Let me make it clear up front that the reason for 5 stars is because of AMANDA! She says she has worked at Denny's since she was 17 years old and it shows. She had a great attitude, fantastic hustle and clearly knew what she was doing. A true veteran! 2am I get it it's busy but rude is an understatement the guy bald head is beyond disrespectful as a host you all need to replace him if he can't keep up with the friendly vibes needed as a host. Went to order a grand slam that is advertised on their windows, they refused to serve it. False advertising

So I used the online order and curbside delivery service three times. The first time actually went okay and the food was good. So I tried it again. The next time, they brought my order to me without some of my items. So, I went back to the store and picked up my cold food. It wasn't good, but shame on me I suppose for not checking the order when they brought it to me. So I gave them a third chance. Made an online order, went to pick it up. Guy comes out and says -- without any hint of apology -- that they don't have the food I ordered. The food I've already paid for and I even tipped them! Well stuff happens, and none of that is why I'm here on Yelp. I'm here on Yelp because the person at the restaurant told me that I would need my order number in order to "hopefully get a refund". Tell you what, the minute I notify my bank that you've charged my card and then failed to provide the goods, there won't be any "hopefully" to it! But putting the burden on me to contact them in order to demand a refund? That's why I'm here on Yelp, warning others. read more

I usually love this Denny's location. However I stopped here Sunday morning after a concert with two of my friends. We waited ten minutes to be told "someone will be right with you" then waited another five. Put all our to go orders in. I ordered French fries, it took them an hour. Not even joking. Straight up an HOUR to make French fries. When my friend ordered her food she had French fries with her order. An I know it doesn't take an hour to make them. My guess is, the lady cashier forgot my order and then just didn't care? Not sure how it all went down. But they tasted like they were just dunked back into hot oil and served to me. Nothing wrong with that, but if they were just dunked back in then why did I have to wait an hour? I worked as a server/bar tender. I would of totally been fired if I made my customer wait that long. read more

We were seated in a dirty spot. They came to wipe the table but left it wet for us. They gave us napkins to dry the table and seats off ourselves. Never got served. Then an employee parked in a handicap zone (not even a parking spot). I said nope and had to leave. As I walked out I asked if he could move his car since it was in the incorrect spot. I enjoyed my meal and the coffee was fresh. It was just me dining, so my dining experience was nice and prompt. I plan on returning.

THE WORST DENNY'S OFF ALL TIME! I just left after waiting JUST to be seated. 15 MINUTES with no other parties and they need 4 ppl to figure out a register issue. My family and I ended up leaving after getting the "One Sec" 3 times when asked how long was the wait (sarcastically because there was no one else there. 2nd time this has happened at this location. We arrived bout 745pm this place sucks. took my wife and son out for son birthday dinner which was his choice of dennys. we stood about 15 mins before soomeone said ill be right with you. we finally were seated waited another to 10mins recieve our drinks we ordered mazzorela sticks for starter. we waited for 1hr and 23mins ( i timed it using stop watch on cell phone) our waitress never came back and we never recieved our food not even our our starter mazza sticks. we ended up just leaving went and just got fastfood.. horrible as hell. cant post a food pick cuz well ... I am rating this as a Denny's. Not against St. Francis, right across the street. Let's just be clear. It's Denny's/ Make your own breakfast is always a good thing. Choose several off a large list of bacons and fruits, etc. Service was adequate, place is loud, fairly clean, very busy. Food is Denny's. Bill is pretty fair when you get it. I will let you know I was dragged here by an older friend. There are better choices nearby. It's the Ruby Tuesday's of diners....lots of seniors and children. read more

S L O W serve! COLD ... ICE cold food, that should have been hot! NO food brought for the 2 year old... at all. No customer service in "making things right", for the terrible service and inedible food. The girl by the register REFUSED to go get the manager, because the manager was in the kitchen cooking. It was like they have a prearranged set up, that they will NOT go to get the manager. I was astounded at the lack of customer service. I rarely go to Denny's, but as a last resort in the evening. Small Denny's with what you'd expect in food quality. No problems with food, it was good. The real gem here was our waitress Reena. Very bubbly, first time I think I've been to a Denny's where my coffee was always full, she genuinely cares. Ask for seating in her area, you won't regret it. read more

The 1 star rating is a combination of the service, food, and the crew working. I really don't ask for much when I'm a customer at any restaurant. Anyway, we had asked for some coffee and they served us room temp coffee. We asked for another pour of coffee and the lady came back saying this is a hot and fresh pour. But once again we were served room temp coffee (you'll see the picture). The food took more than 25 minutes to be served even though inside the restaurant there weren't that many people. And to top it off the service we received was bad. They weren't attentive as we had to wave down different employees for simple requests ie coffee, to go box, napkins etc. However, I will admit once the food was brought to us, it was hot and edible, thus why it gets the 1 star. I was about ready to walk out if I had to wait one minute longer! Never coming back here again or to any big chain restaurant. This is why I support local! read more

