Sub centers is the best shop you can go to satisfy your sub/sandwich craving. My favorite that I'm always willing to take a little drive for. The shop is quaint and has been serving subs since '61 and is small, family owned. The staff greet you and tend to you quickly but the service is 1 of 1. They treat each other like friends and family, they're all just trying to make their sub order better than the one they just made. The employees are so nice and patiently ask what toppings you want. Everything is customised. We had white bread, spicy mayo, secret oil and vinegar, hot cherry peppers, and jalapeños. Sooooooooooooo good. We also had a chicken and bacon sub loaded with toppings (jalapeño peppers, mushrooms, bell peppers, spinach, olives, lettuce, cucumbers). Visited Sub Center and I must say it's one of those sub spots that you can eat everyday! I got the 12" hot chicken sub with grilled mushrooms and ghost pepper cheese and it did not disappoint. The staff was extremely friendly and guided me with all the choices that I had. Most sub shops are really rushed and really fast but maybe I came at a right time but the customer service was great. Food was OK and the service was terrible. There were three gentleman in the back working in sync and a lady in the front who just yelled and had a nasty attitude the entire time. My husband said he was placing an order to go and she snapped at him to hold on. Then right after asked "ok what do you want" and as he was speaking she snapped again asking "Ok but what size". This is my favorite sub spot. The staff is always on point and super energetic. Sometimes they'll have some good music on. Subs are always a hit with my friends and family they pretty much prepare it all in front of you. Downside is it's a little small and can get crowded easily when ordering but never had an issue. My fav thing about this place was the heath cookies, they are addicting. Sadly I don't think they're serving these anymore. I would literally buy them like 6 at a time. My son wanted Philly cheesesteak after swimming at Hollywood beach and Came across this hole in the wall sandwich shop after reading some good reviews and sure enough it didn't disappoint. Wasn't able to take pictures since we were too hot and hungry already. You walk in and it's just a glass counter separating you and like 6 workers making sandwiches . They were pretty quick and came in around lunch time and still didn't take long for them to make 3 whole subs! They were huge and full of flavor. Couldn't finish in one sitting so we took half of it to take home. They only have outdoor sitting with umbrellas so sun won't be breaking on you while you devour your sandwich. They have the best philly cheesesteak sandwich in Florida. On the grill, they cook thin pieces of steak, bell pepper, onions, and mushrooms. I top my sandwich with melted ghost pepper cheddar cheese and provolone. Then hot pepper spread, jalapenos, banana peppers, spicy mayo, oil and vinegar. They are located near the corner of Hollywood Blvd. & 441 in Hollywood, Florida. There is plenty of parking in the front and they have outdoor tables which is where we ate. This is a traditional sub shop offering hot and cold subs, salads, beverages, chips, and a few type of desserts. I enjoyed learning that this is a family owned business since 1961. I've been here once before years ago and really enjoyed it so since we were visiting someone in the area, I wanted to give it another try with the hopes I would enjoy it just as much as I did the first time. I decided to try a sub from here because I noticed every time I pass this place or go to the custard place next door its usually packed. The sub center been in Hollywood for many years and seem to be a icon to the area. The reviews were great on Yelp so I said must give it a try. The place is extremely small. They only allow 2-3 people inside at a time. Many people had to wait outside before they are allowed to come inside. Its mostly a take out spot. I think I did see a table outside on the side of the building but not sure. I ordered a hot Italian sub and it was good. It would've been better if they didn't toast my bread. I wish they would've told me. I didn't like the toasted taste of the bread. I also didn't care for screaming across the counter what I want on my sub. The guy didn't hear me say oil and vinegar and wrap up my sub quickly. I end up having to ask for it on the side. This sub shop is next door to our favorite ice cream place (Siciliano's Frozen Custard). We always have wanted to try it. A bad incident about a month ago at around 9:30 p.m. prevented us from getting food. And we were angry. Last night, we found ourselves heading home to Central Broward from my Mom's North Miami condo and starving. We hadn't eaten since lunch at noon. We decided to get ice cream for dinner. And to get over the bad incident and get some subs. We ordered a pastrami with deli mustard and a Philly steak with swiss cheese and (well-cooked) peppers, onions, and mushrooms and took both subs home for a late dinner (eating our ice cream as we drove home). The 6-inch pastrami sub was OK. But it tasted kinda washed out. Not enough pastrami flavor for me. The Philly steak was filled with meat (it was a 12-inch sub) and the veggies were cooked well, as we had requested, and rolled into that thick, delicious wad of steak. Though the meat was a tad salty for me, it was delicious and filling. The best part was the bread. It's not the normal crusty sub bread. It's soft and tasty with each bite of it accentuating its contents. We ate so fast, I forgot to take photos. But you don't need them. Your taste buds will be the true critic of these subs. read more

I've been eating here since 2004, and contrary to what was opined in a recent 3 star review, NOTHING has changed. Hell, I'm not even sure if the prices have gone up... Sub Center rocks. It still rocks. It has always rocked. This place CONSISTENTLY produces excellent subs, period! Although I've eaten most everything on the menu, my personal favorite is the Zesty Italian. What makes this sub so fantastic is the combination of high quality meats and cheeses, the fresh toppings (especially the sweet peppers), and the outstanding house-made Italian dressing. Do make sure they put enough dressing on there for you...sometimes they don't. The fresh Italian bread is also outstanding. Myself, my wife and my kids have, over the years, eaten almost every product made by Sub Center, and no one has ever complained. Ever. I will agree with a recent reviewer on one topic. The inside of the building is a little chaotic. If you've ever "stood in line" in a third world country, you know that lines don't mean much. Now, I'm not advocating a number system, cuz I hate those...just go in there, be a little aggressive in placing your order, and, after a short while, start enjoying the best subs in Florida I'll tell you what: if Sub Center ever closes, one of our main motivations for vacationing in South Florida will be gone. I went with Swiss cheese, as suggested. I'm not allergic to anything there, but peach makes my belly hurt -- they don't add that on the sandwich, so I'm pretty much safe on this quick lunch.
