The server was nice. The food was usual gas-station quality. The management leaves something to be desired. There's a big banner on the front of the building saying "Kids eat free all week." But the manager evidently has a policy that you get charged for the kid's meal anyway unless you have psychic powers that tell you to ask for the free kid's meal up front. If you believe the banner and expect that the kid's meal will be free without special dispensation, you get nothing. Pretty weird policy. read more

I've been eating at this Denny's for the past 13 years and have never ran into a problem except for this morning. I bit into a french fry and noticed that something just tasted wrong about it. It left a weird lingering taste in my mouth. I even sniffed the french fry and couldn't believe what I smelled. I asked my husband to sniff it and tell me what he smelled. And of course he proved me right, it smelled like urine. I told the manager and he said maybe the potatoes were undercooked. I've eaten uncooked potatoes before and they didn't taste like pee. I'm never going to this Denny's again. I don't know what the restaurant workers or warehouse workers are doing behind the scenes. This time was urine maybe next time feces. Who knows. read more

Usually eat here because I get off at 2am, at first the service was good. The manager was nice and the service was fast. Then they switched managers, a female replaced the former manager and I wouldn't normally mind but she's a bitch. I call in my order and she doesn't even let me finish ordering before cutting me off and hanging up. When I pick up the food I have to double check, to make sure it's ok. We came Sunday around 1250, there wasn't a lot of people waiting we added our name to the list, there were 2 parties ahead of us. We were told the wait was 15 mins , 25 passed by and I went to check when would we be seated. Since I've seen people who came after us being seated. By surprise my name was already crossed they said Rachel was called and the party was seating down. Manager went and gave us a table. Our server took about 20 mins to come and help us. We order drinks and food, we got our coffee 10 mins later, food took about 45 minutes to arrive, my friends and I decided to wait since we didn't wanna go anywhere else and wait an hour again. Our server didn't apologize for the delay, he had a very bad attitude. If you don't like your job, look for something that will make you happy, life is too short for people like this lol I had to get up to pay because they wouldn't bring us our check. read more

This Denny's is a disaster. I had eaten here once before with my husband and our two boys. The service was terrible and the food was cold when it got to the table. They gave one of our boys a "special promotion cup" that we paid extra for, that was broken and didn't hold the chocolate milk in. We made the server aware of the issue and she refused to replace the cup. When we spoke to the manager about our experience, he seemed as though he could care less, like he hears it all day every day. This experience was about 16 months ago. So my husband and I decided to give them another chance at dinner. It was a Tuesday night and the place was basically empty. There were maybe 10 other guests in the restaurant. It took almost 40 minutes to bring our order out, the server was EXTREMELY rude. She didn't refill my husbands glass of water, which was purely ice at the time she came back to the table with our food, until he made a point to ask her after she went to check on another table. The food was actually much better this time than it was the previous trip and we were both satisfied with our dinner. It took another 20 minutes to get the check and pay. I had ordered a hot chocolate at dinner and asked for one to go, something all Denny's do. When I asked our server at the register for one to go, since she didn't want to come back to our table, she said ok and walked away to clear her "tip" from another table, check on the same table for the 10th time in less than an hour, came back and made my hot chocolate but left it about 15 feet away from where I was standing and walked away after saying "here" in a very agitated tone. Once again our service was very poor at this Denny's and I don't believe we will be coming back which is a shame due to the fact that it is literally down the street from our apartment. read more

We arrived at 12:50ish, didn't take long to seat us (party of 2) we ordered immediately after being seated but we did not get our food until 1:56. Took almost an hour to receive our food, and not only did the waitress (irlanda)? not come by to refill our drinks, she somehow missed the mother with two little ones seated in back of us. The service was horrible and when I asked the waiter why it took so long she stated that Saturday's are busy, yet there was no one there... half the restaurant was empty. I pointed out the time stamped on the receipt 1:35 when our order was placed into the kitchen she could not give me a explanation as to why it took 35 minutes to place our order and an extra 20 to receive our food. I advise if you have time to kill and don't have things to do and on top of that are not hungry. Then come here to waste your time. We should have stayed home and cooked at least I know I could have done other things in between. read more

this is my favorite dennys to go to and its not because its the closest one, either. the food is always fresh and delicious. and I also love that all of the waitress/waiters there are very kind and check up on you to see how the food is tasting and if you need anything. it is always super clean except the bathroom are sometimes not clean but other than that, this dennys is awesome!! read more

