My son and I went to the Denny's on 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Rd early this morning only to receive the worst service ever. The girl who was waiting on us had a extremely condescending attitude. Also when we were seated the dining area was very dirty. We placed our order. and we could overhear her complaining about her guests while she was in the kitchen. Then she would come out of the kitchen with a fake attitude. My son ordered a steak and she didn't bring or offer steak sauce. And a steak knife. He wanted a chocolate shake and in a condescending manner said the shake machine was broken. We knew she didn't want to do it. When I went to pay for our food she was so rude to me. We still left her a tip. I don't think we will return. We work extremely hard at our jobs and just wanted a great experience and good food. She needs to be fired. read more

i came in by myself for my birthday and the waitress stopped by with my water. i inquired about the free grand slam for bdays and she told me that they don't really do that, all they do is a discount through the app. so she left to give me some time to navigate the app but left me for about 30 minutes, completely ignored me, chatted with coworkers, and helped every other one of her tables. even took a couple guests orders who had arrived long after me. i finally got so fed up with being blatantly ignored and was so hungry that i went somewhere else. really don't celebrate my birthdays, so i really didn't appreciate this treatment. won't ever be back read more

Early yesterday morning, I had a craving for Denny's. I know. I know, but there isn't much that's open all night nowadays. I ordered on the Dennys site and was on my way. As I drove, I thought to myself, this had better be amazing for the $30 sum bucks it cost. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with cheese hashbrowns and a side of cinnamon roll pancakes. OVER 30 BUCKS. When I arrived, I was told by the zombie waiter, gonna be a few more minutes. I gave the empty pla e a good look and it was pretty clean and looking at the cook felt good about eating the food. But the zombie, I could have done it without. He kept himself busy doing nothing to avoid having to talk to me. Busy touching a rag, his face, the rag again, his hair, then the face and neck. I wasn't ok with his touching, but I knew the cook would container my food, and the zombie would just have to fill the bag after topping the cakes. I'd expect a bit more of a smile seeing that handing me my bag got him 15%, NOPE. NO SMILE, NO THANK YOU. When I got home, I unpacked the food. Sandwich and hasbrowns were good a little too much grease but good. Anything at this point would only have been good, I was saving my enthusiasm for those cinnamon roll pancakes. Now, I was the one without a smile and only a zombie stare. NO FROSTING, NO BUTTER, NO SYRUP, for my cakes. Everything that makes cakes great was left off by the zombie that couldn't..YOU HAD ONE JOB, zombie. I will recommend this Dennys, the cook did a great job. But avoid the graveyard shift. Day after update: I'm going to leave the original review here but I wanted to update because of Rex. The manager got on a call with me and he knew exactly who it was without me saying and that tells me most of the employees don't act this way. He offered to have my family come in and have a meal on him which is really nice and he was great and apologetic with the situation. We will be going in to give this another shot because of the manager. Thanks for reaching out Rex. Original post: We ordered door dash and our dasher stood in the lobby for 40 mins waiting for the order. I called the store and the guy who answered was super rude and when I asked if he knew of a time frame at all on the order he said "well I'm dealing with customers that are actually in front of me and now I'm wasting time dealing with you on the phone instead so you have a good night" and then hung up on me. Never once asked for my name for the order and flat out refused to go check on it. He literally said there was no one assigned to bagging to go orders and someone would get to it when they get to it. I get having no staff but don't be rude to customers when I wasn't rude to you. It's for the record we ordered at 1am and it's 2:30 now and the dasher still is waiting in the lobby as I'm writing this. Even the poor dasher who's at no fault is texting us apologizing. Update: 2 dashers canceled because they waited for longer than 30 mins each and the 3rd dasher was there for 20 mins before we called door dash and canceled. read more

I arrived on a Saturday just before noon. The place was packed. At first, I considered leaving and coming back another time. But as I waited, I observed some amazing teamwork. I couldn't tell who was the busses, the server or the manager. It didn't matter. Everyone pitched in where needed. Within minutes, tables were cleaned and set and I was seated. I was handed the menu and was assured that my server would be right with me. In less than one minute, Mika came over and took my order. This restaurant had customers at every table, booth and at the counter. But Mika took the time FOR ME. She was cool and composed. She didn't seem rushed at all. As she brought my Dr. Pepper, she said my food would be coming right up. And it did. Another promise fulfilled. My food arrived exactly how I ordered it - I asked for extra-crispy hash browns and they were perfect. Mika also checked back periodically, bringing more Dr. Pepper without even asking! So to recap, the wait time at a popular, crowded restaurant was minimal. Every promise was fulfilled. The food was hot and delicious and exactly what I wanted. And Mika was a wonderful server. I didn't touch my food, my kid didn't like his food. I ordered the wrong menu item that didn't come with pancakes, waiter could not bother to charge me for the correct menu item for an additional $2 but would only allow me to buy a side of pancakes for $6. On top of that, my son and I didn't eat any of our food and there was no bother to make any sort of effort to satisfy our issues. New waiter I could tell, but they should know if they don't know something they can ask their manager or a co worker for help. Been coming here for 3 years now and the last few experiences have gone downhill. Honestly what can I expect though, it's just Dennys. But I have been to the surrounding Dennys and have had much better service if that helps. read more

