Not recommended. The customer service is terrible. This is my story: On October, 2021 a student friend and I went in for breakfast around 9:30 in the morning. Although the place was empty the host, a young Indian boy, told us the wait was 20 minutes. It was hard to imagine a wait like that in an empty place, but we sat down anyway. After about 10 minutes of observing the tables that had patrons, I noticed that not a single table had been visited by a server. No wonder the wait was 20 minutes! We left. I'm generally a fan of Denny's for a quick, reasonably priced meal, but the management of this particular store is clearly sub par. My advice is to go to the IHop across the street. We were seated instantly and our food was fast, hot and delicious. read more

Even though this Denny's is located in the UV right by the UCR campus, I think I've only been here twice last year. I sorta feel destined to be scantily clad each time I'm here. One time it was after my formal and I had changed into a pink sorta lowcut tank top and black short shorts, and so it was like 7 AM and my date and I ended at Denny's. And I secretly found it amusing because he was still in his black dress shirt with the tie still on, I think, and black dress pants. I'm sure I must have looked like a prostitute. The other time, it was a late night grubbing after clubbing. I was in shiny, black clubbing attire. I think that's enough said. I'm totally off topic but who caresss. As for the actual food and service here... well, it's Denny's, I like Denny's. I think the service is good. Oh wait I remember one other time I was here. I was NOT wearing revealing clothes. To be honest, Denny's was one of my favorite restaurants until I visited this particular one. Denny's is known for its great hospitality however, I've seen none of that in this diner. Though the majority of the restaurant was empty when me and my friends walked in, it took them over 20 minutes to seat us even though some of the waiters there were just chatting amongst each other. The waiter messed up on our orders and even charged us extra for things we didn't order and receive. After our meal, we noticed that half the items listed in the receipt were things that we didn't order and receive and it took us over 30 minutes to resolve this issue with the manager who was also quite rude to us. For those of you who love Denny's, I would highly recommend not going to this one unless you expect to be disappointed. read more

I ate here on 8 Aug 2016. At 9:39 or so. Order number 638015. Janice the server was okay. The place was mostly empty. No lines. They don't have many parking places but they are there and reserved for Denny's customers. I came there to try the new pancakes. I found my pancakes undercooked in the center. See picture. I think that the cook slipped that night in rushing to make the pancakes. My order of pancakes took about 7 minutes to get to my table after i put it in. I don't know if that is fast or slow. Ordinarily I believed they had great food. The pancakes did taste okay until I got to the center. I will still be a Denny's customer after this but I will eat at another Denny's. read more

I only come here late night to fulfill a hunger during finals or come here to hangout with some coworkers. Service here lately has been pretty good, but there are days when I'm like where the heck are they. If I were to create an average on time of service it would be slow. LOL. I'm currently addicted to their zesty nachos at the moment. I come here and share half zesty nachos and half sampler plate. That's about $11 of food for two people to eat. When it comes to refilling drinks, they're not really on top of that, but they won't give attitude about it you ask POLITELY. read more

I'll start this review by saying something good: The waitress was very nice. I ordered an iced coffee that was very watered down & I also ordered the Slamburger. The burger was pretty good, until I saw a cockroach on the table. DISGUSTING! I told one of the employees about it and they didn't seem to care. If you're craving Denny's, go to a different one. Kinda sketchy since it's in Riverside; however, Denny's have adjusted their menus and added the $2,$4,$6, and $8 meals-- which are very affordable for simple American breakfast. Free wifi as well. Understaffed. I don't know if there has been a change in management recently or what, but a lot of the old staff are gone. Long wait times to sit, order, eat and pay. Also starting to notice it's not as clean anymore. Food quality remains consistent for Dennys quality as long as you can get your food while it's still hot. So I got a birthday offer in my email and decided to go get some breakfast. I was kinda excited but still its disappointing to not be able to sit down and enjoy your food during the pandemic (it is what it is- still) So basic Build your own Grand Slam for free! I ordered pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage. BUT while I was waiting I got a phone call which led me to go outside so I didn't disturb the few others in the building waiting for their orders. Then a homeless looking man walked up and mumbled to other men that were coming and going. He never said anything to me. He started to walk away and I yelled to him "Are you hungry?" He put up his hands in a prayer formation and somehow told me he was thirsty. After waiting for a little longer for food, the man that I assume to be a manager handed me my bag. I asked for a large ice water and he obliged with as much enthusiasm as anyone giving away free food while barely surviving during the pandemic can- I walked outside and handed the entire thing to the homeless guy. lol I said "here's breakfast!" I do plan to return to this location when things are "normal" I hope more people take care of other people. Life is hard! GHETTO....Going to UCR for school, you know there are areas you should not go into, the best rule of thumb is, don't go more that 2 blocks out of the main campus. It is literally surrounded by drug dealers, prostitute, homeless bums, hotels and motels (and I'm not kidding you, just drive on University after dark). This place is ONE block away from Campus, their wait is VERY VERY bad from 6-8pm. I'm not even going to get into the food...it's just like all Denny's, CoCo's and IHOPS, you would get better food, but they are either too far, too expensive, of the wait is too long! read more

Sometimes it takes the staff a bit to function, but otherwise it's fine. In fact, I would have expected it to be super ghetto because it's on university, but I was pleasantly surprised! read more

