The saving grace that this isn't a 1 star is the fact the food I was ABLE to get was good. The inside was anything but welcoming, clearly had dirty spots here and there on the floor but alas, sometimes you can't judge the book by its cover. Damn near 90% of the menu was out of stock and the service was not to par. Two girls working in the front each with air pods in and just giving little to no attention to people walking in. I ordered an ox tail plate with rice, peas, brown gravy, and Mac. It was pretty dang good which was the saving grace but irregardless I want to be able to say I want to go back and try out more items (if even available I saw a bunch of reviews saying they stuff out of stock and this was months ago too) but I don't know if it's worth the trip.

Fast service and delicious food. Island Tings ambience and decor transports you to the Caribbean once you walk through the doors. The flavors are just as colorful and vibrant as the restaurant. They offer traditional items such as curry chicken, pea stew and items for veg heads like the veggie pasta . Corn, sweet plantain, and cabbage are just some of the side items that they carry. They realize a visual and virtual menu via QR code You can also check them out online.

This is a delivery order. There is a promotion buy one get one free. We ordered Jerk chicken with rice and Curry chicken with rice. The curry chicken is on the salty side, the portion of the rice seems little. The jerk chicken has little portion of rice too, it is the first time I tried the jerky chicken -a famous Jamaican dish unique spicy, smoky, and tender chicken. It is an ok dish, if given an opportunity I will not try these dishes here again.

I order Uber eats from this location all the time to my office, but we happen to be out on the road and decided to stop in for a quick lunch. At lunchtime, they have a lot of the food options already ready to go. I went to my go to, which is brown stew chicken. I will say the service is not the most friendliest but not something that is unfamiliar if you go into Jamaican restaurants. It took a while to get our order which I didn't quite understand as again. The food is already prepared. I got my chicken with rice and peas and plantains. I like to get the oxtail gravy on top of my rice to add a little bit more flavor. The restaurant was clean. We were able to find good seats. I just wish the service would be a little nicer, but again nothing that I don't expect.

    GOTTA HAVE IT

From True Foodies... Island Tings Is the Real Deal As real food lovers who know good Caribbean cuisine when we taste it, we can confidently say this is not hype, this is hands down the best Caribbean food in Miramar and easily one of the top restaurants in Broward County. Let's start with the oxtail. This is what real oxtail is supposed to taste like. Tender, slow cooked, fall off the bone perfection. The gravy is rich, deep, and seasoned all the way through. You can taste the hours in it. True foodies know when flavor is layered properly, and this is done right. The jerk chicken? Smoky, juicy, perfectly charred, and packed with authentic Jamaican spice. Not dry, not rushed, not watered down. This is real jerk chicken with balance, heat, and flavor. The brown stew chicken is comfort on a plate. Savory, well seasoned, and cooked until tender. Every bite tastes homemade, like it came straight from someone's kitchen who takes pride in their craft. And the juices. Fresh. Vibrant. Not overly sweet. Real tropical flavor that complements the food perfectly. We do not say this lightly. If you are searching for the best Jamaican restaurant in Miramar or authentic Caribbean food in Broward, Island Tings deserves your attention. True foodies recognize quality, and this place delivers every single time.

Ordered delivery from here and absolutely LOVED my jerk chicken Pasta. The portions were large and everything was seasoned very well. Definitely recommend 10 out of 10. I also ordered a side of mac & cheese, which wasn't that great.

My mom picked this place and she definitely lost her picking privilege . As we walk in its your typical Jamaican restaurant with the workers acting like they doing us a favor. I am Jamaican so I believe I can confirm this stereotype, however its not quality to run your business this way. I ordered the oxtail and some layered drink. The oxtail was a 4/10, never in my life have I hate authentic oxtail that was full of sugar. Idk whose idea that was, oxtail is a savory meal, there shouldnt be an overpowering sweetness. The layered drink tasted like a watery caprisun, highly disappointed. The ambiance was as any random fastfood/restaurant you can sit in. Nothing to write home about.

The Jerk Chicken wraps were awesome. My order wasn't ready when promised but the food was worth it. Nice little place

Some restaurants serve food. Others serve memories…read more For me, Joy's Roti Delight isn't just the best Trinidadian restaurant in Broward County--it's a place that's been part of my life for years. I've been eating there since they were in their original location connected to Lauderhill Mall, and no matter how many restaurants I've visited as a chef, Joy's has always felt like home. Walk through the front door and you'll see the large photo of Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. That picture is more than decoration--it's a reminder of the man whose kindness and passion built a place that has fed generations of South Floridians. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to meet him. He was genuinely one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. And the food? Simply outstanding. Their doubles are, in my opinion, the best in Broward--soft, fresh, perfectly balanced, and packed with authentic Trinidadian flavor. It's no surprise they're one of the dishes people rave about over and over in public reviews. The curry goat is tender and deeply seasoned. The curry chicken is rich and comforting. The curry duck is phenomenal. The stew chicken tastes like it came straight from a family kitchen. Pair any of them with their flavorful rice and peas, curry potatoes, or curry chickpeas, and you understand why Joy's has built such a loyal following over the years. But believe it or not... my favorite side is the pumpkin. Funny enough, I used to never eat pumpkin. Mr. Joy himself convinced me to give it a chance, telling me how good it was for me. If you know what I mean I finally listened--and I've been hooked ever since. It's funny how the smallest conversations can stay with you forever. Don't leave without trying their homemade pepper sauce either. It brings just the right amount of heat while letting the flavors of the food shine. As an Executive Chef who's fortunate enough to eat at restaurants across South Florida, I know great food when I taste it. But what separates Joy's isn't just the cooking--it's the heart behind it. The recipes, the consistency, the culture, and the people have made this place a landmark for Trinidadian cuisine. Rest in peace, Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. Thank you for the meals, the conversations, and the legacy you've left behind. Your name still brings people together around a table, and that's one of the greatest accomplishments anyone in the restaurant business could ever hope for. Some legacies are written in history books. Yours is written in every plate that comes out of that kitchen.

A disappointing experience…read more.. Joy's has been around for a long time. I hadn't been there in a couple of years and retuned for a pick up order.... Parking: easy and plentiful as it is in a secluded area of the Lauderhill Mall parking lot. Drinks: They have decent bar and traditional caribbean drinks Food: this is where they fell down. We got two curry goat rotis and they were honestly awful. Why? Because they were full of bones, had zero flavor and had way too much roti. There were a million layers of roti and just a little goat. The goat didn't even have a distinct curry flavor. It was also tough and not soft - they certainly needed to cook it longer. It was AWFUL! Service: another area where they fall down. It is a bit chaotic waiting in line to order and pick up but that is fine. What is awful is that you can't trust their timing. They told us our order would be ready in 15 minutes...it took 40 minutes. They didn't apologize either - I suppose because that is their norm. Atmosphere/vibe: great if you want a loud, casual vibe. No need to get dressed up here. Age group:All Return: Never. Not ever.
