Super disappointed with this place. Pros: The potatoes and eggs were good & the hot sauce has great flavor! Cons: First thing I did was use the restroom which had a horrible smell and the toilet needed cleaning. The service was good at first then fell off after we ordered our food- which was strange because it was not busy at all. We ordered the screwdriver & peach Bellini to drink. Steak & eggs and the Untoasted breakfast + side of ham. The screwdriver had an odd taste & the ham was extremely soft/squishy/seemed uncooked internally. The steak was not cooked well- but acceptable enough to eat. Our server never checked on us after we got our food which sucks because we needed a few things. A different server ended up walking by much later and asked if we needed help which is when I told her I'd like to send back the ham and screwdriver- both of which I barely took a bite/sip out of. I just told her I didn't like them and she got a bit of an attitude and wanted specifics as to why I didn't like it. I just reiterated i didn't like it and won't be consuming either so please take it back. We finished our food and no one ever came to our table again- while the workers were walking around helping the 5 other tables or talking amongst themselves. We decided to try Untoasted this morning for breakfast, and overall it was a really pleasant experience. We both ordered the Untoasted Combo, which included two scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and French toast. The restaurant itself was comfortable and cozy--not overly crowded, yet it still felt lively and full. The eggs were very good, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and the French toast was delicious. The only surprise was the potatoes--I expected something closer to smothered or seasoned breakfast potatoes, but they were more like basic fried potatoes (similar to French fries). One thing to be aware of: our $36 breakfast turned into almost $50 because the restaurant automatically adds an 18% gratuity to the bill before checkout. Also worth noting: no pets or dogs are allowed, and this is a non-open carry restaurant. That said, customer service was amazing. Way entirely too much whipped cream, syrup, marshmallows, etc. a giant mess and not great. $3 to change from potatoes to grits is insane, especially when the cost on the "sides" menu is only $1 difference. This is the second weekend in a row we come eat here. The food is delicious and the customer service is always superb. They greet you at the door with menu in hands and even open the door for you. Talia helped us out this time and she was amazing!! Super nice, very attentive, very knowledgeable about the menu and even gave us suggestions that we took her up on and they did not disappoint! We ordered the Steak and Eggs and the Chicken and Waffles. The food was decent. Nothing special, but it got the job done. Considering Untoasted isn't necessarily a dinner restaurant, the steak was actually pretty good. Unfortunately, we didn't get the eggs cooked the way we ordered them, which made them hard to enjoy. They were very runny. We also wish the chicken had been more tender, as we found it a bit chewy. The waffle tasted great, and the poached egg was excellent as well. Overall, the experience was fine. Broke my heart to see how this place used to have a line out the door, but when I went Sunday for brunch it was pretty empty. The place used to be great for brunch, with great music and an overall good vibe. We ordered the chicken and waffle Benedict and it was missing some flavor to it, but it wasn't bad. I had to send the French fries back because they were not fully cooked in the middle. The dulce de leche latte was great though! I love places that have lattes that look like the one I ordered (see pictures). Don't get the steak. Came in on Mother's Day so it was a little busy but that should not excuse the quality of the food and service. We got seated right away so it wasn't even THAT busy. Regina was our server and she was terrible. Starting off with drinks, my partner ordered coffee and I asked for water. The coffee came out and she forgot about my water. Thought it was weird that the water took longer to get to us and I had to ask for it multiple times. I ordered the steak benedict and my partner ordered the steak and eggs. It should've been a red flag that it took over 25 minutes because they overcooked both our steaks. It should've also been another red flag that the guy that took our order said that the steaks would be medium well. This was more than well done, and the cook knew it too because he had to put the hollandaise to cover the steak being burnt. I told Regina the steak was unacceptable and that I literally could not eat it because it was so tough. She tried to blame it on us to say that the person taking our order said it would be anywhere between medium to well-- the guy only said medium well, but regardless it was way past well done. She offered to replace the food so I got the salmon benedict instead. It took another 20 minutes to get to us still overcooked but at least was still edible. When we got the cheque she still charged us for the steak benedict and when I asked her about it, she told me that it was correct because I still ordered the steak benedict. I told her I didn't eat the steak and that we should be charged (if at all) for what we ended up with. Her attitude was extremely off-putting and she changed her tone once my partner came back and once he told her the exact same thing she adjusted the price difference. Unfortunately we had to tip 18% because the of mandatory gratuity, which ultimately should've been the first red flag as it was written on the menu. If they need to force a tip it's probably because they know they haven't earned one. Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation and go somewhere else. read more

It's hard to mess up breakfast, right? But somehow this place did it. This space is not bad for a basic bland breakfast but be prepared to pay double for it and feel buyers remorse after. They use some type of butter/margine? for the eggs which is noticeable. The avocado is prepackaged and tiny, there are no gluten free options, the Canadian bacon was so salty and thick I was unable to get through one, the "breakfast potatoes" were just fried with no salt and it wasn't plentiful. If you can notice in my photos. They want you to come in spend and eat but not give you what you pay for? After having my blood drawn, I thought this place would be great ! But it was quite the bust for me staying hungry after eating it. That's never a good indicator of a space. Personally I wouldn't go back here again.
