Surprisingly good! My friends and I came to this Denny's location on a Saturday morning. We were genuinely surprised at how nice this one is. I have never seen a Denny's with a outdoor patio, fire pit, and with personalized decor. Usually, diners like this that are open 24/7, are a bit ran down, but this one was much different. The beer bottle display and Pleasanton light-up sign were super cute and really boosted my first impression. We were sat as soon as we walked in with no wait. Despite it being what I would think is a busy time, the restaurant was relatively empty. So, all of the guests were sat in the same area of the restaurant. Despite this, it was pretty quiet. I really enjoyed the music - they were playing everything from EDM to country. I ordered the Berry Vanilla Two-Crepe Breakfast with sausage and eggs cooked over easy. I also had a few bites of my friend's Diner Dipper, with boneless buffalo wings, Cheesy Bacon Ranch Sliders, and Mozzillas. We had a table for five, and all of our food came out super quick and hot. The food was as expected. The crepe was amply filled with the vanilla cream and had fresh berries on top. The sausages were super tiny but cooked well. My eggs felt a little underdone because the whites were runny, but still tolerable. The mozzarella sticks in the dipper were huge and piping hot. They had a nice seasoning to them. I enjoyed the meal overall! The server was very friendly. He was very well-mannered and personable. I did find it a bit odd though that when one of the people at our table asked for all of our waters to be refilled, the server brought us another two glasses of water instead of actually refilling them. It was a bit awkward to try and fill all five of our glasses with the two glasses we were given, but it was really no big deal. I would definitely revisit this Denny's location! read more

They have some healthy items on the menu like wild salmon with broccoli and whole grain rice. Further, the restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. However, I do wish they were better staffed to efficiently attend to customers in a timely manner. Sometimes the wait is excessive. Still, they get 5 stars for the wild salmon! Sometimes wild fish dishes aren't even available in fine dining restaurants. Thank you Denny's! read more

Came here on a Friday night at around 8pm for dinner but the restaurant did not have many items on the menu available. Spaghetti and meatballs is not available. Soup of the day was unavailable too. Not impressed at all. The staff were courteous and friendly. So that's good. read more

Overall a very pleasant experience. Huge menu with a ton of options for all diets. Food came quickly, and was tasty. Service was great, they had initially forgotten butter on my pancakes but immediately recognized it was missing upon delivery to the table, and ended up giving me a bunch on the side. My worst Dennys experience I've ever had! I'm an emt that was on shift with my partner we stopped by at 1:30am got seated right away there was one table before us my work partner ordered a root beer and I got the pancake grand slam. After 40 mins I had asked our waiter Lmedina 4 times for the root beer where he looked at me confused and walked away it wasn't until I asked a different server for it that we finally received the drink. The pancake grand slam is supposed to come with 2 eggs, two slices of bacon, 2 sausages, hash browns and your choice of pancakes after waiting 50 mins for my food to come out I only had one sausage and one slice of bacon. Me and my partner got a call and didn't have time to explain the issue, we payed and left in a hurry. I tried to call after we finished our call and speak to a manager but the same server answered the phone and hung up on me when I asked. The bad: * Took 15 minutes to get coffee, and the cold coffee drinks are awful * Took another 20 minutes for food to arrive, and it was lukewarm - clearly had been waiting for some time under the warming lights. * Completely understaffed - one server covering at least 10 tables in multple sections and also the register! * Never brought more coffee * Failed to apply 15% AARP discount but instead ripped me off by apply 5% AAA discount No wonder Black Bear is crowded and Denny's is not- bigger portions, faster service. Last visit to Denny's was more than a decade ago and sadly it has gone way downhill. Was a big fan and literally to live here about 4 decades ago but clearly it jumped the shark. read more

