Denny's is always the spot to go to after a long night out, mainly because it is one of the few spots that are open 24/7. Their skillets always come out sizzling hot and is so good. They cook everything to perfection. read more

Lydia is a great server. She constantly checks in to see if we need anything else. Bubbly personality and provided fast service.

If you order for pick up check your order. I placed my order online and paid so I could walk in and pick up. When I arrived at the stated time the order was not at the counter, no big deal the lady manager Isabel when to talk to the counter guy who said something about my Jr slam then grabbed the food and walked away. I should have checked it when I thought something was wrong at that point. I got home and of course something was missing. I did call back and let them know and the manger was dismissive about the whole thing. I understand mistakes are made but apologize and take ownership. I tried to ask for her name but she hung up on me so I called back later to get her name. I realize now he must have told her it wasn't quite ready and she didn't care enough to wait for the missing items she figured we wouldn't care or notice. I can't say I'll be ordering again from here soon. read more

This has been my go to dennys for a while and im so excited that they had brought out the strawerry pancakes again. I would recomened 100% to try them out! They are served warm. Good service. Our Waitress Ruth had a very great attitude attentive. Manger was very welcoming and also very attentive. Will be coming back

Great service! My server, Daniel, was very kind and quick to take my order. Definitely recommend!

If I can give a zero star I would. I am very displeased with the service we received today. We were a bigger party so I understand the wait time would be longer than expected. I have no issues with that. My issue was the manager and the waiter we had today. I've been here before and when they are short staffed they usually let us know and try their best, and that is much appreciated. But today on the other hand, not only was the manager rude but so was the waiter. I am familiar with being short staffed and understand the stress that comes with it, but I do my utmost best to keep everyone happy. Our waiter (Alejandra) was just rude and had an attitude. She was not patient and looked like she didn't even want to be there. Again, we were a bigger party so understand it's not easy to be patient. And we were very understanding since she was short staffed, but attitude was uncalled for. And the manage (Subdo if that's how you spell it) was much worse. When we mentioned how many we were going to be he already looked annoyed and mad. When it came to seating us he just left the menus on a separate table, apart from where we were going to sit and walked away. And instead of stepping in to help his employee with all the order he lets her to do it all herself instead of offering the help. I am very unhappy with this service, and will not be returning since I don't feel welcomed at that establishment. If you apply to a job where you know bigger parties come in, be prepared for the chaos. If you can't handle the stress that comes with it, it might be best to not apply to a place like that. I hate being a "Karen" but I'm sorry the service I received today was uncalled for and very disappointing. Either they get an attitude check or expect many customers to be unhappy. read more

Do not come to this location! The servers have terrible customer service. I was with a party of eight and was there for 45 min before anyone took our order. We asked serval times where our waitress was. She told our group she couldn't serve us cause she was off the clock. We got a new server. We complain and he didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. The food was ok...I went to go pay and the hostess was very rude to me. He told me that they do not except coupons at their restaurant. He said I was lucky that the coupon went through. I'm never coming back here again! I'm very disappointed. read more

The absolute worst service I have ever experienced. I would give zero stars if I could. I am going to start off by saying not only will I NEVER go back to this denny's. I will never go back to ANY denny's again. I sat and waited for my daughters side after we were already served out food for 20 min. In that time we needed refills and I sat and waited to be checked on by my server. Finally i was fed up after another 10 minutes of waiting. I got up and went to find my server. When I found her she was doing her prep work so that she can go home. I told her I have been waiting 30 min for her to come back to my table. Then I was cut off by another server which told me she was off the clock and now he was my server. Apparently I was supposed to be a mind reader and know when they switch servers because no one ever came to my table to tell me anything. When I asked to speak to a manager the Male server told me she was on break and I would have to wait another 30 minutes to speak with her. I was in shock, I told him there is no one else in this restaurant I can talk to that is in charge, he said no one else is here. No assistant no one put in charge...We went around and around with him saying he can't help me and no one else could either. He was very snarky and thought he could shut me down and I would leave without consulting someone In charge. He was more Interested in showing off his lame new tattoo on his arm that doing his job. Anyways, Now I know for a fact this is not how Denny's runs things, but this is the second consecutive time that I have had horrible service at denny's. ...another server from a different table had to go tell the manager that a customer needed assistance because that lame tattoo server wouldn't help me at all. He just kept telling me no shes on break for 30 min no one can talk to you. But then.... She finally came over and I think that poor lady was beside herself and that restaurant was running her cause all she did was apologize and try to make me feel bad for how horrible her employees were. Which I did kinda feel bad but if you dont have a strong management you won't have a strong team. I told her I will never be back here and she seriously needs to send her employees to customer service training. So beware when chosing where you want to spend your hard earned money because that was the last cent they will ever get of mine. read more

