I have tried TWICE to walk in on a weekend with no luck. You need a reservation if you're coming on the weekend. This time I decided to come for breakfast, 8:30am on a Friday and it was easy with no wait. Friendly service and an abundance of options, I went with the classic breakfast sandwich on sourdough with an almond joy coffee - it was a great way to start my day. You'll feel homey in this completely vintage outfitted location. When it's busy it seemed a little cramped but during off peak hours it was very chill. Not enough cafes offer coffee flights and while I didn't order it this time - I know I'll be back and order it with a plus 1.
A small cozy coffee shop is a lovely experience. We step out of our comfort zone and really enjoyed the food and drinks. We loved the Hummus Na'an. My wife had the drip coffee and enjoyed the freshness of the brew and I was thrilled with the Flirty Chai - the rose aroma was delightful. We also polished off a slice of walnut loaf. We appreciated the patient and loving guidance from Hector as he answered our questions. We will be back!
I went on Sunday the 23rd of June as part of the Yelp team and wow it was packed with waits of 1 hour 1/2 for dining in or Take out, but it was all worth it. The service was top-notch, even with the rush and the number of people in the restaurant, but wow Geoffrey took my order with the biggest smile and attention was the best, took time to give me recommendations on what I could order, and so many people not being too nice to him never lost his smile and jolly attitude treated everyone with utmost respect. Marie in the Tea and coffee station, poor girl was getting the worst I wanted to jump and help her but again was always with a positive attitude and a smile that lit up the room. Rafael was one of a kind all over the place at every station helping out and making sure I got my drink order and food like it was supposed to I even changed my drink and he accommodated detail by detail. Kudos to the modern Rose Holly wood staff all of you are wonderful warriors I would have fainted in that situation LOL.... The food was delicious and every plate that came out looked fabulous and super yummy I took a few photos as they came out. I had the modern-day pizza - Warm and soft naan flatbread cooked with muenster and mozzarella cheeses, two fried eggs, pesto, tomato, basil, prosciutto di parma, and a balsamic glaze. Dulce de Leche Macaroon's colors were beautiful and the taste was to die for. I also had the Rejuvenate Boba Tea which has agave, watermelon, and cucumber very refreshing. They have so many great choices on the menu that will keep me coming back over and over. Thank you again and to all the amazing staff.
Horrible service. We came here for a quick meal (or so we thought). They told us the wait was about 20-30 minutes, we accepted it and waited in the car. After about 25 minutes we came back, they said they still didnt have a table although we saw so many people come in and sit. We continued to wait. There was a table outside that had been free the entire tome so we just sat down to continue to wait. After about 10 minutes the person came and asked if we just wanted to sit there anyway, we said yes. After 10 minutes the waiter came to bring us water. It took him waiter another 20 minutes to come take our order. Then, another 30-40 minutes for the food to come, just for them for bring it without silverware. I had to walk in to go get the silverware. At this point we were so frustrated. The food was good and the only reason i'm giving it 3 stars, but we will not be going back to this location. It is also on the overpriced side considering they have mainly toast.

