    Dog friendly!
    Néia H.

Absolutely loved this place. We were on a 3 week camping road trip, and ended it in Mancos to see friends. We needed a dog friendly place and lucked out with the MVM. So many places want to charge $50-$150 extra for a pup and that's just a no go for us. We stayed in the WOOF room. It has a queen size bed, mini fridge, microwave, table, chairs, small tv, and a full bathtub with a shower. On the bench when we arrived there was a cute little basket with a dog bone, water and food bowls, and special sheets and blankets for the pup. So thoughtful! The room was super clean, and the decor is impeccable. The shower has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and the bathroom sink has hand soap and lotion. They also have a kettle in the room with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, but we ended up getting coffee every morning from Red Wolf Coffee, the coffee shop attached to the motel (AMAZING). They have a hot tub, but we didn't use it because it was so hot outside when we were there. I did see them cleaning it, and other people did use it. It looks nice. We met the owners and they were super nice and helpful. We'll definitely stay again. Treat. Yo. Self. ...to a night or two at the MVM.

Each room has a unique welcome slogan.

This is the best 2-star motel you will ever stay in. Absolutely charming, rustic atmosphere, squeaky clean, and quiet. Very friendly and courteous staff. Adjacent coffee bar has an excellent breakfast burrito and homemade pastries, plus a full bar. Only 7 miles = 6 minutes from Mesa Verde park entrance. Its got everything I need for a pleasant 8 night stay. Highly recommended!!!

Super cute and clean. Picked this place to stay and clean up after several days of camping and hiking. Very friendly owners. They have done a wonderful job of updating the rooms and very clean. Has a fun retro vibe. This area is beautiful and close to the Mesa Verde National Park. Close to Resturant's and groceries.

Wow! This place was such a treat! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved all the creative little details. The rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable and the owners are super sweet and friendly. We are now singing the praises of this cute, fun, quirky little motel and telling all our friends to visit Mancos just so they can stay in this fun place!

The king room. Very nice. Beyond clean. Super nice people. Absolutely recommend

Steak Out also has a vibrant bar scene in the back of the restaurant, spilling outdoors to well planned outdoor dining and pub setup. The service is friendly and attentive. Steak Out shifts gears for lunch, offering all kinds of interesting fare for lunch. Not cheap but well worth it for what you get. Much of their menu items are both creative and genuinely delicious. Watch for unusual limits on days open. Currently, seems like they're closed Sunday and Monday and Tuesday, and then open from 11am till closing Wednesday through Saturday, which offers opportunities to drop by not only for lunch or dinner, but in between as well. Central fireplace, very comfortable seating, etc. Very pleasant vibe, welcoming locals and tourists alike. Super to have this option in Dolores, and serving the Cortez community as well. Highly recommended.

The restaurant has an upscale vibe. Not quite white cloth but a place to celebrate a special event. I ordered a Merlot and the 16oz ribeye. Everyone at the table ordered steaks: wagyu steak, New York strip, and the filet mignon. My steak was divine!!! Melt in your mouth amazing flavor. The tomato jam on top was pretty damn tasty too. Although after a while it became too much so I had to move it off to the side. The veggies were cooked perfectly and the baked potato was good. I tried the wagyu and while it was tender and good I much preferred my ribeye. Everybody else seemed to enjoy their steaks. Our only complaint was that we waited an hour and a half for our food. Our reservation was for 1830, we did not get our steaks until 2000. They did give us a complimentary soup or salad for the wait which was nice but 1.5 hours is a little much. But if I were to find myself in the area I would make a stop for this place... I'd just make sure there are no parties lol.

Quality food. Nice atmosphere…read more Horrible service. Having frequented this place many times, I'm always amazed at the painstaking lengths that the owner went to provide a pleasant dining experience, good food, high quality ingredients, and a pretty excellent value relationship-- Only to hire incompetent servers. Tonight I was placed alone next to a window, with the server barely spending more than 10 seconds waiting on me--in 50 minutes. Instead, he doted over all of the large groups in my vicinity, promised me a refill on the iced tea, watched me sit there waiting for 30 minutes for a refill, and never provided such. You got it. When I was handed the electronic payment machine...Yupp... he literally stares me down like a back alley shakedown artist. In addition to wearing a scuzzy unkept beard, not advisable for food servers, right?, he actually seems visibly upset when I gave him 16% tip, even asking me "was something wrong?" I know that we are in a small town, and Durango is feeling its growing pains, transitioning from a mountain/railroad rural tourist haven to a high profile mountain resort. But this was so obvious, that it ruined the experience. The burger was well executed and had a nice patina, offering a rewarding crunchy patty exterior. The marinade the patty was placed in was great as well. The bun was high quality and so too was the blue cheese and fried onion strings.
