I'm always looking to try good delicatessen food so when a friend mentioned Top Hat Deli to me, I…read moreknew I had to try it! My husband and I went on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy but were able to get a table right away. I love all things Halloween so I was really excited that it was decorated for Halloween. Our server, Raul came over with menus and shortly afterwards came over to get our order. I ordered the corned beef hash and my husband ordered the Reuben with fries. We also just had to try the potato pancakes/latkes so we ordered a side of them which consisted of two small potato pancakes. The food arrived pretty quickly and I was shocked at the portion size of my hash and eggs. I had enough for breakfast the next day which I enjoyed just as much. It was delicious but not made in the usual hash way with the meat and potatoes all mixed up together. This was more like a potato cake topped with corned beef and served with some slices of corned beef on the side. Different but delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Reuben and said it was one of the best he's ever eaten. The potato pancakes were great, perfectly crispy on the outside with nice fluffy potatoes on the inside. They were served with applesauce and sour cream in the side. Our server Raul was great, he gave us exceptional service without being too intrusive and he boxed up and bagged our leftovers and even gave us a couple of fresh iced teas to go. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other menu items!

My cousin from Miami recommended this place near Downtown FTL so I had to try it. We went for breakfast, but they are now open for dinner - but certain days/time, I'd double check. It's a cute, quaint, and more upscale deli than I'm used to but that only made me more excited. I was also very hungry. In true Yelp fashion, I looked this place up before we went and from the pictures, the portions looked huge, so my cousin and I split everything. But don't be fooled, we still ended up each getting an entree, and finishing everything. Like I said, hungry. Before I go on, the servers were great, nice, and the culture seems very accommodating because they kept explaining that we can mix and do plenty substitutions with our orders. It was really nice and refreshing for someone who wants to try a little bit of everything as much as possible. I ordered the Grand Schlam - which is like basic breakfast plate: a protein, egg, carb, and side. I ended up getting scrambled eggs, no cheese, the maple sausages, it comes with a Latke, and I choose the tomatoes with the basil oil as my side. Delicious. Eggs portion for the prices, amazing! The Latke was so yummy and perfect size. 2 maple sausages, not too sweet, which I like. And the star was fer sure the tomatoes with basil oil because it was refreshing with the savory egg and sausage combo. We also split the Corned Beef Hash - a popular dish there. It is a very large portion. My cousin finished most of it but only because I had some of it also. It comes with slices of corned beef, and shreds of corned beef on top of the hash, with eggs, and a side. And my dear cousin got a croissant as a side so he could make a freakin corned beef hash croissant sandwich. I mean is he my cousin or what. Anyways, it was amazing. The corned beef was perfectly cooked and not overly salty which was great. Then, we shared a Blueberry Pancake, amazing. Will definitely come back. They have the largest cookies I have ever seen. And I'm also interested in their dinner options too. Lovely gem!

Thankfully it was nice out, otherwise we would have waited for an inside table. The outside area is covered, so it's shaded. Somehow I didn't photograph everything. So here's what we had... I had an iced coffee. I have been spoiled by places that make coffee ice cubes as 1/2 way through my meal, by coffee was watery. The server did bring me a fresh glass when I was about 1/2 way done. My husband started with matzah ball soup. You can get it with or without noodles. Both opt'd for the noodles. I tasted the soup & matzah ball - very good! I had the pastrami Reuben without cheese. Mine came with fresh cut fries (yum), choice of potato salad, coleslaw or macaroni salad). I opted for potato salad. It was a little wet but very good. I was excited they had seedless rye. As I mentioned earlier in my review my daughter wanted a bagel w/cream cheese and nova. It was a bit challenging. They had zero bagels that mt daughter would eat - they had the odd ball ones they they probably don't sell many of. As mentioned they are opened until 4 and serve breakfast all day. I get running low, but on Sundays when people go to brunch later in the morning & early afternoon - they should have at least an excess of plain bagels available. I see they sell bagel chips. The only way you can get them is to purchase as bogo. We did that and I asked for the whole wheat everything in a bag since my daughter's meal came with them. I am used to the bagel chips being crunchier, they were too thinly cut to hold their crunch but the ones we took home we will throw in the air fryer. My husband had the turkey pastrami. He enjoyed it. His came with only macaroni salad (very mayonnaisy) and a pickle (you can get sour if you ask). Parking is confusing. One side is paid parking and the other side is not. We parked on the pay for parking side (but will know better for next time). Lunch before tip was $108 which is a bit more than we wanted to spend but on par for this type of restaurant and what we had. Service was nice. Can't say much for inside because we weren't inside other than to check in at the hostess. We would go again - and try to get there a little earlier.
