I feel like most of the reviews on here are judging this place way to hard and disregarding those two important facts. Anyways... We had the sweetest waitress who took fantastic care of us. She was very attentive and was also the hostess. I respect someone with a good work ethic. Our food was made quickly and we were in and out within an hour. 3 stars because the place was a little...grimy. This Denny's doesn't get enough credit! I absolutely love this location, it's become out little family spot the days our toddler wakes up extra early and we're exhausted. We just moves to Pleasant Grove and I'm going to miss going here. I can only speak for the Grand Slam Slugger, but it's always cooked to perfection. The pancakes are fluffy and yummy, the eggs are cooked perfectly, the sausage is great, and the hash browns are the best around. Honestly, it's rare to get non soggy hash browns. The servers are freaking hustling, they work so hard. One of the servers there recognized me, and knew my order by heart, the dude is a champion. Look, I know it's a Denny's, but when you want that Denny's tasting food, this is the place to go. We all know it's not high end food, it's freaking Denny's. But the people here and the food really are trying their absolutely best, and it does the job for me. I love this Denny's, it holds a lot of sweet memories for my little growing family. Last night we went at 11 and got there and the waiter pointed at a bunch of booths and asked "do you see that booth?" We didn't know what to say cause there was 5 empty ones so we went and sat down. We decided to go to Denny's (the American Institution that is always open). Much to our surprise, everyone that spoke Spanish (including us and yes, they were literally conversing in Spanish) was placed on one side and all the Arians we're placed on the other. We didn't want to assume the worst, so we watched as other patrons entered and we're seated. Just to be sure, we saw two more groups of blonde haired and blue eyed patrons entered. Okay, in all honesty I didn't think of the establishment first. I was trying to think of somewhere I could give a one-star rating. But this definitely fits the bill. Every time I go I swear I'll never go back. But somehow it ends up being 3am on a week day with nowhere to go, and this place gets picked over IHOP or Village Inn or fast food. Service always sucks. The one exception was the time our crazy eyes, chatty server was seemingly hopped up on something (coke, meth, adderall, who knows?). But hey, he was all fast and enthused so maybe it should be a corporate policy. Food always sucks. Try the grasshopper shake if you want to spare the taste buds. Managers need to train there servers & whole staff.the first time was horrible service , our waitress forgot our order , it took an hour and a half for a drink . 2 hours for food. I have been here many times and have had mixed experiences. Sometimes the food is great and wait times. Other times it has been mediocre food with very long wait times (upwards of 45 minutes since ordering). I liked the hobbit menu when they had it and can usually find something tasty on the seasonal menus. Last night we had a group of 10 adults and 10 children. We had called in an hour prior to notify Denny's that our group would be coming in later that night. We arrived at Denny's around 9pm. Denny's was not prepared for us. We organized the tables on our own. The waiter that was given to us was 'supposedly new'. (Why would you place a new staff with a large group?!) The children got their food first, which was fine. It took over an hour for our food to arrive to our table and by then all of the children we're done with their food. Our orders were wrong, some things weren't even brought out to us. It was sad and unacceptable. If there had been a ton of other customers in Denny's at the time I could've understood, but it was empty when we walked in. The manager said he was oblivious to all of this. The name of the game when it comes to any sit down place is service. You don't serve me well then why did I bother eating at a sit down place. I don't say that to sound snobby, that's how I see any sit down place. This place BLEW. Legit took 15 mins to get the waiter to ask for our drinks. 10 mins later we got water. Our waiter sure as heck didn't. We were there from 9-10:45am. Refilled the water once. It's water man. I'm thirsty when I'm eating. Two glasses won't cut it. Especially with bready food like pancakes and French toast. All I'm asking for is for you to check up and ask if I want more water. Not that hard. Looks like that's a commonality in this Denny's. Even the people next to us were complaining bc they only got 2 cups of coffee the hour or so they were there since the waiter disappeared. I usually enjoy Denny's and they usually do a good job at something as simple as pouring water into a glass. Good food, mediocre service. Seriously the chipotle in sandy does a better job at serving. I visited on Christmas Eve and found the environment and hospitality deplorable, with the manager having a bad attitude and the tables uncleared with the dirty dishes and debris. The serving of the Grand Slam plus avocado burger with hash brown taste average, which is what I would expect. However, the premise was badly understaffed, which explains why not a single table has been bussed and cleaned, including the couple and large group of the family when I came in and stayed for an hour. Either the wait staff comprise only one on duty, or busperson is nonexistent to take care of the tables to prepare for the next visitors. I found the generally bad attitude bore by the inept and visibly frustrated (perhaps stressed) staff at this restaurant abominable that reflect the overall quality in serving which include cashiering with the bill payment (the woman had a seriously bad attitude like she's angry all the time) and unbussed tables. One of the worst dining experiences I ever had. My visit was demoralizing and I left depressed reflecting on the bad attitude by the staff with visibly somber and almost depressed patrons who noticed what I described. Caveat emptor. read more

Super sweet guy served our group, and we were loud and the girls were fabulous, but no one minded.
