Absolutely loved this place. We were on a 3 week camping road trip, and ended it in Mancos to see friends. We needed a dog friendly place and lucked out with the MVM. So many places want to charge $50-$150 extra for a pup and that's just a no go for us. We stayed in the WOOF room. It has a queen size bed, mini fridge, microwave, table, chairs, small tv, and a full bathtub with a shower. On the bench when we arrived there was a cute little basket with a dog bone, water and food bowls, and special sheets and blankets for the pup. So thoughtful! The room was super clean, and the decor is impeccable. The shower has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and the bathroom sink has hand soap and lotion. They also have a kettle in the room with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, but we ended up getting coffee every morning from Red Wolf Coffee, the coffee shop attached to the motel (AMAZING). They have a hot tub, but we didn't use it because it was so hot outside when we were there. I did see them cleaning it, and other people did use it. It looks nice. We met the owners and they were super nice and helpful. We'll definitely stay again. Treat. Yo. Self. ...to a night or two at the MVM. read more

This is the best 2-star motel you will ever stay in. Absolutely charming, rustic atmosphere, squeaky clean, and quiet. Very friendly and courteous staff. Adjacent coffee bar has an excellent breakfast burrito and homemade pastries, plus a full bar. Only 7 miles = 6 minutes from Mesa Verde park entrance. I have been wanting to stay here for some time, as I have followed them on IG since they opened. We happened to be in the area and decided to spend the night here. What a treat! We called the morning of our stay and we're able to secure a room. Good thing, as by the time we arrived they had no vacancies. The motel has been completely refurbished and a great deal of effort has gone into every detail. The owners deserve a great deal of credit for the thought and effort that went to this remodel. The room was perfect for us..just enough room, and little surprise details here and there. Town is walking distance and we were able to explore. The back parking lot was perfect for us to park our car and trailer. We will definitely stay here again! read more

Driving by it looks like the typical roadside motel...but it's not! What Sally and her husband have done with the place in just a year is amazing. The rooms are very clean and the beds very comfy. They somehow made what is usually a plain old motel room into a very pleasant and inviting place to stay. I can't remember ever wanting to stay more nights in small motels but this place I did. Also, what was really nice and refreshing was a pleasant and friendly person on the phone and behind the counter. Not the gruff old been doing this too long typical proprietor. Stopped in for coffee and a snack after a day hiking. I kept it simple with a cup of drip coffee that was a little on the tepid side so I asked for a cup of ice and turned it into a tasty iced coffee instead. My hiking partner opted for a vanilla latte and we split a package of the blue cornmeal cookies which are the bomb! Service was friendly and there nice shady options for sitting outside or there is inside seating. There were several dessert and cookie options and we wanted them all! We loved this motel! The owners were friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and our kids were enamored with the intelligent, kid-loving, resident motel dog Gus. They had a "family room" with two double beds and 1 queen bed, which was perfect for our family of 6. Price was around $105.00. We enjoyed the Mexican restaurant down the road and also walked to the cafe/bakery for breakfast the next morning. What a charming place and a charming town. Our kids insist we must come back soon, because they loved the motel and most of all fell in love with Gus. read more

Came back for another summer vacation with the family. They have replaced the windows on the front, and the place looks great. Want to add a few photos, but not sure how to do that on a review update. Every room now has a microwave and a refrigerator, and this place is so clean. Very family-friendly, and we will continue to come back here for our summers. They have added a nice sitting and BBQ area by the hot tub. Walked to the town park from the motel with the kids, and they were able to play on the recently updated playground. Don't know if I can rate a playground on Yelp, but the Mancos town playground is great with brand new playstructures and tons of shade. Again, walked to Ted's Tacos - you must go. read more

Hadn't stayed at a motel in a while but this place is amazing. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The restroom was clean with hot water and the room has a heater for those winter nights. Owners are friendly and they have lots of suggestions from restaurants to places to go. We came upon this motel by chance, and I am so, so glad we did!! It's definitely the BEST motel I've ever stayed in.... the owners are just a delight. The rooms are hospital clean, and all the bed linens are thoroughly washed after every guest, including the comforters, you don't find that anywhere. As you can imagine, this place is a huge undertaking for the two of them, especially in these trying times. Not your ordinary motel room. Very nicely appointed room. The room is very clean and comfortable. It has everything you would expect in a motel room, but upgraded. I would have taken more photos, but we moved our stuff in before I realized I should have taken the pics. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into the design and amenities of each room. After calling some places in Cortez and getting crazy rates (close to $200), my AAA book came to the rescue and I contacted Mesa Verde Motel for less than half that rate. All we needed was a place to sleep and shower - no need for fancy-pants stuff this time (though I understand there's a hot tub). My lousy time management meant arriving at 10:45pm - far later than my initial estimate of 7pm (in my defense, we were coming from hundreds of miles away). Tina was great on the phone and in person, and took care of us with a smile. To top it off, in my stupor, I left a shirt in the room and she drove it to where we were eating breakfast and handed it to me! Kudos! read more

One of the best, cleanest motels we stayed in on our 10 day road trip. If you are planning to go to Mesa Verde National Park this is a great place to stay. Super clean, pet friendly and very affordable. With a AAA discount out nights stay was around $55, the room included two beds and a complete with 100 channels of cable. Highly recommend staying here if you are passing through, better than Cortez and cheaper than Durango. Stayed for 2 nights to visit friends while traveling from LA to Detroit. There aren't many options in town but you won't regret taking this one! It was very clean and quiet and the owners, a family, were friendly and low-key. They had a little basket in the room for pets with items like a water bowl, dog treats, and extra sheets for putting over the bed so your dog can sleep with you :) It cost about $65 a night including pet fee. This was a good choice for a family. We had a two bedroom, which was super affordable and clean. Two beds in the front room, a queen in the back bedroom (privacy from the kids!!!). Highly recommend. Wifi was good...weak in the room, but good sitting outside.