Wanted a late night snack and some coffee to wake me up and Dennys is usually the only place open. This one was very nice inside and clean. The waiter made me a fresh pot of coffee, kept it topped off. My food came out quick and perfect. Gotta get my Dennys fix now and than. good stuff! read more

If I can give a zero star I would. I am very displeased with the service we received today. We were a bigger party so I understand the wait time would be longer than expected. I have no issues with that. My issue was the manager and the waiter we had today. I've been here before and when they are short staffed they usually let us know and try their best, and that is much appreciated. But today on the other hand, not only was the manager rude but so was the waiter. I am familiar with being short staffed and understand the stress that comes with it, but I do my utmost best to keep everyone happy. Our waiter (Alejandra) was just rude and had an attitude. She was not patient and looked like she didn't even want to be there. Again, we were a bigger party so understand it's not easy to be patient. And we were very understanding since she was short staffed, but attitude was uncalled for. And the manage (Subdo if that's how you spell it) was much worse. When we mentioned how many we were going to be he already looked annoyed and mad. When it came to seating us he just left the menus on a separate table, apart from where we were going to sit and walked away. And instead of stepping in to help his employee with all the order he lets her to do it all herself instead of offering the help. I am very unhappy with this service, and will not be returning since I don't feel welcomed at that establishment. If you apply to a job where you know bigger parties come in, be prepared for the chaos. If you can't handle the stress that comes with it, it might be best to not apply to a place like that. I hate being a "Karen" but I'm sorry the service I received today was uncalled for and very disappointing. Either they get an attitude check or expect many customers to be unhappy. read more

Good thing Dennys is open 24 hours. It's certainly a good place for midnight munchies or if you're a gym rat on a budget. There's the $4 everyday breakfast slam that's loaded with macros and I think it's actually worth. My friends and I usually get it after every workout. But anyway, this time my friend and I got a turkey sandwich and zesty nachos and they were bomb. Check out my picture of it. As for the inside, it's pretty spacious and clean for the most part. But, I always get a little bad vibes when I come here though. There's always sketchy people lingering around and it makes me feel unsafe, but it's not Denny's fault I guess. Just a little fyi for whoever reads this review. But anyway, 3 stars because of the service. I was barely given any time to look at my menu, not even 1 minute. I'm not exaggerating. The waiter said he would come back in 3 minutes but my friend and I waited for such a long time and we saw that he was just socializing with other coworkers. We even requested water when we sat down, but never received it. The good thing is that luckily we can pay with the machines on the tables because we waited forever for our check to come after asking for it too. So, my friend and I said "screw it," we wont pay in person, just use the machine and leave. We got tired of waiting. Hopefully they can change this problem and for the guy to stop hugging and talking to other coworkers. I love that theyre having good vibes and spreading some love in the air but this is totally not professional. Save it for later so I can stop waiting for 15+ mins. If you order for pick up check your order. I placed my order online and paid so I could walk in and pick up. When I arrived at the stated time the order was not at the counter, no big deal the lady manager Isabel when to talk to the counter guy who said something about my Jr slam then grabbed the food and walked away. I should have checked it when I thought something was wrong at that point. I got home and of course something was missing. I did call back and let them know and the manger was dismissive about the whole thing. I understand mistakes are made but apologize and take ownership. I tried to ask for her name but she hung up on me so I called back later to get her name. I realize now he must have told her it wasn't quite ready and she didn't care enough to wait for the missing items she figured we wouldn't care or notice. Do not come to this location! The servers have terrible customer service. I was with a party of eight and was there for 45 min before anyone took our order. We asked serval times where our waitress was. She told our group she couldn't serve us cause she was off the clock. We got a new server. We complain and he didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. The food was ok...I went to go pay and the hostess was very rude to me. He told me that they do not except coupons at their restaurant. The absolute worst service I have ever experienced. I would give zero stars if I could. I am going to start off by saying not only will I NEVER go back to this denny's. I will never go back to ANY denny's again. I sat and waited for my daughters side after we were already served out food for 20 min. In that time we needed refills and I sat and waited to be checked on by my server. Finally i was fed up after another 10 minutes of waiting. I got up and went to find my server. When I found her she was doing her prep work so that she can go home. I told her I have been waiting 30 min for her to come back to my table. Then I was cut off by another server which told me she was off the clock and now he was my server. Apparently I was supposed to be a mind reader and know when they switch servers because no one ever came to my table to tell me anything. When I asked to speak to a manager the Male server told me she was on break and I would have to wait another 30 minutes to speak with her. I was in shock, I told him there is no one else in this restaurant I can talk to that is in charge, he said no one else is here. No assistant no one put in charge...We went around and around with him saying he can't help me and no one else could either. He was very snarky and thought he could shut me down and I would leave without consulting someone In charge. He was more Interested in showing off his lame new tattoo on his arm that doing his job. Anyways, Now I know for a fact this is not how Denny's runs things, but this is the second consecutive time that I have had horrible service at denny's. ...another server from a different table had to go tell the manager that a customer needed assistance because that lame tattoo server wouldn't help me at all. He just kept telling me no shes on break for 30 min no one can talk to you. But then.... She finally came over and I think that poor lady was beside herself and that restaurant was running her cause all she did was apologize and try to make me feel bad for how horrible her employees were.