We came on a Sunday after dining at a Thai restaurant for our anniversary. We didn't feel like having Thai dessert . But rather , we craved for some American desserts like Brownie a la mode! So we decided to visit Denny's to have my dessert fix! We got there around 8:30pm and there was only one table occupied so it was nice and quiet. Our server was Francisco and he was very welcoming and kind. We ordered an Oreo shake, 1 brownie sundae, 1 apple crisp to share among 4 people. Since we were already full from our Thai dinner, we didn't want to have too much dessert. But still, didn't want to order too little. But Francisco might have thought we haven't eaten yet, so for the apple crisp, he gave us 3 huge scoop of ice cream!!! The picture in the menu was just 1 scoop! The ice cream on top of the brownie was also huge! So instead of 2 ice cream, we got 4 big generous scoop. 1 per person on top of the big Oreo shake! Each dessert was less than $6 each and the total was $19 ! One of the Thai dessert would have been $12-$17!! Thanks Francisco for giving us a memorable and joyous anniversary! Just disappointed I ordered food to go and it was given to me this way. I chose ordering there over a fast food restaurant and couldn't even eat my food. I took a picture of how burnt the food was and you can visibly see it was cooked in old grease. I never complain but who packs someone's food like that? I have managed restaurants for years and this was a choice. As a customer I much rather waited longer for edible food which is what I thought I was doing by choosing a restaurant over a drive thru. We were looking for a late-night dinner in the area. First time eating at this location. Upon arrival- it was clean. We were greeted right away and we were told to pick anywhere to sit. It was not too busy. We had an attentive server. We placed our orders: sampler, ultimate omelet, moons over hammy, chocohanna pancakes, Jr. cheeseburger, and cheeseburger. My husband and I had a few bites into the omelet and the regular cheeseburger. We noticed that our orders were not correct. We were given the Veggie omelet. The cheeseburger was not cooked thoroughly, and it had the wrong cheese. We spoke with our server and he confirmed it was incorrect. He would have the cook redo the orders. By the time it came, we were already "full", our appetites had came and left. We tried eating a few bites. Upon checking out, the cashier was rude. This Denny's location is in a small quieter plaza. There is some parking out front with some designated parking for this restaurant as well. I ordered online, so it was almost ready when I arrived. The difficult part was trying to flag down an employee to get my order - it was not busy, but it looked like there was only 1 server working the whole restaurant that night. After getting the attention of an employee - he looked at me without saying anything and proceeded to go take orders instead of even just at least acknowledging me. When I was finally helped, I still had to wait a bit for him to pack and bag my order with all the sides, condiments, and utensils. I get that the employee was the only one working the floor, but I feel like I could at least be acknowledged or something when I was just standing at the front counter waiting to be helped. Anyway, after receiving my order - I wished I checked it because I did not do so until I got to my car and I had to come back because they were missing a bunch of things for my order. I ordered their Berry Waffles and Strawberry Vanilla Crepes with fruits and whipped cream on the side. Everything was separated, but the to go containers were packed horribly that everything kind of leaked everywhere, so it was pretty messy. The waffles were rock hard and really dry even with the butter, sugar, and sauce. The crepes were overly sweeten and kind of dissolves / melts in your mouth, so that was not that enjoyable either. I'm down here in the Dublin area for work and it's my birthday. One of my crew suggests I go to Denny's for a free breakfast. Really, they do that? Well, OK, then off we go. Seated fine, I ask about the free breakfast. They say I get a gran slam or something like that. It's eggs, hash browns, 4 pieces of breakfast meat and 2 big pancakes. Hey, that's a lot of food for free! The food comes out pretty quick and wow, that a lot of food. The hash browns look nice and crispy how I like and the eggs I get scrambled. The pancakes come with a big blob of butter on top and all hot and steaming. There's syrup on the table for the pancakes. The food is yummers and hot and filling. I haven't had pancakes in a restaurant for as long as I can remember. This was a great free breakfast! I'll have to remember this next year! read more

That was it. 45 minutes later I ask for an update and waiter says too busy and backed up. Asked for manager and nothing. I get up go to the service line and manager is chopping it up laughing with cooks. I ask why the delay, he says he has other orders before mine. IT'S FRICKEN FREEZEN - TURN UP THE HEAT Dear Denny's Management: Your store in Pleasanton is the coldest of the other Denny's locations in the SF Bay Area I frequently go to in late evenings, between midnight and 6:00 am. I am a big Denny's fan, love the food, and receive exceptional service from your staff, as well as at the other locations I eat at, which include San Leandro, Hayward, Livermore, and Tracy. One late evening in July, I stopped by your Pleasanton store, sat down and had to go get my down parka from the car, because I was shivering cold in less than five minutes. I asked my server (Julian) if he could raise the temperture and was informed the thermostat was located in the office and the manager locked the door when he left. As such, there was no way to get into the office to turn up the heat. Since then, I have visited more than a dozen times and most every time wear my down parka to mitigate the cold temperatures. I no longer ask my server to raise the room's temperature, as it's pointless when staff can not access the thermostat. Tonight was no exception, but I did ask my server (Ruth) if she could turn up the heat. She repeated July's reply that there was no way to get into the locked office to operate the thermostat. She also agreed with me that it was uncomfortably cold and she was leaving her shift early because it was unbearble. My request is to provide an office key to the graveyard staff so that someone can operate the thermostat. Or, just leave the office open ot relocate the thermostat. I had to finish a project tonight and decided to go and sit in my car. Outside is significantly warmer than the inside. The experience was awesome, such a beautiful restaurant and staff !! I did not feel rushed and was greeted with genuine kindness. The staff was terrific and if I may say the manager on duty (Sherry) was a ray of sunshine visiting every table with a big smile and a genuine person asking if they/we had everything we needed. That: s very rare these days to watch the higher people in charge to have such warmth and really care people are taken care of !! The manager, Sherry is a keeper and an asset in everyday !!
