I was disappointed with my visit to the Grand Cafe Hollywood. Although the food was good, the service was abysmal. The server forgot my order and one of our party had to get up to find him. The order was for a toasted bagel. The food was very expensive. A 12oz milkshake was $10. Despite a lengthy absence, I was presented a POS devise with the total and a second screen for a tip. Only after I asked and was told there was a 20% service fee already added into the bill. Had I not asked, he would have let me tip double. Had a delicious Greek salad paired with a side of tuna salad for lunch today. We also ordered the Ziva but it was brought out and it wasn't fully cooked. The person who brought out our food (not our waiter) seemed very annoyed. They brought back the Ziva a short time later and it was the exact same one just more well done. I find this very odd and unsanitary. It is a pricey restaurant. For our two items plus a Diet Coke the total came to $55. 20% service charge is automatically included. read more

Delicious kosher dairy which means good coffee and melted cheese, my favorite foods. Ordered a Ziva which I have never eaten before and it was so good with the puréed tomatos. Everything was perfect. Most people sat outside on the patio, but I like air conditioning. There were plenty of servers to fill my water and my coffee. I do not usually spend $40 for lunch, but it was worth it today. Man! This hidden gem is super great! The outside seating is covered from the environment and the fans keep the area very cool. They also have inside seating. The food was great and very Kosher! A very nice find! I was driving thru the area looking for some quality coffee. Found this place and I'm glad I did. It definitely has a euro feel, especially the outdoor seating. Inside there is plenty of seating as they have a full menu. I just had my usual latte and it was very good. The barista had great equipment to work with (La Marzocco) and clearly had some good training. The milk was well textured and at a good temperature. The crema on the drink was very thick! The flavor was strong, but overall was delicious to drink. If you're in the area and looking for some good coffee, I can recommend you give this place a try. read more

Grabbed lunch here for the first time on a Monday afternoon and can honestly say it exceeded expectations. Service was great, and the food was excellent. The menu is easy to follow and gives you lots of healthy options. Plus, I thought the decor and atmosphere/seating area was nice and relaxing. Music was also great too. Long but worth reading review - had a horrible experience today - let's begin with be prepared to pay a service fee and tip, which is already included in the check without you being advised or it being posted on their menu or anywhere else in the restaurant ((or was it added to our bill because they thought we weren't going to pay a tip)) The food was great, fresh ingredients - no complaints! When it comes to their customer service, there's a lot to be said about feeling welcomed in a restaurant where your skin complexion is more melanin (darker) than those who are sitting around you maybe because the restaurant is Israeli .... we are a family of diverse backgrounds and love to eat different foods, today was possibly the worst experience ever. Never would have I imagined the waiter would have questioned if we could pay a $2.00 fee for a change in our sides from salad to French fries. Well, guess what he did! He took our order, when we asked for fries instead of salad, he turned the little handheld and said it's $2.00 more and showed me the screen and looked at me and was waiting for a reply as I was sipping my coke! I shock my head yes, and he asked again and he didn't move on until I verbalized the words "ok, that's fine." Our food came out very fast before we were done with our burrata appetizer ... oh, here's a kicker, we ordered the burrata, the platter came out and I had to wave our waiter down for small plates because where and how were we suppose to eat it, on our hands?!?!? We never saw our waiter after the request for the small plates, he was around but didn't even bother to check in once the food came out, nor did he bring the check it's as if he was bothered with our presence! The ambiance seemed to be welcoming just not for us, we paid $90 for a meal where the staff clearly didn't want to be bothered by us - we were 3/4's of the way done with our sandwiches when someone came to ask if everything was ok, we asked for a side of spicy mayo and finished what we had left. We sat outside, the restaurant wasn't full at all, one table inside, one table outside was finishing up - another family of 5 sat down and a large table of 8 - more than enough staff working and hanging out inside so no excuse for us being ignored. I have lived in Hollywood for 40 years, proud Latina, often go to the Grove market in the same plaza and our dog's vet is in the same plaza, today we were looking for laid back, chill vibes and I have to say the entire experience gave me indigestion. When you have a restaurant in a diverse community be prepared to accept people of all races and backgrounds just because you're in "Emerald Hills" doesn't mean you aren't a part of Hollywood! Such a great find in this shopping center! Extensive menu with so many delicious and amazing option. It was so hard to choose! We started with crispy rice, which was just phenomenal. Decently sized pieces and jam packed with flavor! For my meal I ordered the salmon zen bowl. Although it was pricey, it was a large serving with SO much flavor! 1/5/22 I've been here a number of times but had not come for a while. I brought a family member here tonight. We came at a good time and had our choice of tables. We sat outside. Ordered Iced coffees which were great. My brother ordered hummus with pita. It was just mediocre. The pita was soft but tasted packaged. The hummus was not great either. He asked for well toasted pita and was charged for another side of bread. He also ordered the mushroom salad which he enjoyed. I ordered the fettuccine with creamy pesto. It was cold, and the sauce appeared to have just been poured on top without being mixed well. They offered to reheat it but I did not come for reheated food. Fortunately I was able to order something else instead. I ordered the tuna salad plate which was fresh and tasty. For dessert we ordered the breakfast waffle to share. They accidentally brought us the nutella brownie instead. We ended up having both. They were both excellent. The food here was not as good as I remember it from the past. The service was great. Grand Cafe is a European inspired cafe which has breakfast, lunch, dinner options. I was in the area and needed to go somewhere near by so I stopped here for a to go order. I honestly just wanted a good latte or cappuccino. For sit down seating they have a good amount of tables out doors as well as indoors. Since, I had never been there, I saw they had a host stand out side the entrance. So I wasn't exactly sure if I go inside or wait outside. My whole experience was that the employees were stand-off. When I inquired, one employee said just to go inside and order at the counter for to go. Once at the counter no one greeted me or gave me a menu. I was looking around and found some menus at the side. When I got one employees attention then asked about the fresh goods in the window display. I got one patty with potato filling and one with cheese filling. Not sure of the names since it wasn't on display. The two little appetizers were pretty good. Can't say enough great things about Grand Cafe! Location of this cafe is perfect with the abundant indoor/outdoor seating and ample parking to boot. Wait staff was super nice and didn't rush us off even after us nursing our drinks and ordering later. Everything was really delicious, portions very generous, and price point was exactly where it should for each item we ordered. Highlights were the cheese and housemade pesto stuffed portabello mushroom caps that were so full of flavor, the creamy avocado panini pressed sammie, the batata extravaganza:sweet potato fries topped with some gently fried walnuts, cherry tomatoes, tangy feta cheese and a mesculin mix was addicting and delicious, and the hummus took a while to get because they make fresh for each order and it was worth the wait! Just tried this place yesterday. It is kosher, and one of the people in my party only eats Kosher. The place has a nice atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is vast and the service was very attentive. I ordered a salmon wrap that came with a salad. It was delicious. You could taste that the salmon was cooked just right even within all the fixin's in the wrap. The salad also tasted very fresh and good. The price I believe was fair for salmon and kosher. The only thing I wondered about is why they don't serve falafel as most kosher restaurants do. I would definitely like to come here again. read more

