Folks drying tents, bags laundry and underwear on the shared upper deck.

Noisy and no management. Youth laughing and giggling in the hallways till late at night. Nice interior, but lack of privacy. Think frat house. See picture of the upper deck and you will get the idea.

Long overdue review. Stayed here July 11-12, 2020. Perfect place to stay if you're visiting Silverton. We came here to hike Ice Lake. Owner was more than hospitable. Called to make sure we were still arriving as we were running a bit late. He stayed up and made sure we checked in. The hotel is very nice. The remodel looks like they put some money into it. Up date and modern. Met the owner's dog made me wish I brought my two dogs. And the basement area was amazing. UFC 251 was on and was able to enjoy the fights before crashing out. Breakfast foods and coffee was provided. I wish I came here not during covid but will definitely stay here again of I was to hike Ice Lake again. Which I probably will this summer. Thanks again.

No public lounge. Seems sort of deserted but at least no public lounge the day we were here, a Thursday at 12:30.

Owner is not nice. Doesn't respond to guests and if you happen to see him in person, he ignores you:

Hands down, coolest hotel I've ever stayed in. So nostalgic, quaint, and cozy. I will most definitely be staying here again.

So many places want to charge $50-$150 extra for a pup and that's just a no go for us. We stayed in the WOOF room. It has a queen size bed, mini fridge, microwave, table, chairs, small tv, and a full bathtub with a shower. On the bench when we arrived there was a cute little basket with a dog bone, water and food bowls, and special sheets and blankets for the pup. So thoughtful! The room was super clean, and the decor is impeccable. The shower has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and the bathroom sink has hand soap and lotion. They also have a kettle in the room with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, but we ended up getting coffee every morning from Red Wolf Coffee, the coffee shop attached to the motel (AMAZING). They have a hot tub, but we didn't use it because it was so hot outside when we were there. I did see them cleaning it, and other people did use it. It looks nice. We met the owners and they were super nice and helpful. We'll definitely stay again. Treat. Yo. Self. ...to a night or two at the MVM.

Overwhelmed by food. Underwhelmed by service…read more A bartender where we had dinner recommended this place for after dinner drinks. When I saw some of the menu I wanted to try a couple of things. The deviled egg sounded intriguing & I saw the lemon cake was GF. The deviled egg came out like something you would see at a Michelin starred restaurant. The deviled egg was served in the eggs shell with a custard at the bottom and egg white foam on top. It tasted just like a deviled egg but super unique. The lemon cake was great too. My drink was like a vesper with grapefruit flavors, it was really good. I love how the space is very warm and cozy like you'd see at a mountain resort, a fireplace, couch, etc. What was underwhelming was the service, it just didn't measure up to the food, drinks and ambiance. We had to walk up to the bar to get our waters filled so it felt kind of self service, like you had to get up and ask for things. Mind you, there were 4 people seated there including us. And when I asked what made the lemon cake GF the bartender said he'd go & ask the kitchen but he said no one was there so he didn't know so I rolled the dice & ordered it anyways. I still would come back just not expect great service.

All topped off with deliciously seasoned mashed potatoes and sautéed vegetables. Wonderful flavoring!! The dessert was fantastic and home made with incredible salted caramel ice cream to go with my blueberry-lemon cheesecake. The whole meal was amazing. So fun to discover such a delightful dining experience in an out of the way location. The service was friendly and attentive. Go dine there! You won't be disappointed.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by one of the bartenders and told to sit wherever we liked. We found a nice booth off to the side of the bar area. Our server Patrick stopped by the booth and pointed us to the food menu in the chalkboard. We also had another server but I didn't catch her name. They were both very friendly and attentive. I ordered the special for the day. A green chili Rueben & fries. Wow, this sandwich was so delicious! What a creative combination of flavors. Even the slaw in the Rueben included the green chilis. The fries were hot and crispy. My husband ordered the spicy BBQ pulled pork tacos. He said the tacos were amazing and the flavors were off the charts. They were topped with a slaw and pickles. The side of "tortilla chips" had a dusting of a very flavorful spice. Not sure what it was but very tasty. Looking over the menu, this restaurant has some very creative dishes. We can't wait to stop by again! My husband ordered

