Oh, where to start? This chicken sandwich is worth riding home about! Instead, I'll just tell you all. It came on a freshly made bun, which is always a good thing! I did opt for a pretzel bun instead of the normal bun, and it was very good. The cheese, the aioli, everything just came together perfectly--and I'm not usually a fan of cheese on chicken sandwiches. I'll try the normal bun next time, though. Not because it wasn't good, but just because judging by the way the flavors came together on my sandwich, these people obviously know what is best when it comes to food! I opted for the side salad instead of fries, and the salad was huge! Dressing was good as well. So of course, I went back and tried their coffee the next day, and I was equally blown away. So glad to have found my go-to coffee shop near Dania Point, because Starbucks' burnt-tasting lattes are such a disappointment. Dress light, because it was a bit warm inside, but the heat index is 105 degrees, so I can imagine their air conditioner is struggling just like the rest of us in this heat! I'm so happy that I stumbled upon Bake Shack, what a wonderful surprise! Staff was friendly and engaging, and recommended that I try their signature Dough Boy sandwich. I kept hearing about the amazing cinnamon buns that they served here and since I was in the area I decided to stop by. Be careful when you're driving by because if you blink you'll miss it. It's a restaurant and they also have a section with their baked goods for sale. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I immediately walked over to the area where there was delicious baked goods in a display cafe. I had to remind myself that I had gone in there with a mission to buy cinnamon buns and to not be swayed by all the goodies they had to offer. Donuts, apple fritters and cakes were among the items trying to tempt me. The cinnamon buns came unfrosted or with frosting so I got the ones with frosting because who can pass up homemade cream cheese frosting? These were some of the best cinnamon buns I've ever had, you can taste the love they put into making them. The restaurant section was busy with people eating brunch on an early Sunday afternoon. I was in this part of town and decided to stop in. The place is so small but has so much character and charm. The man at the register was kind. I wanted to try their coffee but I had already had some so I'll definitely make a trip back. But I ordered honey bun and the doughboy breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was very good, I possibly wouldn't get the bread it came on again though because the top was extremely greasy. My wife tried the cinnamon bun French toast that were on special and continues to rave about them. Seating wise it is somewhat limited. Maybe 7 tables or so if I recall. We got there at a moment when it was empty, but by the time we left the line was out the door. Too bad because we definitely would have picked up some more items to take home! Absolutely fabulous food. Service was great as well. This little bakeshop is so cute inside, with lots of handmade signs, and a handful of tables I had the hot chicken and waffle which was delicious. The chicken was crispy and the waffle was fluffy and flavorful. The hot honey on top of it gave it a nice kick. My friend had the Dough Boy, and was kind enough to share. It was delicious! Food: Challah French Toast w/ Egg whites & Bacon: $8.95 [7/10] sides cost extra (eggs + bacon) The french toast was ok, it was flavorful but there was nothing too crazy about it. The presentation was dull there was no color on the plate just dazzled powdered sugar. It wasn't nasty but there was nothing that stood out compared to other french toast I've had. They put some butter and syrup in a clear cup incase you wanted a more sweeter taste but that didn't do to much in my opinion but again it was good is wasn't bad! The egg whites and bacon were fine. Nothing to say about them. My aunt got a sausage instead of bacon and it was just a singular piece, it looked like it was frozen and reheated so I'd probably just get bacon for a protein or just skip it entirely. Iced Coffee (with caramel & half and half): $3.75 (4/10) It was disgusting and reminded me of dunkin donuts coffee. There was half and half and caramel in the iced coffee and it tasted extremely flat and not really sweet or creamy. I wouldn't recommend I'd probably get another drink. Lemonade (mango): $2.95 (8/10) (mango lemonade costs extra) This was delicious and a lot better than the coffee. It was sweet and refreshing and you can definitely taste the mango in it.
