My friends and I ordered meals from yelp. We waited for 40 minutes and after that waiting period we went into the store to pick up our order. We were told our orders were canceled...which was fine but we were just confused because we didn't get a notification. We tried to talk to the employees there but the cook was VERY rude and gave us attitude when we were trying to figure out what was going on. Very unhappy with this visit. read more

Can someone please clean the bathrooms? I know it's busy but there is NO reason for a restroom to look and smell like it hasn't seen cleaning products in a while. I know guests/people are rude and inconsiderate and leave their disgusting messes everywhere (urine all over the seat and floor, used toilet paper and toilet seat covers crumpled and forming a small hill in the corner) but this should be addressed. I've been on that bathroom cleaning side of customer service and cleaning toilets is NEVER fun but as a consumer I can't imagine ever wanting to come back to a Denny's to EAT when the bathroom door opens and it smells like someone has opened Pandora's box of foul aromas and impending doom. read more

Now I don't normally like or care for Denny's. This one is in the Flying J truck stop and I found it to be set up very nice and open. The wait staff is very friendly and they take good care of their customers. Only had a burger but it was very good and the fries were hot and unsalted as I asked. I'm not picky about Denny's. I love the moons over my hammy. Today my son ordered the moons over my hammy omelet. It came with cold , unmelted cheese inside. Sent it back and got another omelet with unmelted refrigerator cold cheese inside. (see photo). Finally just asked the waitress (after finally getting her attention to bring him scrambled eggs with cheese on top. He was a very disappointed boy. My wife arrived at Denny's today for lunch. We counted about 15 people in the restaurant. We had to wait about 3 minutes to be seated. Once seated we had to wait about another 3 minutes while the waitress had a conversation about her personal life in order to take our drink order. After another 10 minutes the waitress took our lunch order. After about 30 minutes our lunch was served. My wife ordered the club sandwich with a coke and I ordered the western burger with ice tea. My ice tea was dry and the waitress never offered a refill. The whole lunch meal was lousy. My wife's sandwich bread was hard as it must have sat out all day. My burger was dry and very boring. our fry's tasted like they fried them in old used oil that other products were fried in. Yuck!!!! Our bill turned out to be close to $30.00 for one of the worst meals we have had in a long time. I honestly don't mind spending the money for top notch food, but this was horrible. The same restaurant use to be the Country Kitchen which was just outstanding. I sure miss it because I will not be back at this Denny's. Not recommended!!! read more

They remodeled their dining area. Very clean and up to date. Staff is very friendly no matter what time you end up coming in. Waiters and waitresses are always nice. Diana was the last waitress I had and she came to our table multiple times to check on us and to refill drinks. read more

some how we always come at night when we don't want to cook. Always get the same thing 1/2 nachos chicken strip, cheese sticks, onion rings platter (jalapenos cost extra) the food is always consistently good (for dennys) the staff is always super sweet to us. only one time did they get our order wrong and it was the full nacho plate vs the 1/2 the lady changed it at the register. read more

Came here long time ago when it was Country Kitchen, now it's Denny's. The waitstaff was very nice, they get busy b/c they have to bus their own tables, poor gals. We got ourselves the Grand Slams, pick 4 items, extras are $.99 each. I ordered the chicken sausage patty, turkey bacon strips, eggs, and hash browns, and some fruit (turn out to be a small bowl of apple wedges, slices of banana, and some red grapes). Was trying to eat "healthy" that morning, watching my girly figure ya know. Everything was expected, after all it's a Denny's, I don't set my expectation too high here. read more

We had been wanting to spend time with our friends over a nice meal on a Thursday night. We arrived at the restaurant, and there are only 4 tables busy, and all had their food already. Upon arriving with a party of 11, an employee by the name of Tiffany, told us they wouldn't be able to give us service for about 30 minutes until all the tables left because they only had 1 server and 2 in training. Keep in mind, there were only 4 tables occupied and all had their food already. Our party consisted of only 6 children, 1 baby, and 4 adults. L yesAll of us in attendance work in the restaurant service industry at diners and such. We know the business and we know how it works. Even on the busiest day with clients outnumbering employees, it is the industry's job to ensure we meet the basic entitlement of human decency and attempt to grant the best service we can as people. There are justifications that are comprehensible for certain services that are received in cases such as these with lack of employees, but despite it is known that they attempted their best and that is applauded. Sadly, though, it was apparent that we were denied service in a time where service could have been provided due to other reasons. Not reasons due to to incapability of staff or the chaos of a busy day. Only reasons beyond our understanding of what it is to discriminate. So, to Denny's and Tiffany, I am disappointed in this service. I can only hope you guys learn what it means to treat others as you would like to be treated! God bless. read more