Our party witnessed Kenny having multiple glasses of wine throughout the evening, and this likely contributed to our issues. After a delicious meal and experience we were presented with a receipt that erroneously stated we had one more drink than we ordered. The meal was over $800, so a $20 drink error should have been corrected with no issues. However Kenny insisted he was correct, and then we overheard him say to cancel our reservation. 30 minutes after we paid (including the extra drink we did not order) our Open Table reservation was canceled so now we can't leave a review on Open Table. Let me give you the deets: First of all...it is up at Mountain Village. The Little Bar at the Lumiere (per OpenTable.com), is nicely located at the intimate 28-room* Lumiere Hotel (near the gondolas). You take the garage elevator to the 4th floor and voila...swanky, cozy, elegant lounge. It is IMHO (in my honest opinion) TELLURIDE'S BEST KEPT SECRET! A Conde Nast top 100 hotel...and the bar + restaurant is exceptional. Lumiere Little Bar staff Kat and Alex took excellent care of us as we selected a cozy corner of this beautifully understated, mountain cozy bar lounge. The fireplaces, lounge tunes (think Zero 7 and Bitter:Sweet), and ambiance here are like a Four Seasons private residence lounge, but with even better food! I knew we were in for a treat when we asked each of these lovely Lumiere ambassadors what they like on the menu, and both were GUSHING about the food...and both struggled to find the words to explain just why the dishes tasted so good. It was geniune...honest...they were still gushing. We started to get the idea that perhaps we were going to be amazed with our dishes no matter which ones we chose. We chose items based on their recommendations: the caesar salad, short rib taco, mushroom lasagna. We weren't starving since we had a large lunch, but we were eager to see what all this fuss was about! First up was the bread basket. It included a couple of lovely, warmed ciabatta rolls (whole grain wheat and plain) with salted butter. Excellent, traditional start. Then the caesar. The caesar dressing is amazing. Magic. Made with...love? The balance of lemon, garlic, white anchovy, the texture of the parmesan...wow. Best caesar in memory. Truly. Then, the short rib taco. OMG. Three letters. F*c%$ng Awesome. Fourteen letters. Either way, it rocked. The flavors in it...salty, tangy, sweet...umami. Perfection. The lasagna...WOW. Three letters again. F*c7$ng Incredible. You do the math. Meantime, I'm eating the lasagna. (Diversion - that's my strategy.) The lasagna...deconstructed to a certain degree with a melange of vegetables and lentils off to the side, with a gorgeously fried tofu cube...the crispy lasagna pasta layers atop creamy goat cheese, ricotta...mushrooms. Right about now, I started to formulate my strategy to maintain room for dessert. That lemon tart with chocolate, hazelnut crust, vanilla whipped creme and berry compote...definitely had my number. As in 911. Urgent and immediate attention required. The dessert arrived and you know you love someone (or you're just pretty mind-blowingly thoughtful) when you put down your fork and say, "...oh no - you go ahead and eat the rest. I'm full." I did not even remember to take a picture before devouring it. I could have eaten an entire tart by myself. Not one 'dessert' portion. The whole tart. I can peddle up the mountain again tomorrow to burn those calories, I think to myself. Piece of tart, err um, I mean cake. I learned that Chef Eamonn O'Hara is the magic man behind the curtain. I think we ought to erect a monument in his name. My guy suggested an addition to Mt Rushmore. I say Rushmore isn't thinking big enough. Yep - it's passionate, head-over-heels-love at Foodie first taste Mr. O'Hara. Meantime, I guess we'll just have to go back tomorrow night for another dining revelation as we figure out to get this guy's magic to reach us back home in Boulder, CO. For now, I just say make this a MUST DINE while in Telluride or the surrounding, say, 500 miles. Alex, Kat, Chef Eamonn...You da bomb. We'll see you in 24. *18 guest rooms, 10 residences as we learned. In any case, it's intimate, charming and understated.