There is also additional parking behind the building, and there is a rear entrance. There is a very wide selection of teas. They come hot and cold, but they do recommend some that are cold. I got the passion fruit mango tea. It tasted very good with just enough sweetness. I definitely recommended the cold teas during these hot summers. On the food side, I got the modern egg sandwich. It was very tasty. Both sides of the bread was toasted and seasoned. It was almost like a bruschetta sandwich. The egg cooker perfectly with just a little run. Would definitely get this again. I also had the almond chocolate bread. It came straight from the cooler. I would recommend getting it warmed up. The taste and texture was much richer when I let it warm up to room temperature. Come enjoy a nice venue with great food and a great selection.
Came to modern rose on my last morning in South Florida. How did I manage so many years without knowing about Modern Rose. We tasted the avacado flight and the croissant with brie and blueberries. It was by far the best avacado toast I have had in South Florida. The version with the smoke salmon was delicious. The toast with the corn was yummy as well. While I can't believe it, the croissant stole the show. Our server was enthusiastic and we could tell he loved the food as well. He gave great suggestions and even mentioned ideas he had to enhance the already great options. I love seeing people who are excited about food and willing to share. The decor was giving English tea shop. It was cute and eclectic. I've already suggested this place to at least 5 friend irl and it's worth sharing here as well!
This is a hidden gem of a brunch spot. You feel like you are sitting in a story book. Parking was easy to find, there are spots in front and located behind the Rose. When I walked in I was greeted by all the staff. It was a very warm and welcoming environment. It was packed when I got there. They told me I could seat where I wanted. The tables, chairs, and sofas are a creative set up. The menu is packed with a selection of amazing items, from avocado toast, sandwiches, salads, to sweet breakfast items. I ordered a matcha latte and the avocado toast with smoked salmon to go. The presentation of the food is gorgeous, and eating it was divine. I will be going back again soon to try more items on the menu. There was too much to choose that looked so good. Thank you for an amazing experience.
My experience at The Modern Rose cafe was great, they truly earned their title of being one of the Best Cafes in Florida. Contrary to its name, The Modern Rose has a beautiful vintage aesthetic. I sat on this lovely and comfortable orange couch surrounded by vintage knick-knacks, furniture, and books. The decorum was delightful. I also really enjoyed the music definitely 80s-90s jam -- Uptown Girl by Elton John was the last song I enjoyed before leaving. The food was so yummy it's the best meal I've had from a cafe all year. At the recommendation of my awesome server Juancho aka Juan, I got the Tulum Sammie and Eva's Banana Chai Latte. I had no regrets! The meal had a really good portion size for its price. The sandwich was so filling I was only able to get through half of the one-half. The flavor profiles were way better than I initially presumed, it gave Mexican street food meets brunch. The combination of the Elote seasoned corn, Crema, and yolky eggs was complimented well by the creaminess of the avocado and the crunchy Tuscan toast. There's also pesto and tomato in the sandwich adding a bit of an Italian twist to it, to top it off you get the cheesy combo of Muenster and mozzarella cheese. Don't forget the delicious and spicy chili flake oil as a great additive, it enhances with a kick. The drink came in the cutest blue mug and in a 16 oz portion. Eva's Banana Chai was a wonderful blend of flavors with a crunchy finish of almonds. I love tea! Especially nontraditional flavors like rooibos. The almond foam and cinnamon topping was a new one for me and now I'm making it a staple in my drinks. (I normally do sweet cream foams or salted caramel foams). I have to come back with my friends they'll love it here! P.S I love a good yolky egg -- they cooked it perfectly to my liking. P.P.S. The toast on the sandwich can be substituted -- they have Ezekial bread ! P.P.P.S This location is their largest.

