And the 30 min we sat at the bar top we watched the young gentleman cook never change his gloves one time after going into the fridge multiple times grabbing raw bacon and sausage. Waffle House has over 2000 restaurants... I haven't been to all but I've been to a lot over the years!!! When I go, I'm always expecting consistency with my food as I order 'the exact same thing'... Yes, I get the 'All-Star Special with my waffle cooked well, eggs scrambled with cheese, white toast buttered, sausage patties, and my grits in a bowl & extra butter' When my waffle came out, I was like 'What is this'.... I had to search online to find out if there had been a waffle iron change because the waffle I got was horrible!!!! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!! Now whenever I go to Waffle House, I've got to inquire if they have changed/updated the waffle iron or not. Better yet my question is, do you still cook with the classic waffle iron?? Sunday at 12:20pm. Is was dirty as could be. Where we sat, full view of kitchen, food on floor, employees just walked on it. Overflowed trash can food all around it on floor. Seriously lost our appetite. Menus felt disgusting, not wiped down. They could use an employee just to maintain a level of cleanliness 24/7. Every Waffle House is tiny. Seats maybe 50 people in total. Our server greeted us and obtained our drink order. By the time she returned, we had our order ready. The All-Star is the way to go. 2 eggs, hash browns or grits, choice of bacon, sausage or ham, choice of toast, drink, AND a waffle for around $17.00. Food came within 10 minutes and was served hot. 1 star only because of the experience I had and this is normally my go to Waffle House, I'll just take an extra 5 minutes and go to the deer valley one. The ladies who have been at this location for a while are amazing. Great service and always very welcoming. The new female server from 11/12 was just flat out rude, did not smile ONCE, and was serving me like she hated her job. Not to mention there was obvious tension between some of the servers because of the obvious attitude she had. It made me uncomfortable. I literally sat and stared at my food for a few good minutes while my server was in the back, looking at her coworkers through the little door window. So awkward. Someone else handed me my food so it wouldn't be cold. I asked for just cheese on my hashbrowns; then ended up having to sift through the onions they added. Didn't feel like asking her to get me a new one cause all of it was already getting ridiculous. But, To add to all of this, another server said she hopes she makes good money on her shift and my server YELLED OUT, and I mean YELLED OUT, "yeah and LETS HOPE ITS CASH ONLY!!!" While myself and others were seated. That is so wrong. I get it; it's Waffle House, but does it have to be ghetto though ? Come on. I'm a fan of Waffle House but issue with seating. I walk with cane and advised when I entered I need low table with chairs no booth. Several openings happen booth & 2 portions of the tables. Instead of sitting 2 gentlemen in booth and sitting me at table she sits them at table and offers me the booth. Resulted in over 45 minutes I waited lazy Saturday and I'm just wanting to chill. I get my go to pecan waffle and chicken sandwich plate. I send lettuce back as it is dirty and has garden critters hasn't been washed. She goes gets a fresh pack of lettuce watch her open it and not wash it pull leaves off & yep you got nice dirty soil at the bottom. So maybe this is how it works in their home but I grew up and currently garden if it comes home or in a restaurant you wash vegetables but not at this Waffle House. Welcome to a new world of no home training. While they were nice this is my only reason for 2 stars. Yeah I won't be back and praying on going to any other locations. Went yestarday not friendly staff the lady told me when i ask fir a to go order that togos are more expensive . Wonder why? Then i pay $15 for a chicken sandwichextra small and they pack my sandwich in foild to go then my pecan waffle order was wrong and i have to wait extra 5 to 10 min to get it right everything in the restaurant was dirty tables. The staff were so nice, especially Ivana. She made us feel so welcome even tho we were tourists. This gave "home made breakfast" to a T, and if I needed a basic breakfast meal I would come again. We came for breakfast while in town for the World Baseball Classic. My 23 year old son had never been to a Waffle House before. And I've been 3 times in 3 different states and all three Waffle Houses look alike. When we walked in, every table was taken and there aren't that many tables. We took seats at the counter. We had a front row view of how a Waffle House works. Their menu is small but no matter what you order, you need to order a waffle. It's not fancy or Belgian but it's a good waffle. They make them to order so they are always fresh. The hash browns are also very good and served extra crispy. Service was fast and friendly. read more

We ate here this evening and we couldn't ask for a better service, our waitress Tiana was excellent, the cook was exceptional. One of the hardest things to cook are eggs, and he crushed it. After a scary experience at another location and surprisingly prompt follow up communication from a district manager I went to this location last night per his recommendation. It was an interesting and telling experience. Went on the late side again, 10pm, and saw employees working hard and doing their best to kindly deal with a small woman who was behaving oddly and likely on drugs. They did their best to get her to go order and communicate with her as her behavior became increasingly irrational. After she left I spoke with a manager who ended up being the rep I had spoken to, and was impressed he was going to various locations to check in on stuff. It's an extra challenging economic climate right now and not easy to maintain a 24 hour restaurant! Want to give kudos to the efforts being made to rectify stuff and move forward. And shout out to Mr. Kyle and proactive and warm new employee Cash. She has a fantastic attitude and is a great asset to the organization, happy to return any time she is on deck! read more