Woke up this morning still dreaming about the INCREDIBLE Grand Cafe Breakfast that my friend and I wolfed down yesterday! We shared a whole ton of food and I can't explain how delicious everything was! The highlight was the breakfast platter for 2 including yoghurt and coconut granola, a large Israeli salad, two eggs cooked as per your request (sunny side up for me ) and a huge variety of dips and spreads including fresh labneh with za'atar, tuna mayo, avocado, egg salad, salty white cheese, yellow cheese, hummus and tahini and sundried tomato dip. Not only is their presentation stunning, their food unquestionably delicious and their portions generous, but what really stands out at Grand Cafe is their service. Nothing Grand about the Grand Cafe. This was my second visit to the Grand Cafe. The cafe had about six tables occupied. My wife and I ordered two coffees and two breakfast specials. We were enjoying the outdoor ambiance. After 20 minutes, the waitress asked us if we were ready to pay our bill. I thought she was pranking us, or I was in the Twilight Zone. We never received our food. The restaurant was not busy, and waitress was not apologetic, she did not send over a manager, and she did not offer to say no charge for the coffees. Also, they do not tell you that a gratuity is automatically added to your coffees. The way the staff handled us, simply says horrible customer service. We will never return to this restaurant. If I want breakfast before shopping at the Grove Supermarket, I will go to Kosher Dunkin Donuts which is a few blocks away. read more

Ordered the Ahi Tuna Shawarma (my breakfast) it was good enough but the fish was inconsistent, some cooked all the way and some slightly tanned... some with raw center. The humus was so-so and the dish was a little on the greasy side overall. If I was staying at the same hotel with the same continental breakfast that includes eggs poured from a carton ‍ I would try the Grand Café again and order something different. Came with my family and we were really disappointed by the food and service here. We came in on a Sunday and the inside of the place smelled a little weird. We couldn't tell exactly what that smell was, so we sat outside. We were seated quickly, but nothing else was quick after that. Until a waiter came to us over 20 minutes had passed, and the restaurant wasn't even that busy! After we ordered another 20 minutes had passed until we finally got our food. We all weren't impressed with our meals; the quality didn't live up to the price. Nothing was standout or super flavorful. Also, it took us 3 waiters and over 40 minutes to get glasses of water... The only thing that was tasty was the limonana we got. Won't be coming back here, there are better dairy kosher places in the area that are more worth going to. read more

Located just a few doors down from Walgreens, my wife and I came here for breakfast before picking up some medications. We live very close by and come to Walgreens all the time, but never really paid a visit here. After reading a few reviews from fellow Yelpers, we thought to try it ourselves. I love seeing pictures printed on the menu so we know exactly what we are going to get. After seeing how good the food looked, we can't wait to try the foods. One thing good about being on Yelp is: you get free stuff! Free coffee with check in? Scored!! My wife got her cappuccino and I went with the ice tea. For my entree, I picked the croissant deluxe. The croissant was lightly toasted with salmon, cream cheese and sunny side eggs. Wow it was so delicious. The nice running egg yolk did it for me. My wife had their croque madam. It also had smoked salmon, tomatoes, presto sauces, red onions served on ciabatta bread and of course, two sunny side eggs. I liked the presto sauce and always enjoy a nice piece of smoked salmon. I like their service. The staff is friendly and comes by and checking up with us often. Food arrived pretty quickly. Since my first review, the menu has not changed much, but the outdoor seating has upgraded substantially with new flooring and planters leaving the inside seating relatively open during the week... Today's adventure was to try the traditional Israeli dish Shakshuka Loca for the first time. I was not sure what to expect. The covered outdoor patio was busy but very well spaced and cool with an unsuspected breeze. Many salad options to choose from (definitely coming back for the warm mushroom salad) but went with the classic tuna salad salad and was very pleased. Cold, fresh, flavorful and a beautiful presentation... didn't even need dressing. I am a snob for iced tea and THE TEA ALONE was just as freshly brewed as it could be. So happy to find this cafe. No wonder it's been here for over 10 years. To top it off, the service was impressive. Impressive. Too often are experiences sub par due to the service - but not here.
