Food 3/5 Service 5/5 Not sure what other reviews are talking about, I've been here several times sometimes late at night, others in the mornings. The staff have always been really cool and attentive.

I went with a friend on a Friday around noon. There weren't a lot of people, so service was fairly quick. The server was nice. The pancakes were slightly smaller than I expected. They were just regular pancakes, nothing special. I only had pancakes this time, but Denny's also has a bunch of other options that are pretty good.

Our server was Kaylee and she did a fantastic job of managing her assigned dining area. As I observed, Kaylee visited the tables in the order the customers were seated, while servicing her other tables, all with a smile on her face. When she got to our table, I told her to breathe and let her know she was doing a great job. With the national staff shortage, I think it's important to be grateful for anyone working in the service industry, especially if they are providing service with a smile. At any rate, the reason for the 4 stars is that although Kaylee was wonderful, our steaks were not up to par. My husband and I both ordered the steak and eggs, requesting that our steaks be medium, not medium rare and not medium done, just medium. When our food arrived, one look at both of our steaks and we both knew that it was overcooked. One bite in and our collective fear was confirmed - our steaks were well done. We didn't complain though and ate what we could. The rest of our food was just fine. The restaurant was a little busy, it was a Thursday night in a college town after all, and I think the staff handled it well. Do I recommend this location? Yes, as long as you keep in mind that the kitchen staff may overcook your steak. :) Also bear in mind that the wait staff are mainly college age kids just trying to make a buck. Would I return if ever in the area again? Yes, I would.

Good food and generous portions. Try the T-bone and the pancakes. Waitresses are super nice! Definitely will come back again.

Not impressed. If you want crappy service from low paid college students that don't care, you found your place.

Eh. It's Denny's. But this Denny's only has one cook. And this Denny's takes two hours to make just one sandwich....

Okay, The Block might be my new favorite restaurant in Provo. Every single course delivered…read more We started with honey butter and rolls (dangerous in the best way), then moved to the ricotta and focaccia; perfectly balanced and honestly could've stopped there and been happy. But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

It was first time trying Block and overall it was a neutral experience. I was with a bigger party…read moreand our table was well attended to. However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

The server was attentive to my needs, took enough time to have conversation, but also left me to enjoy my meal. Being a restaraunt in a hotel the decor was pretty plain. Open with tables closer together than most would prefer. I really wanted the buffet to get started. Most companies are not as generous as mine giving me a $25 allowance for breakfast, but even at that a $22 buffet does not leave room to leave the server a reasonable tip. They should take this into consideration when pricing. There are many other breakfast buffets that are priced much more favorably and usually have a bigger selection. I opted for the western omlette. It was served with potatos which were fine. The omlette taste fine but was really scrambled eggs with ham and veggies mixed in, cooked, then folded in half and topped with cheese. An omlette with the veggies and cheese stuffed inside a thin egg base is always so much better. Hotel food is usually about convenience, so I got what I expected, decent service, acceptable food and a price point higher than average.

We came because we wanted gourmet burgers. Turns out that their two burgers were bison burger. No thanks. No matter. My friend and I had the Traditional Navajo Taco(s) and his wife had the Sheep's Steak Salad. Everything was delicious. I put the "s" in parentheses because the menu is in plural but it really is just one taco. The Navajo Taco description from their website: Our Navajo tacos are a true taste of tradition--crispy, fluffy fry bread tacos topped with flavorful ingredients, served alongside cilantro-lime rice and pinto beans. Whether you're searching for Indian tacos near you, Navajo food, or the best tacos in Provo, this dish hits the spot. Find out why so many call this the top Navajo taco at one of the most authentic Navajo restaurants around. Also known as Navaho tacos, it's a must-try comfort food. It was excellent. The fry bread was nice and spongy and the toppings were flavorful. The refried beans and the rice were also excellent. Not just good, but excellent. She really enjoyed her steak salad as well. All in all a really good meal, didn't even miss the gourmet burgers. So yes, you better make a reservation. And this was a Thursday night. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

The jalapeño ranch brings just enough heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the brightness of the mango or the creaminess of the avocado. It's a well-composed dish, and easily the best thing I have eaten so far during an entire week in Utah. The sweet potato fries matched it: crispy outside, soft inside, the kind of side you keep reaching for without meaning to. Service was fast, atmosphere rustic and clean. No ceremony, no friction.