Went there to eat today with my 3 yr old... I was waiting to pay at the front when my daughter came up to me and said the manager (which wasn't even there to work) came up to them and yelled at her to have my 3 yr old stop playing with the hanging lights (which hung over the table )!!!! She was already telling him to stop when she got yelled at by the manager!!!! She yelled loud enough where everyone was looking towards our table. First of all... I go to this Denny's all the time and have no problems with anyone here except for this one manager!!! She is the younger Hispanic girl with glasses!!! She is rude and has no business being a manager!!! Anyways she came up to our table, yelled at my kids and then left the restaurant!!!! I talked to the other manager that was there and told her what happened and she kind of brushed it off and said that the girl was having a lot of issues but it is not an excuse!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would! Went in for a late dinner with the family! The manager walked away when we walked in so the bus boy sat us. We looked at the menu for 10 minutes without anyone coming to our table... Finally the manager came over and said he can get us drinks I the. Told him we were ready he replied with "oh I'm only helping him with drinks, the server will take your order." Well the manager never brought us our drinks the busboy did after we told him we order then and we wanted to order food finally the server comes over as if he was in a hurry... Our meal was pretty much wrong. My nieces food should've had apples we got grapes, my parents club should've half 9-grain bread instead the serve said " I took it upon myself to fix it" my toast wasn't toasted well as I asked. It wasn't even toasted. We finally talked to the manager and he then said" I'm sorry he doesn't feel well that's why our food wasn't correct and the service was poor." I'm a server if you're feeling sick you should not be serving people food, so I brought that to the managers a attention he then said the server was and I quote word for word "sick in the head. He was having mental issues." OMG are you serious?! I will never go to this Denny's again! Such a shame so close to my parents house. And I hope they let the manager know you don't say things like this. Shame on the management team here. read more

Terrible experience so far. I came to do a job in Van Nuys, but I arrived early so I decided to come into Denny's to kill some time. I had just eaten and wasn't very hungry so I decided to get the quesadilla... I asked the waiter if it was an extra charge to have extra pico de gallo and sour cream, and his answer was, "well, do you want extra? You are only paying 2 dollars for the quesadilla." He never actually answered my question, he just left and didn't bring me extra, so I guess they DO CHARGE EXTRA, he could have said so. I only asked because one time I went to a Denny's with my younger brother and he asked for buffalo sauce on the side for his dry buffalo strips and the waiter charged him 90 cents for the sauce without even telling him it was extra, which I think is ridiculous. Anyways, maybe the guy was having a bad day, I'm sure he could be a great guy, but it is unacceptable to make the customer feel uncomfortable for asking a question! If a waiter is amazing I tip 30%, if he is good, I tip 20%. If he is bad I tip 10% , but in this case I didn't tip anything, because... I only paid 2 dollars for the quesadilla. (Haha) The quesadilla DID taste good, I go to Denny's at least 5 times a week because I drive a lot for my job. Some experiences are good, but this was not. Alright, so generally I never have problems with any other restaurant, but Denny's ALWAYS has terrible service! The food is usually good (for the most part) but they seriously need better employees. I was at this location just an hour ago eating with my friend, and let me tell you we've had one terrible dining experience. Our waitress barely checked up on us, took her 25 minutes just to bring out our appetizer which was the smothered cheese fries (the fries were barely warm and half the cheese wasn't even melted). Then another 15 minutes later we finally get our entrees. I got mine before my friend, so I had to wait for him to get his before I could start eating to be courteous. When he finally got his food, mine was already cold, and his was overcooked. It wasn't until I bit into my food until I finally realized that mine was overcooked too. You mean to tell me we waited 40 minutes just to get food that wasn't even cooked properly? Not to mention when I asked for water I got a super tiny cup that didn't even have ice in it. Nothing but a small cup of room temperature water. I had to ask her myself to give me a bigger cup and after looking at me funny for 2 seconds she said ok. Not once did she ever even come back to refill our cups or ask us if we needed anything else, and a lot of the time she was standing near us, glancing every now and then because she knew we were talking about how crummy the service was. She's so lucky we were generous enough to give her a 4 dollar tip. The service really depends on what time of the day you go to eat. I'm sure there are bad employees and there are good employees, but somehow every single time I go to Denny's I get terrible employees. Not ONCE have I had bad service in every other restaurant. Do yourself a favor and avoid Denny's, or at least avoid this location. read more
