This was a really cold and tedious start to the day. There was a pretty long wait on a Sunday morning at 8:45 but they won't let you put your name in or give you an estimate for how much longer it might be so we ended up just standing in the cold wondering if we should leave or not for awhile. They also kept asking the two of us and the couple behind us if we would mind sharing a table and seated a group of 4 behind us rather than just seating us at a 4 person table (I could see 2 people at a 4 person table through the door from where I was standing) which made the wait longer. Sitting outside in the shade on a chilly morning was a huge mistake, there was a long wait for food once we had ordered and by the time it arrived I just wanted to eat as fast as possible so we could leave. The food was fine and service was friendly but I definitely won't be coming back.

Traditional breakfast

Ordered a transitional breakfast. Food had excellent flavor. Fast service and friendly waitress from WV :) I would eat here again! Bathroom was also the storage room. Was kind of run down bathroom.

This place was amazing! There was a bit of a wait but it's completely understandable, they were busy! There wasn't much room inside but the waitresses and host made the best of it. They were able to accommodate people outside so they were able to eat as well. It was a super friendly atmosphere and everyone was enjoying their food. The food came out fresh, hot and super delicious! I am glad that we had that tiny wait because the service and the food were amazing. The waitress was so kind and even told us about some local Fourth of July events happening in town. Overall, definitely recommend!

BLT and homemade curly fries

Hidden treasure off the beaten path? (as the cover on the menu says). Or was it the only restaurant open in town? After canvassing the little town of Silverton, we're fairly certain it was the only place open, but a pleasant surprise at that! As soon as we stepped inside we could see it was pretty packed. It's a small place and there were maybe a total of 6 or more tables...one didn't have any chairs perhaps for social distancing. Lucky for us there was an open table by the front window. The menu items looked good but were minimal...kinda wished we had come for breakfast but oh well...maybe next time. I got a BLT and my hubby ordered a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich. BLT was well...a BLT. My hubby loved his Philly Cheese Steak...said it was super flavorful. He dug the homemade curly fries...I ordered them as my side and he devoured them. I love me some fries but they were too soft and not crispy for my liking so I took a pass. Overall, it was a decent lunch. Service was great and our waitress was very friendly and professional. This is off-season for the town so it explains why many places were closed. Would love to come back to Kendall Mountain Cafe when things are kicking and the Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge Train is up and running again next month. Hoping they'll expand their menu, but if not we'll still come back...overall it's a solid restaurant in the beautiful and quaint mountain town of Silverton.

A little farther walk from the train station. It worth it. Less crowded too. Had a wonderful BLT and peach pie. Yummy!!

Breakfast burrito and pancakes were very tasty with good proportions. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

BrickHouse 737 delivered one of the best meals we've had in a long time. The grilled quail special…read moreappetizer was outstanding. The limoncello shrimp linguini was light and bright, and the braised rabbit and rooster comb pasta was a flavor bomb with a great mix of textures. The carrot cake was easily the best I've ever had. Drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere was dark, warm and intimate. Our waitress was also really nice and gave great recommendations. P.S. The owner deserves a shoutout. On Christmas Day I was across the street trying to find high smoke-point cooking oil (I'd forgotten mine and everything else was closed). He was only there as a customer, but offered to take us over to his restaurant and grab some oil for us. Huge thanks. You saved the day.

Yummy! My fiancé took me here for my birthday dinner during my birthday weekend in beautiful Ouray…read more The outside and inside are both quite cool. We drank red wine, split a wedge salad, and both had steak frites. For dessert, we shared the tabletop s'mores. The red wine was delicious and it was a nice generous pour (we live in Utah and are very used to stingier state-regulated pours, haha). The wedge salad was split and plated separately (no extra cost) which was nice. I do wish it was a little bit less salty, but it was still yummy. We both got steak frites, and it was very high quality steak that was cooked to the correct doneness for both of us. The fries were slightly colder than I would have liked, but the dish was overall great. Because the server had messed up and didn't push "send" when putting in our entree orders, the food took a long time to come out, but she felt apologetic and therefore comped the salad and our dessert. So, for dessert, we got the tabletop s'mores which was super fun to eat in an outdoorsy town. We didn't calculate our graham cracker ratios correctly so we did need to ask for more crackers, and our server was very kind to immediately get us more of those without charging extra. In the end, the service turned out just fine and we had a very happy celebratory dinner. We will definitely be back for a nicer meal in Ouray the next time we are in town!