I asked if they could cook my meal separately for a gluten allergy and they happily obliged. Plus, I didn't get any noticeable reactions! Got the hashbrown bowl with sausage and egg, with no cheese and it was delicious! They really nailed the texture of the hash browns and for the price it's unbeatable. We were seated and served relatively quickly even though they were busy. The ambiance felt very retro and had all the comforts of an old American diner. My good friend always raves about this place when he comes to visit so the next time he came to visit Phoenix with his wife, we just had to go. I have never been to a Waffle House before so I was a little skeptical. Checking out the pictures on yelp, presentation was not at its greatest so wasn't that excited. The restaurant is like a mom and pop Denny's. I ordered the two egg platter with bacon, hashbrowns with cheese. The cheese on the hashbrowns were literally the Kraft cheese you get at the grocery store. Ok, can this place really be good? Once we get the food, I literally ate everything on my plate. I also tried a waffle sharing with a friend and although soft (not crunchy), it wasn't bad. This four star rating actually is because a week or so later after eating here, I've been craving the food here. How surprising and weird is that? So, I guess my friend was right. The first time I tried waffle house was in Tallahassee Florida. What I love about these restaurants is that everybody is communicating and working extremely efficient. Each cook has their own task (one person on eggs, one person on bacon, waffles etc) so the orders come out extremely fast and accurate. The waffle house locations in Arizona don't seem to get as loud which is OK, but I definitely like the chaos a little bit as well. The staff were very friendly and the tables were quickly cleaned so that people kept getting seated and served. What I really like about this location is that while you are in the waiting area we will actually offered to take your order so you can give me a ticket to your server when you sit down. This means that as soon as you sit down your food is starting to cook. I also like that you can add a bunch of different toppings to your hashbrowns for only $.40 each!! The hashbrowns came out perfect and were crispy just like I asked. Special requests are also not a problem for them. I recommend trying the pecan waffle or the chocolate chip waffle. I have never had lunch or dinner at WH but I have had breakfast at least 100 times. This place is crazy busy and the food is super yummy. The employees kind of almost speak a different language. We dined at this restaurant this morning. It was busy and we had to wait about 15 minutes before we were seated. My wife ordered the All Star breakfast which was 2 eggs, choice of bacon, sausage or ham, hash browns, toast and a waffle. The best things about Waffle House are the many toppings available for the hash browns like onions, mushrooms, cheese, jalapenos, etc. and then for the waffles, there are choices of plain, pecans, chocolate chips and peanut butter. She chose the onions, mushrooms and cheese for her hashbrowns and pecans for her waffle and bacon for the meat and raisin bread for the toast. I also chose the All Star breakfast and duplicated her order with the exception of adding jalapenos to the hashbrowns and I ordered a meat item that is not on the menu. For whatever reason, pork chops used to be on the menu, but is no longer listed. But, they continue to be available off-menu at an additional charge. As always, both of our meals were great! Yes, we have had better waffles elsewhere, but they are still good! The women's restroom was okay, but the men's restroom was lacking. The paper towel dispenser was empty and the wall mount hand blow dryer was inoperative. All in all, good food and food service! We will continue to patronize Waffle House in the future. read more

It's Waffle House... sometimes you crave it and you just need it. It's certainly nothing fancy but it's solid if you want some diner food. This WH is a pretty decent location, the staff are friendly and it's consistent. I hadn't been here in awhile so we decided to make the trip around 5:30pm on a Friday evening. Considering most see this as only a breakfast or late night food stop, it was pretty empty. After grabbing a booth we placed our order quickly: a double waffle, a chocolate chip waffle, and a bacon cheeseburger deluxe. I'm a big fan of the waffles but honestly they make a mean burger too!!! Their breakfast sandwiches and hash browns are bomb too but for my first Waffle House burger I was pretty dang impressed. The waffles were great as usual. I like that they are thinner but still fluffy and tasty. There's something about a Waffle House that always feels kind of "sticky" even if you don't have spilled syrup on your table. It's not chef Hollywood 5 star material it's more like a good hearty mom breakfast . The waffle is a go to . Plain waffle .. also the coffee is a good roast the bacon comes nice and crispy the only downside is that the potatoes are a little soggy inside but the waffles so good I can deal with it and the pricing is very affordable. Waffle House is for consistently quick and tasty, affordable breakfasts with a flare for some of that Southern hospitality. Ambiance is very casual. I've only tried their breakfasts so far. On a rare occasion that there is a quiet crowd (apparently 2pm is a quiet crowd) service is still attentive. It's always a stop or two whenever we pass through any state that has their restaurants. This location, like most of the others I've visited, are just some of the nicest service staff I've ever met! The guys here were just so attentive and professional too.
