They were incredibly light and fluffy, but also actually tasted like something, which is where so many pancakes fall short. The peaches were sliced and brûléed on top, making them even better. Absolutely no syrup needed which is unheard of The shakshuka was full of flavor--warm, comforting, and completely delicious. We sat outside on the patio, and the service was friendly and attentive. Breakfast Hangout was easily one of our best meals in Lake City.

The açaí bowl isn't thick frozen blended açaí but rather just a yogurt bowl? The meal took forever and a half to come out so we just ended up taking it to go for my spouse and I didn't end up eating. They brought us out a clamshell to go container for yogurt so I had to go dig around our vehicle for something that could actually be used to transport liquid. My husband got the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was flavorless and filled the plate so much it was spilling over the edges. This man can eat anything and at about half way just sighed and pushed away his plate and said there was a limit to how much flavorless mush a person could eat. We at least hoped to be able to get some work in on their wifi given the name is literally hangout and we just spent $50 for a roadside dinner quality meal. However, the kicker was a bizarre bathroom situation. One bathroom and a single person was in there for over a hour. A legitimate nine people knocked on the door. Staff just seemed to ignore the fact that table after table was being inconvenienced there was no bathroom. At some point I'd hope a facility would worry about someone having a medical emergency or an overdose when there's no response to rounds of knocking. We would have loved to have leveraged some part of this experience but at some point you need a bathroom and the whole situation was just disappointing and weird.

The ordering process is simple: grab a menu when you enter, find a seat, and place your order at the counter when you're ready. The staff was professional, polite, and welcoming throughout our visit. The breakfast burrito was outstanding, easily the best one I had during my time in Colorado. It was perfectly prepared, complete with beautiful panini-style grill marks that added both texture and flavor. I was also impressed by the extensive selection of hot sauces, with options to suit just about every taste. In addition to the food, they offer a great selection of local craft beers. Unfortunately, it was only 9:30 in the morning, so I wasn't able to take advantage of that part of the menu! One of the highlights is the large window overlooking the mountains surrounding the town, providing a beautiful backdrop while you dine. This is the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer, and I will definitely return the next time I'm in the area.

We walked in the door and was warmly greeted by the only guy we saw working there. He was grinding up coffee, which smelled really good! We read the sign that said to take a menu, pick a table, then go to the counter and order your meal. We went to the counter and the friendly guy. Let us smell the copy that he was grinding. We then placed our order for one brisket entrée, and one salmon entrée. Then we asked him about splitting a Caesar, and he said sure. After paying for the meal upfront, he pointed us to the table where we could pick up our napkins, utensils, and get some water. This is a very self service place. That's fine. There was only one other couple in the restaurant that had gotten there before us so they were not busy. About 15 minutes, went by and we wondered if we were ever going to get our Caesar salad. A few minutes later, our food was served to us, including a small Caesar salad that was not split. We quickly mentioned with surprised that oh the salad comes out with the food? Our server smiled and said: enjoy. We eat out quite often and we can rarely think of any time that a salad came out with the meal. It's designed to keep you happy and give you something refreshing to eat while they're back in the kitchen cooking your meal. We figured when they came out to check with us, we would mention that it was too late and could they remove it from our bill. However, the entire time we ate our meal, no one ever came to check on us. The gentleman we ordered from along with a lady chatted the entire time at the counter as we were eating. They only passed by our table after a patron came in looking for something he thought he might've left there earlier. When she came and asked to clear our plates, I asked if that's typical that the salad comes out with the entrées because we no longer want the salad. She said she was sorry that our server didn't ask if we wanted it early or with the meal. Then she took our plates away and left the Caesar salad sitting there. It's really too bad we had such a poor experience as we were planning to come back for breakfast in the morning, based on the reviews. It's funny because on our bill, it's listed as an $11 "starter" Caesar salad. My husband said his brisket was average, a little dry, except when he got a good fatty part. The potatoes and the vegetables were good. My salmon was just slightly overcooked, but very delicious and I really enjoyed the taste of my meal. For us, customer service is as much a part of the experience as the food. Judging by the reviews, this hopefully is a one off.

We ordered the carne asada tacos, pastor pork tacos, a cup of tortilla soup, fresh homemade chips with salsa and queso, and the Mexican street corn. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and served in generous portions. The tortilla soup was hands down some of the best I've ever had rich, comforting, and packed with flavor! The homemade chips were fresh and crispy, and the queso was a perfect complement. The hot sauce had a wonderfully roasted flavor that was unique and delicious. The Mexican street corn was a little different than what I'm used to it seemed to be made with Miracle Whip instead of mayonnaise but it was still tasty. The tacos were huge and loaded with meat, making for an incredibly satisfying and very filling meal. Overall, we had wonderful, friendly service and enjoyed every bite. If you're looking for flavorful food, generous portions, and a great dining experience in Silverton, El Bandito is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town!