Hands down, the best breakfast or brunch spot. No question. Right off the bat, this place has such a cozy, homey vibe that you can just sit down, eat, and relax. Such wonderful, eclectic decor. The staff are so kind and friendly, and it's like you're at a friend's house sitting down to have a meal. The best coffee and tea options. All of them are so unique but done so well. Their Blue Eyes Iced Coffee is SO GOOD. Perfect blend of coffee to blueberry, just sweet enough, and the cold foam gives it just enough of that creamy texture. So good! But their avocado toasts... Delicious! They have so many options - best bet is to go for their Avocado Toast Flight. You'll get to try 4 of their best toasts. The Just Keep Swimming has a generous serving of fresh smoked salmon - great start to the morning. The Some Like it Spicy is a delicious twist on the classic elote. B-egg-con was heavier, but was like an open-faced breakfast sandwich packed with all the classics - egg, bacon, avocado, and the best of cheeses. We ended up coming here twice on our trip to Miami because it was that good. Wish we lived closer so we could keep eating our way through their toast options!
Came here around brunch time on a Sunday! Boy was it busy!! The service was not lacking in any way though with numerous people checking in to see if we needed help and multiple check-ins. The ambiance and decor was very vintage and unique. Definitely an experience in itself! As for the food and drinks they were quite a wait (about an hour for the entree) but everything else came out fast! The food was awesome so I'd definitely come back again but probably earlier or during the week and not the weekend. Also the apple pie was super cute! Also got the Some Like It Spicy and it put me on to Avo Toast for future visits.
The cutest atmosphere and the most friendly people. It's not officially open, but I know it will do well once it is. Located off of Hollywood Blvd in a strip plaza, it offers plenty of parking. It's spacious. I'd say it has more seating options than the other locations. The seating is all antique and floral and just beautiful. I went in on a Friday morning, and they were just opening and were more than accommodating to get me out on my way in a timely fashion. There's so many food and drink options to choose from and it was not an easy choice so I got what was recommended. I got the churro cold brew. I normally don't love cold brew, but this was delicious. The blueberry drink and lavender were my other choices, but everything sounds fantastic. I got an apple rose pastry and totally forgot to capture it because I just dug right in. They warmed it up and it was delicious. I so badly wanted the toast flight but I took my order to go, so I'll just have to get back. Definitely a great spot for a coffee date with friends. Go here, you won't regret it. I will always support the local coffee/tea shops, the quality is way better!
What a charming little spot for a spectacular breakfast with the wife. A vast awry of coffees and teas to warm you up. And an amazing menu using fresh ingredients dashed with love to fill your belly. We are so glad to have discovered The Modern Rose. The eclectic atmosphere makes you feel cozy with that "at Grandma's house" feeling. Rafael and Rafael took care of every little detail and made the place very inviting and special for each customer as they arrived. Our daughter will love this spot on her next visit home from school.
This is a hidden gem- While we didn't try the food, the drinks were delicious. What made the visit truly special was the ambiance. Every item in the café, from the chairs to the cups and plates, was a unique, one-of-a-kind piece, giving the space a creative and charming essence. I'm so happy we decided to give this place a try. It has so much character! Very vibrant on the eyes, the space reminds you of a knick knacks shop We were short on time so we ordered light. The menu states that all dishes are cooked to order so allow atleast 45 minutes but we were pleasantly surprised to be served within 20. I had the Keto Breakfast with a side of toasted ciabatta and my friend had the Modern Egg sandwich on ciabatta. I've never been so satisfied eating healthy. It was so tasty and savory; the prosciutto and smoked salmon were fresh and we both had enough to save for later The service was great and a man who happened to be one of the owners, tended to us. The cherry on top was learning that it's partially black owned. This fact made me so happy because to me thats what community looks like - a neighborhood gem. read more
This place is so quaint and feels wonderfully homey! We came here for a book club meeting and ended up having an amazing discussion with the staff about Broadway shows and books--they were so engaging and fun to chat with. I ordered the Dragon Tea, which was super refreshing, and the Some Like It Spicy avocado toast, which totally delighted my taste buds. The flavors were spot on! Reservations are highly recommended--it was quite busy. Even with reservations, we had to wait a little while, but honestly, the incredible food made it completely understandable. The bananas foster French toast was so good! I met up here with friends and there was a long wait however the ambiance and food did not disappoint. We had excellent service too! I would like to go back midweek sometime to see what is like when it's not so crowded. read more
Parking is a bit chaotic and difficult (they also have parking in the back), but inside, its cute, welcoming, the staff is joyful and kind and the food was great. Be prepared to wait for a table, since this place does get packed. read more
Had brunch here and it was delish. I had the churro cold brew and the some like it spicy avocado toast with an egg white added on top. I got my daughter two eggs and bacon and she cleared her plate! We sat outside because it was a bit loud inside and we had the kids. We were able to order right from our table online which was very convenient with the little ones and the staff who brought out our items were so nice and accommodating. read more

Eclectic little cafe with a yummy breakfast. I had a rose cappuccino a better than croissant and a side of eggs and everything was delicious. The waiter was friendly and the ambience was calm and cozy. We came early on a Thursday and it was not packed. I tried coming on a Sunday and people were waiting outside in a line. Grabbed an iced coffee otw home from FLL airport. It was packed on a Sunday afternoon. I went to the cashier and quickly picked a coffee to go. The ambiance is very cutesy, very mindful and the staff are super welcoming. The iced coffee was perfect - cold, splash of milk and plenty of ice. I will definitely be back for brunch! read more

Adorable local coffee and tea shop with delicious sandwiches. The Becky was a great portion on rustic bread with amazing bacon came with a side salad. The Sammie was tasty but not as filling. Yet another pleasant Modern Rose experience! I had tried one location prior near Deerfield but had not tried this location in Hollywood nor the one in FTL and it's been on my brunch list for a while. I was so satisfied with both the food and ambience. Interesting to know that this location has table service whereas the Deerfield location I had been to prior did not - a more order at the counter experience. Josh was our server this Wednesday morning and he was great. He helped my guest and I figure out which entree we would like to try. I was so happy with the Tulum Sammie as it was both a flavorful and a good portion - well worth the menu price of $15 unlike some other brunch places that serve a kids-meal portion for similar price. We took half our left overs home to eat for later. Be prepared to sit at some shared tables if needed and make friends :) read more

I joined the waiting list at The Modern Rose via the Yelp app, and when I realized I was running late, I canceled and re-added myself to the list. The staff went out of their way to call and confirm, letting me know I wouldn't lose the table despite the delay--such a nice touch! Once we arrived, we were seated right away, though it took about 15 minutes for someone to come by with menus or offer water. However, once our server arrived, he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the menu thoroughly and shared recommendations with us. Our specialty drinks--a lavender latte for me and an Aphrodi-TEA for my friend--arrived first and were absolutely delicious. The food came shortly after, which was faster than expected. I would've loved a bit more time to enjoy my hot drink before the food, but we sipped as we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. Even though it was a bit of a drive, I'd definitely come back for the quality service, food, and drinks. read more

