First time trying this place for breakfast on a Saturday morning. First thing to know for first time patron like me, there are two doors to enter. Left door- is for pick up order. Right door is for dine in with red ropes to wait in line. There's a menu you have to look to order. The line can be long and it was about 10 mins before I got to the front register. They have sample cookies above the bakery display. Complimentary water and hibiscus tea to the left of the register and to go containers on the bottom. Service- after taking my order. Was about another 10-15 mins before we got our food. Ube pancake and made it a combo with egg and bacon. Pancake was $22 and the add was another $15. My wife and I thought the pancake was good and rich. The syrup was thick and they had maple syrup on the table if you wanted. I'd give the pancake 5 stars. Bacon was okay- kinda stiff. Nothing special 3 stars My loco moco was with the meatloaf. To be honest, it was okay. I've had better loco moco especially in Hawaii. Meat was fine, gravy was thick and some part of it clumped up into a gelatin . If I have to be honest, it's a 3 out of 5. On the seat yourself tables, there is ketchup, salt pepper and Tapatio for hot sauce. I'm more of a Tabasco type person and wished they had it to put on my Loco Moco. Overall, Denica has a unique set up of ordering first at the register than other typical sit down and order at a table. I think their bakery is probably their strong suit. My family and I came for a late lunch here and were pleasantly surprised to see that it was not too crowded. I found it interesting to order at the counter and find your own seat, but that worked out well for us, as we were able to find a table with space for our two young daughters. They enjoyed playing with the train set while we placed our food order. We got kids chicken strips with fries, guava pancakes and loco moco with beef patty. The girls enjoyed their chicken strips and fries. The guava pancakes were light and fluffy with a great guava sauce on top. I wish there were more kiwi and strawberry pieces. The real winner was the loco moco. We weren't sure what to expect when we saw a lighter colored sauce, but it was honestly our favorite loco moco we have tasted. Took my out of town family there not once but twice and they loved it! So grateful it passed the test for their yumminess and good customer service overall! My cousin and I met up here for brunch. We were looking for places that were between Tracy and San Jose, and this place was in that midpoint vicinity. Got there around 9:30am. It wasn't busy for a Saturday morning! Lucky! Got a table right away and got in line to order. The pastry display is so tempting! There's also a specials menu right at the register. As if their main menu wasn't already hard to select from lol. We ordered the ube pancakes and ube French toast plus some protein on the side to share. The pancakes came out quick! Denica's one of my favorite brunch spots in the Tri-Valley because I enjoy fusion-style restaurants. It's not a boring American diner for a reason. Service can also be a bit slow when the restaurant during weekends and busy hours, but the staff makes sure to get everything right. Discovered a nice breakfast place in Dublin. Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out and l love finding new places. My buddy recommended this spot and what a great choice. I like its neighborhood vibe and it seems like its frequented by a lot of locals. I was starving an order the Niko's 2 Great Breakfast. I always order a standard entree to gauge the quality of the cooking. I figure if they can get the basics right there's a good chance that other items on the menu will be good. So, eggs over-easy, sausage, bacon, English muffin and lots of black coffee. I love it when the sausages are plumb and the bacon thick. Some places I've tried had small sausage and bacon, which left me wanting more. Thankfully, DRFK was not the case. There were generous servings of everything. Girls brunch at Denica's was a hit! First thing I want to point out is the wooden train set & trains they have for the kids. We sat right infront of this play area so we could catch up on life while watching the kids play. This place is order first & then find a table. The big portion of rice must have been sitting because it had a crust on it, the Asian slaw was green and purple cabbage sliced wide with very little dressing and the veggies weren't cooked enough for me. First time I've had it was in San Diego and this time my son told me to try the one at The best part was the whipped cream. it was more solid than standard whipped cream, which made it good . It is in a strip mall and there was a good amount of parking spots but it was pretty packed. We were there for breakfast. There was a couple of people in front of us. I decided to get them. Next was the Kalua pork hash. Lastly the Lilikoi Supreme Croissant. We got our number and went to a booth in the back. They brought out the Kalua Pork Hash. Wow it was like being in Hawaii actually even better. The pork was so tender and juicy. I was dying. Melt in your mouth. Since we were in the back we could see our Souffle being made. First being cooked on one side then she flipped it in the machine. It came out all fluffy. It was jiggly. SO the only downside is it tasted like they used packaged mix and not their own. The restaurant