My boyfriend and I were at this location and absolutely loved it. Carlos was the very best, especially for his first day. He kept my boyfriends drink filled even when he wasn't fully done. He also made conversation and made us feel welcome. If he is your waiter, just know you will be in for the best. Not a lot of places have these types of people serving. Well the reviews on IHOP in the area of downtown Phoenix were rated at 2's . I was like, "hell no ". So, we took a chance on The Camelback/7th street Dennys . As we looked it up on yelp, it's rating were at 4's with great reviews! There was one review that had me sold to go there. The review was about a girl name " Amanda " . She had great service , fast, friendly and always made sure you, the "customer" was happy with their visit! Well long story short ... lol Amanda wasn't working at our time of visit. So I was unsure ‍. BUT the waiter was good with timing seating us, AND then we got our waitress. RAVEN YOU WERE THE BEST! What a shithole!!! Went to the one on Cactus and Cave Creek, had a craving for a moons over my hammy. They closed an hour early, gotta love that customer service, great way to start dinner time. Still had my craving, so I headed to the one on Bell and 32nd st, it's 24 hours so hopefully they didn't close early too. I called 3 times on my way from one to the other, hoping to get my order in or even see if they are open. NO ANSWER FOR ALL 3 CALLS!!! Again, awesome customer service!!! I finally get there and I still ask myself why I stayed.... but that damn craving. It took them 35 minutes to get my order up! It wasn't busy, but they only had one cook working. Again, great customer service!!! Then I get home with my moons over my hammy, the night is going to be salvaged. NOPE, I WAS GIVEN EGGS ON TOAST!!!! NO CHEESE, NO HAM, NO CHEESE ON MY HASHBROWNS AS ORDERED!!!! This company fuckin sucks and needs to go out of business!!! The health codes I saw violated by the servers as I stood there for 35 minutes is mind blowing. Probably make the normal person sick!!! Thankfully they did not touch my stuff. Walked in around dinner hour. So I assumed It would Be chaotic. Say myself and within 2 minutes I was greeted and attended to. I knew my order so it was quick and easy. My order was a bit customized so not always the best option from s server standpoint. But she killed it. Greeted every person that walked in. Kept herself. Busy but I never had to wait long for my order. Water case right away. And my all you can eat pancakes came out shortly after. If you stop in this location, sit back relax and enjoy your Denny's experience. She's got you. Victoria you are awesome at your job. They've got a gem! Dining room was spotless. About 6 different tables 4 or more. And they were just waiting for things to do. This was my second time here and the second time the service has blown me away. The kitchen staff is on point too. My uncle may aunt and I went to eat there last Friday morning. We all ordered the waitress brought me and my Aunts plate but when she brought my uncles which he ordered the lumber jack and side of biscuits and gravy the waitress brought one plate at a time, it was cold, hardly any gravy, and the portion he got was very little of everything he ordered three eggs he got one. My Aunt and Uncle have going to that dennys since they opened at least twice a week and what I'm complaining about seems little until the waitress brought the manager over. I come from a time where the manager walks shakes hands and asks what can he do, not this manager he walked up had a smirk on his face my uncle told him the problem and started handing him plates to take back he sir does it look like I can take anymore he then took the plates back that was it no asking what can he do and no apologies. That is my biggest complaint and the waitress she did not say one word those two were terrible And the worse part was when they were walking to kitchen I seen them roll their eyes and chuckle. Shortly after that another customer came to our table because she seen what happened she told us that the same thing happened to some other people and the manager did not have kind or apologies for them either. My uncle had no compensation and ended up paying for all of us. He didn't even eat. The manager seems to have a bad pattern when it comes to customer service. I Stopped randomly at this Dennys location due to not eating all day, do to being soo busy & grabbed a meal. I will definitely return. Gina "server" had a full restaurant & was running the show all by herself as if she had 6 people helping.. she is amazing at her job. Dang... I came in to treat myself to a birthday meal. I ordered my eggs over medium. The first plate came out and the yolk was completely runny, and barely cooked. I politely asked the waitress to correct the eggs, and since I'd cut the egg open on top of my pancakes, I asked to replace those too. She was courteous, and took the plate back. My second serving was sadly not much better. Again, the yolk was verrry runny (See attached photos of each plate). Now I understand that this is already a free birthday meal, but one would expect a seasoned diner cook to understand OVER EASY. I spoke to the waitress again, stating they were just too runny. She offered the manager would cook them herself, so I agreed to allow a third try.. What I received was basically hard boiled eggs. Wow. Just freakin wow. Perhaps y'all might think of sending your cooks to basic culinary school. This particular Denny's is nostalgic to me, however I highly doubt I'll return... Not even for a 'free' meal.. read more

Can't believe this place only has 3 stars! The service and food was absolutely top tier! Me and my girlfriend absolutely tore up our french toast and burger (and in the bathroom... sorry guys ) The lady that served us was extremely amazing in every way. Plus! Great scenery in the parking lot... beautiful mural!!!! The bathroom did not have any paper towels left, but that's not enough to make them four stars. The soap smelled just like the soap they used at my elementary school... so nostalgic Overall in conclusion this place is fine dining in an essence and deserves nothing less than 5 stars. read more