First I have to say I am a Native Angeleno. Denny's has been a part of my life since forever. I have been to this particular Denny's several times since 1991 when I arrived in Riverside. I went last night and had the best tasting breakfast, made to order in a very, very long time. My friend has been looking for the place that has a great Country Fried Steak. FOUND IT. Right at Denny's up the street on University. I can honestly say about Denny's. EVERYTHING ON THEIR MENU is good. Great staff at this unit, very friendly and they'll take care of you. If it's busy, realize they are doing their best. They are a good crew of people. They care. read more

I cannot express my gratitude enough for this phenomenal institution. As soon as I walk in I know I am welcome and loved here. What truly puts this place beyond the rest is the staff. If I could give only one word to describe the incredible individuals that staff this marvelous place of eating, it would, without a doubt, be "John". You ask what John means to me? To me, John is a hero. A hero who would never put anything above a customer, or a great meal. I am elated to have been able to experience this place of eating, love, and John. read more

This isn't just a Dennys. This is a place for memories. A place to go after heat, spring splash, or the annual UCR drag show. I came in a group of 11. At first they said it would be a 30-40 minute wait for a table, but after about 10 minutes, they were already ready for us! Service was excellent - our food came quickly and all orders were correct. One person in our group ordered an Arnold Palmer, and when he tried it, it was gross. However, even before he told the waiter, the waiter brought him a new one which was much better. It's like he KNEW somehow! Also, another person in our group was having his birthday. The waiter got all the tables around us involved, and had them all sing a fun salsa version of the birthday song. Good experience all around. read more

I honestly keep coming back even though I hate it here. Every time I'm ready to break up with this place, there's one shred of goodness that keeps my faith going. But I'm done Denny's. I just can't deal with the shitty service, the long waits (even though it's EMPTY) and the horrid prices for really piss-poor quality food! None of this applies to one waiter though, Anthony. If he's your waiter, then you are set for an AMAZING experience. He is amazing, attentive, and always has a smile on his face. That can't be said about the bitch of a manager than can't even accept a compliment about Anthony. I told her how great he was and she just responded with "Well, Martin is better." Oh really? Did Martin make sure my coffee was never empty as I downed a fat burger trying to study for my final? I don't think so. And so today was my last visit to this establishment. The decision was made when I paid $3 for a handful of fries. Honestly, if portion sizes are going to be that pathetic, at least use a smaller serving plate. read more

Unfortunately I had to give at least 1 Star. The service and management team absolutely lack in customer service. We placed a to go order online, and waited about 20 min until someone came up to us and said that they didn't get the order until now. By this time, we just wanted to leave. Spoke to manager about a refund and she advised us we'd have to call grub hub since it was ordered through them, which was understandable and fine. She offered us a free drink since we waited so long and we waited another 6 min until it was brought to us. I think they forgot about us because we had to remind the manager. Overall just definitely won't be back. Not worth it. read more

Very good service, everyone greeted me and I was seated promptly. The waitress was so sweet and kind; she suggested a different meal choice that came with all the items that I wanted plus an orange juice for $1 less. Food came out rather quickly. Coffee was offered immediately and the waitress informed me of creamer flavors, she was very helpful and friendly. Food was good but I had to deduct a point because I ordered over medium eggs and they came out runny and gooey but other than that everything was great! Would recommend this location! read more

This was one of the worst Denny's I've ever been to. Alexa was our server today , super sweet girl. Had a huge section of tables and still manage to keep up with everyone.