gave off diner-vibes, with a section of freshly baked goods in a glass display case. Honestly, I don't even know how to categorize the meal we had because it was a fusion but it was really good. We ordered at the register and then took a Number Placard back to the seat we chose to sit at (self-seating). While we were waiting for our food, my friend showed me the salsa bar with complimentary tortilla chips (pretty wild, but it was good!). The food came out within 15-20 minutes of ordering. We got the Ube-Stuffed French Toast and the Kalua Pig Hash. My favorite was the ube-stuffed french toast! The fruits were fresh, the ube filling had a great balance of sweetness that perfectly complimented the fruit and whipped cream. Overall, the toast was thick and fluffy and YUMMY! I would drive all the way back just to have this again! The Kalua Pig Hash was also a great dish. It had potatoes and kalua pork, topped with an egg and your choice of a bread (toasted). We didn't know this, but you may grab menus and a table and order at the front counter when you are ready. We went on a weekend and it was packed but we managed to get there just in time before the crowd came in. Denica's has a large menu and it was honestly quite hard to pick what we wanted. We got a giant cinnamon roll as an appetizer because we were starving, but it was a mistake because it is ginormous! It was $8 but the price reflected the size. We ate half before we decided to stop or else we'll be too full to finish our food. It was really good and I would recommend requesting it to be warmed up or maybe taking it to go instead of eating it first. There is a large variety of pastries and desserts and it looks so yummy! I can imagine that people come in just to get some pastries and leave. We ordered the Nutella Latte, which was delicious! Dark, thick, rich, but not too sweet. Had a nice deep coffee taste. I would absolutely order that again. For the iced banana cream matcha latte, I would skip out on it. The matcha isn't very strong and is quite diluted once you mix it in and tasted quite milky. The banana cream flavor was strong and all I could taste. I requested to change it to coffee and they added it in -- but then it didn't have the strong banana cream flavor. I wouldn't get it again and would recommend trying their other delicious sounding options. Thank you to the staff for being so understanding and trying to make my drink taste good. I got the eggs Benedict which I enjoyed. It was really good and flavorful. I loved that the potatoes were crispy. It did need a little bit of pepper and salt for seasoning, but there was plenty of spices and condiments at the table to use to adjust to taste. The chorizo tostada was also really good! The lady at the register was rude and one of the runners in his haste clipped my shoulder while I was at the salsa bar. He just needs to slow down. 5 stars for Denica's! It's been a go-to brunch spot in the tri-city area whenever we're in the mood for something special. Specialty dishes are around $25 each with generous portions. The French toast Josephine (not pictured) has been a favorite of mine through the years because of the carmelized bananas and we last tried the Kalua Pork Hash (the most juicy pulled pork with sweet sauce) which is now another top item for us. I enjoyed the Spanish Latte and would definitely get that again- but expect a sweet dessert-like latte, but not as rich as Urth's. I'd pass on the ube latte (tasted like melted ube ice cream, we thought there'd be espresso in it), and the ube french toast (soft toast with delicious ube halaya, but didn't enjoy the ube custard. Maybe the ube pancakes would be better. We've also tried the breakfast sandwich which is just okay. Walk in for brunch, grab some complimentary chips and salsa, and enjoy a loaded Asian-inspired brunch menu. read more

I don't like to leave bad reviews.... With that said. I have been eating at Dublin Denica's since 2010. Unfortunately, you are only as good as the last meal you made. Now, I can forgive a mistake here and there but when you do so many things wrong over time it takes a toll. I will not go into detail but someone needs to take a hard look at what is happening starting at the order taking all the way through to the arrival or picking up of the food. This isn't cheap fast food. There is a supposed to be premium to their product at every step and the costs reflect that. So, when there is a flaw in my mind it is glaring and magnified. Long story short. I will continue to be a patron at the Pleasanton location as it seems there is still some of the old Denica's quality control still there. read more

I recently visited Denica's with my parents and grandma for brunch, and it is a cool spot for a family meal. One thing I really liked was the variety on the menu. There are plenty of breakfast and brunch options to choose from, and everything we ordered was delicious. It's also nice to see vegetarian and vegan options available. If you're not looking to sit down, you can also just order a coffee or pastry and be on your way. You don't need to wait super long to have your walk out order finished. The service was great too. Everyone was friendly and attentive. While the prices are a little higher than some other breakfast spots, the quality of the food, welcoming atmosphere, and overall experience made it feel well worth the cost. read more
