/squishy/seemed uncooked internally. The steak was not cooked well- but acceptable enough to eat. Our server never checked on us after we got our food which sucks because we needed a few things. A different server ended up walking by much later and asked if we needed help which is when I told her I'd like to send back the ham and screwdriver- both of which I barely took a bite/sip out of. I just told her I didn't like them and she got a bit of an attitude and wanted specifics as to why I didn't like it. I just reiterated i didn't like it and won't be consuming either so please take it back. We finished our food and no one ever came to our table again- while the workers were walking around helping the 5 other tables or talking amongst themselves. After sitting for 15+ minutes with our finished food, I just went to the front and waited for someone to check us out. I don't recommend this place and will not be back.

I had to remind myself that I had gone in there with a mission to buy cinnamon buns and to not be swayed by all the goodies they had to offer. Donuts, apple fritters and cakes were among the items trying to tempt me. The cinnamon buns came unfrosted or with frosting so I got the ones with frosting because who can pass up homemade cream cheese frosting? The interior and decor is very clean and captivating. Creating the perfect environment to enjoy a nice meal or drink. The cocktail menu was very impressive! The coffee was good and the custom glass wear it was served in made for an elevated coffee experience. After browsing the menu, the Shakshuka called my name! The perfect bowl of tomato sauce with peppers and onions. The spices were fragrant and created a very balanced dish and of course the eggs were perfectly cooked and runny when you break into them. After a savory breakfast the sweet tooth kicked in. Our server suggested the cheesecake that came with a table side pour of chocolate. The only downside to this dessert was I didn't want to share it lol I would literally come back here just for that cheesecake it was that freaking good.