I am a big fan of Modern Rose. I've been to all 3 of their locations (Deerfield, Ft. Lauderdale & Hollywood). I first heard about them thru a Yelp Elite event over a year ago and have been raving about them since. The service is also amazing and the employees so nice. The food and drinks are always aesthetically gorgeous, delicious, and healthy. I have had several menu items so will describe my thoughts on all: - avocado toast- I've had the modern avocado toast, some like it spicy, just keep swimming, summer in Venice, and the Venetian and I like them all. Their avocado toasts are actually my fave food of theirs. My favorite out of them is some like it spicy, 2nd favorite is the summer in venice. - Lotus Flower Bomb - while I love banana bread, I was skeptical to get this bc I do not like cookie butter and was worried the cookie butter would be overpowering. I was wrong. It's perfectly balanced, sweet w/o being too sweet, and the banana bread is so moist and delicious, and it's topped with bruleed bananas. It's served with two eggs. It's amazing. Get it. - Modern Egg sandwich - it's an egg and cheese sandwich. It's ok. - Tulum Sammie - sooooo good! It basically tastes like a mix of some like it spicy avocado toast and an egg sandwich. - Tuscan sammie- this sounded better than it actually was. It was ok. I wouldn't get again. The drinks I have tried are: - Creamy London - love this. Highly recommend if you like earl grey tea. Get it hot. - Caramel crème brûlée - love this. My favorite drink of theirs. Get it hot. - Eva's banana chai latte - sounded better than it actually was. I thought I would love it but didn't like it. I wouldn't order again. - Churro cold brew - hated this. But if you like cold brew you may like I have more pics of their other dishes in my other Modern Rose reviews. The moral of the story is...go to Modern Rose!! read more

The Modern Rose has a charming, vintage ambiance, though I feel some of the furniture could use an upgrade as a few pieces were quite stained, which didn't leave the best first impression (just my opinion). That being said, the service was impeccable from the moment we walked in. The host and our server were both incredibly sweet and attentive, especially considering we had two fussy, hungry babies with us. As for the food and coffee, it was average for us. I tried their off-menu French Toast with an Almond Joy latte, and my partner had the Modern Sandwich (which I actually enjoyed more) and a Strawberry Lemonade. We also started with a croissant and blueberries. While none of the food really stood out, the excellent service makes us open to giving the cafe another try. A couple of things to note: the cafe is quite small, so seating may be tight, and parking was a bit of a hassle. Hope this helps anyone interested in checking it out! read more

Wow, the customer service from Josh, Rafael and Rafael-Antonio left an impact on our visit apart from the delicious drinks and food! We were welcome with warm smiles by Rafael and greeted even when they were so busy. They are very attentive during a busy rush. You can tell there's good team work in this establishment. I hope everyone gets to experience this. The food selection is wide & lots of variety to choose from with baked goods to pick from; they even offer to warm it up for you! We had their seasonal selections since they had standout ingredients. The vibes inside were vibrant and fairy-tale like with all types of seating. You order at the register but they bring you the food and stop provide great service unlike just getting your food and tending to yourself. It caught us by surprise! The food was much more enjoyable with banter from Josh and kindness from Rafael-Antonio. Thank you to these three guys and the kitchen! So I met a friend for a weekday brunch - no reservation needed during the week but they recommended one for weekend mornings. Such a cute spot and friendly employees!! I loved the atmosphere & decor. We had the London fog lattes. My friend had a fancy egg sandwich which she loved & crispy bacon, & I ordered the Better Than, Its a croissant with Brie cheese , blueberries, almonds & honey butter- Omg amazing!! I will definitely be back for that !! I felt like the lavender latte was the wrong choice since it was sweet & so was my meal. Next time I'll do a regular late with no sugar I also got the curry puff & galaxy macaroon for latter. Both were super Yumm. I should have got more puffs for the house. Went during lunch time so there was a 45 min wait that we were told, we probably waited 25-30 min. We knew the food was going to be good as we watched how many people were coming in and out lol. It was definitely worth the wait. Staff was friendly and attentive. The space itself is kind of small, I foresee them moving into a bigger location because the business traffic is definitely there. Parking was very limited up front but there is parking around back. The food, was so good! Everything was fresh and made to order, boba tea was everything. Brought a friend with me who is vegan and we're happy to see all of the vegan options on the menu. Everything was reasonably priced too. Definitely will be returning . This is a great breakfast/brunch spot. read more
WOW!!!! This place really surprised me, very vintage ambiance with delicious eatery. The staff was super accommodating and pleasant. I enjoyed my time here, the purkey turkey did NOT disappoint! The touch of thyme toasted on bread was a magical touch! I must go back to try more of their menu. Save yourself time and make reservations before you get to this place. I got lucky but I also waited an hour for a table. The coffee was amazing .... I never drank so much coffee in my life. The food was yummy. The food was very tasteful and good portions (enough to share). The staff was nice and attentive even tho they were so slammed with people. It's a small space. Loved this place. Service was a little slow but they were super busy so completely understandable! Didn't have a reservation and joined the waitlist and was able to be sat in less than 15 minutes which was great because the original wait time they had said was 30 minutes. Every worker was super friendly and checked up on us often. The food was amazing it tastes better than the picture looks! We sat outside and it wasn't hot which is a +++ for Florida summer lol.. will definitely be coming back to try other dishes everything sounded delicious ! read more