I live about 12 miles from this establishment - The place was filthy - Food on the tables, food on the floor, the salt & pepper shakers as well as the table was sticky & nasty. The food was horrible!! And the final straw - We we went to pay the bill the manager was at the register with a towel wrapped around his hand and blood visibly dripping to the floor. I refused to deal with him & had a cashier brought to another register. Half way through my transaction he called up yet another cashier (no sanitization to the register) to take his place and he left leaving her STANDING IN HIS BLOOD on the floor (8 or 10 droplets the size of quarters). I haven't been to a Denny's in over 10 years & I will NEVER set foot in one again! My next comments will be to the Health Department.. read more

I love how the staff in these small towns are so happy and friendly. Makes me consider living a simpler, more rural life. The food was above average for Denny's. I had one of the fall seasonal specials with Jalapeño Honey bacon, loaded hash browns fried eggs and pancakes with raspberries and vanilla creme. The bacon was thicker than the flimsy thin slices you've come to expect at a place like this. They were not too spicy. Much appreciated the upsell from the waitress to the loaded hash browns. This means they add cheese, grilled onions and country gravy to the top of them. Eggs cooked accurately and pancakes were tasty. The 6-piece hush puppies with syrup for dessert were good too. Normally like Denny's quite a bit but the burger I got was not good, it didn't taste right. I'm VERY easy to please when it comes to hamburgers and I didn't like this one at all. My wife didn't like her dinner at all either, she had the salmon and said it was severely overcooked and that her entire meal had too much salt. read more

3-4 times a year, my son and I are in Rippon for the day. We always have lunch at Denny's and as luck would have it, we always have server Jenna T. She is GREAT! Very accommodating, extremely nice, always smiling.... do not think I have had better service anywhere. She is a model of satisfaction and wish I had this type of service anywhere I go. But unfortunately, there is only on Jenna T. My son and I always have the lunch chicken fried steak. It is pretty good, but really cannot compare it to what I have had in Texas. But outside of Texas, this was a great meal. Portion is large and tasty. Oh, might I add that during one of our trips to Rippon it was around 105 degrees outside, blistering! When Jenna brought us the bill, she also brought travel cups of refill ice tea! (she offered the same service last time we went as well) How completely thoughtful of her knowing we were stuck outside at the sports arena down the street! Super bird sandwich was solid. Jr hot fudge sunday was sublime as was waitress "Dulce" aka Dulcinea, who was outstanding in every aspect. (I am personally convinced that Dulce is short for Dulcinea, à la Dulcinea del Toboso from Miguel de Cervantes' novel Don Quixote) Its amazing how a servers attitude can dictate the tone of one's entire dining experience. Not only was my waitress extremely efficient and very fast, and I mean fast like a humming bird, she was also very kind and made sure everything was perfect. From ordering to check out. First and foremost, this is a typical truck stop restaurant, so all these negative reviews that are before my review could probably be from people that do not understsnd the culture. Truckers can be dirty and aggressive from the long haul, so this Dennys is going to be molded towards that environment. We arrived from carrying freight around 7:30 PM on 8/16 to have dinner. We were reluctant to eat there because we didn't want the typical Dennys experience where the food can taste bland. This Dennys is a diamond in the ruff, because the food taste fresh, it comes out really fast, and the service was exceptional. I wish I could give this 0 stars! I should have looked at reviews before coming here but Ripon has such a good and quaint reputation. This place is horrible. I ordered two skillets with a side of bacon, toast, pancakes, and specific easy made to order directions. Please don't put any burbon sauce on the skillet. The food was slop! Potatoes were soggy, toast burnt (who burns toast? ) food just drenched in oil and dumped in a to go box. They didn't even give me the stupid bacon which I paid 3.59 for. The steak skewers looked looked like some other animal. It didn't look like steak. The food looked like it was prepared and cut by a five year old. What a waste of my time ! Next time I'll go to the Denny's in my local city. The manager didn't care about my complaint. Service was horrible and better to check the food before picking up a to go order! read more

Came here today with my grandfather, and was seated quickly. However it took ten minutes for somebody to come to our table, and almost an hour for our food to come out. Our salads came out with the dinner. We then had noticed that our dinners were each missing a side, we talked to the manager and she didn't help at all. All I can say is the service here stinks. It's not very often I get to visit with my dad, who's an over-the-road trucker. So the fact that the waitstaff was polite and not trying to rush us out the door was a pleasant surprise. It was one of those rare days with rain! The restaurant got fast full with truck drivers waitiing for loads and other visitors! Still, the server was fast, friendly and had a good sense of humor. The service was nice. The food was good for a truck stop Denny's. I ordered a strawberry shake and lumberjack slam. The shake was watery but still has a good taste. Still though it's more of strawberry milk than a shake. The lumberjack slam has pancakes, toast, hash browns, sausage links, bacon and ham. Most of it was good but the hash browns didn't feel completely done. At the end of the day I would recommend this place to anyone on the road looking for a quick bite, but not a place to go regularly. read more