They seated us, then never came back to serve drinks or take our order. Finally I got up and told them we were ready to order. We asked for no ice, and they put ice in the drink. We really do live in a world that has absolutely no issue wasting your time and talent. To all my friends who are police officers I apologize for our society's inability to contain the knowledge of knowing when you should be called upon. A manager at Dennys just summoned the police on me to have me removed from the establishment. My cousins are in town from California and after an eventful fun night of dancing we worked up an appetite. After waiting for over 30 minutes while others who showed up after us were seated she offered us seating but we would not be able to sit together as a family. Of course we declined, what's the point if we cannot eat together as a family. As I looked around I noticed an empty table, another table with 3 customers seated and an empty booth across from them. I know you can already see my logic, if the patrons eating at the table would be willing to relocate to the booth we would all be able to sit together. I walked over and introduced myself, made small talk to ensure they were friendly and discovered they had just sat down and not even ordered drinks yet. I explained to them the situation and they happily agreed to sit at the booth stating they actually wanted a booth in the first place. The manger then came over to inform me I was being disrespectful and mean by asking them to move. I told her I would agree if they felt I was overstepping my boundaries and asked her to ask them how they felt. She did and they all said they were okay and preferred a booth. The manager then said she was calling and getting the on site police officer. For what? She repeats I'm being mean. I explain I'm a solution oriented person and see an easy way to meet both parties needs. She then states she doesn't have enough servers to serve us. I now have more questions. If we did separate our party and 4 of us sat a booth and 2 of us at the table are we still not utilizing the same group of servers? She's stumped now and promptly leaves to get the police officer. People these are the situations that law enforcement should not be dealing with. the request, idea and coordination is logical and reasonable. Why escalate? read more

Came after a night of drinking. One in our party called this "the gay Denny's" and wanted to go somewhere else. After busting his balls, he insisted that he wasn't making it up, and when we walked in, we quickly saw that the name was well deserved. Not a problem for me, but I found it humorous that he ended up being right after we ribbed him over it. If you are a bigot, this probably isn't the Denny's for you. Police officer on premises ruining the vibe. It's Denny's. Everything was as it should be, I suppose. There was a little bit of a wait to get seated. That's annoying. Also the entrance vs the parking lot setup is annoying. Several guys at the table and one check brought. Gave the waitress back the check, a bunch of cash (most of the tab's worth), and a debit card. I.E. "put the cash towards the tab and the rest on the card." Waitress quickly said "thanks" and pocketed the cash and then with the card said "no I can't because he's here (pointed towards officer)" then something about signing. She then handed back tab and card and quickly left. This caused some confusion amongst our group. Once we figured out what had happened, homie with the card said not to make a big stink because of the cop, he just paid the full tab. So basically we got finessed. Good for the waitress I guess. Let's get real about Denny's. It's a diner that's inexpensive and fast. This Denny's is the Denny's of Denny's in my opinion and it is because of the servers. They are amazing. Some of them have been there for a very long time and let's face it - we as customers suck, people. For the most part. I've been a server. This Denny's was remodeled to its cute inside. It's not gigantic. There is sometimes a wait because of location, but the bar is the secret. No wait there most times I go. And I go Sunday mornings when it's crowded. The church crowd has just let out. Bless these servers and this Denny's will always get five stars from me. Fast, friendly, clean as can be with the turn over, and consistently good food. We call this Gay Denny's or Jenny's. It's really like any other Denny's. There's no reason for you to drive to this one because it makes more sense to go to the one in your neighborhood. Usually, we go to this one when there's an event in Downtown Phoenix. It's nearby. Other reasons that I go? My friends are poor and Denny's open late. The most inhospitable Denny's ever! A party of 4 in an empty restaurant and I'm still waiting on a refill let alone a courtesy, "how's everything going guys?" The food was good. However in a restaurant it's the staff that makes the experience and the level of attentiveness leaves something to be desired. I understand it's Covid But when I'm asking for silverware and syrup for my pancakes it just feels like no one cares. It's Denny's so if you want a quick bite the food is ok and at least fresh. But don't expect anything unless your asking for it repeatedly. The behavior is learned from management. A young girl who really treats her guest as a bother. Hopefully when you visit she's in a better mood and encourages her staff to treat people better. read more

Update: Making this a 3.5 : / I forgot that they up-sell you for cheese on your hash browns, and they also not include bread with your meal, so when they offer and you select something, you get an additional charge. I am all OK for that if they bring it to your attention upfront, but even if it is a small fee I don't think it is cool... Went here for breakfast Saturday morning after dropping a car for service at one of the dealers nearby. We were promptly seated and our server Jazmin was outstanding! she was very cheerful and seemed to have a great attitude. In the service industry it makes a huge difference when people do their job giving you the feeling that they are happy to be there, and that you are there... that is how we felt. She was very accommodating and answered all our questions. Hubby had the Santa Fe skillet, that actually comes in a sizzling skillet! what a concept, haha (our other breakfast places we frequent just serve them in a skillet shaped dish)... Daughter had some burrito with bacon and avocado and she liked it very much. I got the veggie omelette (I never go with only veggies) and it was really good. Plenty of veggies, fluffy omelette, very tasty. Hubby had diet Coke, daughter and I had the pumpkin coffee, which is really good but it was too sweet for me, Jazmin helped out so it would not be as sweet. Great experience.