My wife and I had brunch at this place since it's been a hot commodity and wanted to try this out. We got there around 10 and it was a 45 minute wait. As we waited, I noticed that the decor was vintage, a touch of modernism, and chic. When we got seated, they placed us on a table with other people and that to me is a complete turn off. When I looked in there about section, nowhere, does it say that you would be sitting or share tables with parties you don't even know. I'm not sure if it is part of their layout but when I come in with a friend or with my wife, I plan on having conversation with my wife and nobody need to hear what we discuss. We had asked for another table and had to wait a couple more minutes and then we finally got seated at a small triangular table. As nice as it was, the geometry of triangle with circular plates will not go together. The host saw that and immediately bought us a little table to sit another one of our dishes, and I wasn't really feeling that. That was meant for just one person, not two people. I ordered the Fitbit and my wife ordered the Princess Diana greens and a berries sweet treat. We waited over an hour for our food and people that got seated after us were getting their food first. I had to ask the server where my wife's food was as she just ordered a salad and a dessert . Now we've been to Costa Rica, and we've understood that they take time to bring out, but the longest time was about 20 minutes. My wife and I have been customer service so we know that kitchen and how many people are working the kitchen will tell you how fast food comes out and that kitchen is very small, which doesn't help time. The customers near us were also complaining that they had to wait so long for their food as well. When are food finally arrived, my wife was burnt so she ate like one slice of it and ate her greens. My omelette was subpar. It wasn't a wow factor. I will say that their drinks were amazing. I had the Barack legend and my wife had the creamy London. Both of them were spectacular. I was expecting more from this establishment as service was good, the ambience was nice but the wait time and the food time just did not match what I expected for my palate. The only reason I would return is for the drinks, but after that, I don't think I would want to wait 45 minutes just for that. This place can be good for a group of people, a date if you want to bring your furry friend there are tables outside; but I do recommend that you have a lot of patience if you're trying to go on a Sunday. We didn't walk out until close to 1 PM and that was a lot of my day taken for me. read more
Absolutely amazing! My friend and I arrived without a reservation on a Sunday morning, which meant we'd have to wait about 40 minutes to be seated. We looked over the to-go menu so we knew what we'd want when we get seated. Needless to say, we wanted to try everything on the menu! After about 30 minutes the host sat us down and we went straight into it. We both ordered the lavender latte. I've had a lavender latte before so nothing out of the ordinary, but very delicious. The menu has so many signature drink options that I was overwhelmed (but in a good way) because I wanted to try them all! We ordered the avocado toast flight to share with two "some like it spicy" which is the elote one, one modern toast which is a basic avocado toast, and the venetian without prosciutto. In order of 0 to 100, the modern, the Venetian and some like it spicy. That elote flavorrrrr was amazing! I absolutely love elotes so the combination of both was so delicious! We also wanted something sweet so the waiter recommended the lotus flower bomb which is toasted banana coconut bread sliced spread with biscoff cookie butter and topped with bruleed bananas. It also comes with eggs but we opted out of that and asked if they can add strawberries to the order. Absolutely 100/10!!! The flavor was the right amount of perfect! Not toooo much that will make me feel repulsed but definitely got that sweet craving I wanted. All in all, the service was great, food presentation was beautiful and the flavor of everything was spectacular!! Would definitely come back over and over again! read more
Thank you Mia for this amazing event. This one of my favorite brunch spots. It does get pretty busy on the weekend and there is a wait time but the staff are so attentive and helpful. This place is so cute for a girl's brunch, it feels like tea party. I highly recommend this place. Everything so super delicious and it taste so fresh and healthy. The coffees and teas are so yummy and have so many options to choose from. read more
