April came over as I was getting settled to get my drink order. She helped me decide on something non-caffinated. She answered my questions about the menu and made suggestions. I wish there were a way to rate this TERRIBLE Denny's establishment a 0 out of 5. I also wish I had taken a picture of the food we had received, but it was almost 1 am, and we were just exhausted. Our first mistake was ordering food late at night. However, we were at Dollywood all day and did not have time to stop and eat food. Plus, their food was way overpriced. My boyfriend and I were starving, and it was hard to find a decent place to eat late at night. I saw that Denny's was open 24 hours, and I still have never tried Denny's for the first time yet, so I was somewhat excited. We were so tired that we did not feel like going in and being waited on. Plus, we were on vacation and had to be up early the next day anyway. I did an online pick-up for us, thinking it would be easier. Boy, I was wrong. After placing our order, it said the estimated pick-up time would be between 11:55 pm and 12:00 am. We had just arrived in the parking lot at 11:55 pm. Their website said our order was still being prepared, so we waited. At 12:00am, the website said our order was still being prepared, so we waited some more. Finally, at 12:05 am, I had it, so I told my boyfriend to go inside and see if our food was ready for pick up. He went in, and 5 minutes later, surely enough, he was walking outside with our food. I was so mad because that meant our food was most likely done 10 minutes ago, and it was just sitting there. They didn't dare update their website with our food being prepared to be ready for pick up. We could have waited another hour, and it still would have said on the website that our food was not prepared to be picked up! They had me put in a contact number, too, so they could also text me when the food was ready, but there was legit no sense in that because they never even texted me either that our food was prepared! Overall, Denny's needs to get their pick-up service checked and in control. Ridiculous and so unprofessional! I opened up the bag and our boxes, and right off the bat, we had some issues. First, I ordered the most straightforward thing possible off the menu, which was a Cobb salad, requesting no potato sticks, no cheese, and no tomatoes because I have celiac disease and am lactose intolerant. It's like they did not care about prepping it correctly and just slapped it all on there anyway and shoved it into the bag. Plus, the salad itself looked sad and disgusting. Next, I ordered a side of fries because I was that hungry, and they were soggy and cold. My mistake was not going back inside and telling them I wanted the salad made correctly and piping hot fries. My boyfriend ordered just a plain burger, and by some miracle, they got that correct, but his fries were also cold as a bone. As I said, we could have gone in there and complained and had our food made correctly, but we did not feel like it. We were exhausted at that point and just wanted something good to eat. We drove back to our cabin and just ate our piss-poor food, and I would make a review about it when we got back. Here is the takeaway from this Denny's: if you guys are going to be open 24 hours, that is fine. Still, if your employees can not handle a night service and make food hot and fresh like it would be in the middle of a lunch rush, then maybe you should reconsider being open 24 hours, especially on a busy strip in a touristy area. Second off, food is NOT CHEAP anymore. It is expensive to eat out, and when I splurge to get a nice meal, I expect a nice, hot, and fresh meal, not some cold, piss-poor meal. I will also submit this review to Denny's website, hoping for a refund on our entire meal or at least a free two-person meal for the next time we visit. What is my advice if you are not from the area and are just visiting on vacation? READ THE REVIEWS FIRST, AND DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! read more

Went to breakfast this morning at Denny's Pigeon Forge. It was actually the best we've had all week,better even than the Pancake Pantry. The restaurant was clean and smelled good when we walked in. We were seated promptly, our order taken quickly and accurately by a server named Sara. She was friendly and quick. Our food came out hot, fresh, and cooked to order. Wish I'd asked the cook's name to mention him (or her) here too. The food was great! This restaurant needs a corporate review! I understand that places are short staffed(our waiter was pleasant). This place is very poorly managed. Workers were spread all over the place and the worst part was that the food sat in the window for 14 minutes before being served. I enjoy eating at the Denny's in pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The food is really good. I like the woodsy design of the building and being able to look at the mini waterpark at the hotel next-door. When we checked out we did have trouble keeping the attention of the young man checking us out. We tried to talk to him and he kept turning his head to have conversations with staff . Late night dinner after a show in Gatlinburg on a Sunday left us heading back into PF to find a place to eat at 10:30 on a Sunday night. As with everywhere at the moment they have a staff shortage, and the kitchen seemed to be struggling based on overhearing other diners. Regardless, our waitress was friendly, and our food came out hot and tasty. We ordered the Bourbon burger and the American diner single. Our burgers where juicy, and the buns where slightly sweet. Wow! We were here on a Wednesday night after 11pm and surprisingly a bit busy but the staff was AMAZING! The order came out PERFECT including requesting extra crispy hash-browns, and a few substitutions! The food came out quickly and spot on! The server apologized for being new but Joshua did great like he had been there forever. Manager came by to check on everyone--several tables and everyone seemed very content and pleased. I have never been to a Denny's. I did not know what to expect, but we got in late and wanted a sit down service meal. We had a 20 minute wait when we first came in. They were busy! I noticed a manager hosting, and checking in on his team constantly. He apologized for our wait and thanked us for our patience. Our waitress was Ms. Audrey. She smiled as she approached the table, and apologized for our wait. She asked our drink order, we told her we were ready to order food also. She said perfect what can I get ya. Our food took about 30 minutes, but when it was served it was hot and fresh! Mr. Matt checked us out at the cash register, had a great sense of humor. It is your typical Denny's with questionable cleanliness and the host wasn't exactly the most hospitable or cheerful character they could have hired, but it was the ONLY place in Pigeon Forge that we could find to eat after failing at four other places where people didn't want to work or that simply decided to close while people were waiting and long before their advertised close time. We were finally seated at 12:30am. It was that or some snacks from a gas station. The waitress was very nice and accommodating even though you could tell that she was overworked and underpaid. The food was served in a timely fashion and was quite good. We were so grateful that they wanted to be open and that our waitress wanted to work that I gave her a 100%+ tip as thanks. If you need to find food after 9:00 pm in Pigeon Forge, go see the folks here. It is not anything to write home about, but it is better than having to wait until breakfast. read more

This Dennys is hurting for employees, but you would never know it, except for the wait time. We visited at 2 pm during the week, and our server, the phenomenal Rosie, had been there since 6, and she was the only server for the whole restaurant. Because of this, the sweet hostess was seating tables slowly- having customers wait in the lobby for a short amount of time before seating them, to better help the flow of service. The party that was waiting before us decided not to wait the entire 3 minutes that it would have taken them to get seated- they left with poor attitudes despite their young son saying- it's going to take more time than this to drive somewhere else and wait. Smart words! Rosie handled all of her tables wonderfully, with a smile on her face despite the fact she had to be exhausted- drinks were never empty, our food was delicious, and she offered us to go drinks. This was the best place we ate at during our vacation in Pigeon Forge Tennessee . Excellent wait staff, excellent food and great music. I had a sirloin steak the first night and it was delicious. We had steak at Texas Roadhouse the next afternoon-- and it couldn't compare to Denny's. Breakfast on our last morning there and again delicious pancakes and meal and again excellent wait staff and cooks. Will be back if we come through here again.