Decided to go to denny's for breakfast this morning. When we walked in, there were no greetings or anything. So I decided to wait at the waiting area. As we were waiting, one table was ready to leave. The cashier came, and told us "give me a minute." He then went to help the customers who were ready to pay. Strike 1 When he was done helping those customers, he left without seating us. Strike 2 When he did came back, there were other customers who were ready to pay their bills. So he said to us, "give me a minute" again Strike 3 and I am out the door! Rude service How hard is it for you to seat customers down? Besides, the restaurant was so empty too. TO SUMMARIZE, THIS WAS THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED AT ANY RESTAURANT. PLUS, THERE WAS A HAIR IN MY FOOD. First of all, I had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated in the half-empty restaurant. I was given the wrong drink. My toast was burned. Our waitress never checked to make sure we didn't need anything. Then, a few bites into my meal, I found a hair in my meal. I nearly threw up. I was brought a replacement meal what was under-cooked. My burnt bread was not replaced. Lastly, when I spoke to the manager who had the audacity to charge me for the poor service and disgusting food I received, he didn't apologize for the hair and handled the entire situation very poorly. This service was the worst I have ever received in my life. read more

Why the one star review? Perhaps it was because we were seated before a party of 6, yet served afterwards. Maybe it was because there was hair on my plate of food. Another reason could be that there was a homeless person washing themselves in the restroom. Or could it possibly be because management made an awful dining experience even more awkward? Answer: All of the above. All of these issues occurred in a single visit. Avoid this place. read more

If you are waited by a noob named Timothy S., you better order and ask for everything you need the first time, because he won't be checking back on you until 20 minutes after you are done and that is when he will stop by with your bill. My past 3 visits, I had been waited by him and all 3 times, he never stopped by to check on us. Therefore, do not ever order some sort of beverages because it will not be refilled and ask for everything you need the first time around. He also got the orders wrong for the table behind us. Due to his mistakes, he went back and forth to that table about 5-6 times over the course of 10 minutes, and none of those time he ever came to check up on us despite me putting two empty cups at the corner of the table. Took 30 minutes for the food to come out and 20 minutes after we finished eating to get the bill. Also, he literally waited for everyone to finish their food, so he can print out all the bills for every table and passed them out at the same time. When I finally got the bill, I was quite upset and did not leave any tip. I felt that he did not deserve any as he did not even serve us. All he did was took the order and gave me the bill, so I believe that his wage covers that. I am always a generous tipper; however, there were no service this time. Also, as I headed to the front counter to pay and get out, he followed and told the cashier that he will take care of my bill when it came to my turn. After paying, he realized that I did not leave any tips and had the nerves to put me on the spot and ask me how much tips I am giving. Service was terrible, especially by Mr. Timothy. However, the foods were pretty good, but slightly warm and not hot as usual. I overheard him asking the table behind us if they wanted the food right away or wait until all of the foods are finished. So, I suspect that he probably waited for all of the orders to finish to bring it. Hence, one of the plate was warm and the other hot. Either way, 2 stars for the food. Won't be back again as I see where this Denny's is headed, such a shame since I have been coming here regularly over the past four years. read more

Today I decided to stop by Denny's on University with my family for dinner. The waitress comes by to take our drink order. I ordered a chocolate shake, my daughter ordered a cake shake only to be told there was no vanilla ice cream and my son ordered an Oreo shake only to be told they use vanilla ice cream to make the Oreo shake. Then I ordered boneless wings , I was told they didn't have buffalo sauce. This is ridiculous. On the brighter side the waitress was very attentive, and nice. I wish I could've given her the 5stars but I'm rating the establishment. read more

Oh my God this place is full of fail. I think it's probably because it is near a college, has mostly college kids for customers, and has mostly college kids for servers. Came on a Saturday And first time back after 3 years and It was packed with usual weekend craziness. I am not sure about their ordering system. For a Denny's, I really like this one Because of the great service that I have experienced. Contrary to popular opinion it seems, maybe the other workers were not that great, but I have had positive experiences with Jose. Basically every night before midterm or a final I like to cram and stay up all night. Where else better to stay up all night and study then Denny's where I can get unlimited iced coffee refills along with food anytime I want. Although caveat is that it gets a little loud some nights, and definitely the crowds at night are a little stranger than during the day. My experience with this dennys is that the food is alright, but what do you expect from a Denny's right? However, the service from Jose was great. He would constantly give me refills on my coffee, and kept checking back every time he walked by and saw my glass becoming empty. He was as much of a bro as a server could get. He always had a smile on his face and was just overall an example of great service. Overall, I will be back here throughout the school year during midterm/final season, and you can most likely find me sitting at that one table next to the outlet, at 3 a.m. with my ipad/laptop studying while eating a plate of food along with a few glasses of iced vanilla coffee on the table. read more
