Paper towel is stuck in the restroom
Anna P.

Honestly, this place managed to fail on every single level -- hair in the food, a forgotten order, an extra item on the bill, and not even a single piece of paper in the restroom. I don't even know where they didn't mess up. But let me start from the beginning. We were on our way to Lake Powell, and this spot seemed perfect on our route. Our group had 8 people. My friend ordered a mango smoothie and found a hair in it. She asked for a replacement and specifically requested a strawberry-banana one so they wouldn't just pull the hair out and bring the same glass back. Guess what -- both smoothies ended up on the bill. Then came another issue with her mom's order. Everyone got their food except her. When we asked, it was clear from the waiter's face that he had simply forgotten it. Instead of checking if we still wanted it (since she already snacked on some fries from our friends), they made us wait another 30 minutes and then handed it to us in a to-go box. Of course, that dish was also charged on the bill. As for the food itself -- my smoothie was basically flavored ice with zero actual taste, and my boyfriend's chicken dish was dry. Even the bathroom was a disaster -- there is no toilet paper, no paper towels, nothing. Avoid this place if you can.

Loaded Veggie Omelette

Not many choices in this small town, so we settled here for a quick brunch prior to our long drive. We came here on a Wednesday around noon, and the place wasn't busy. The service was good, just a little slow. We weren't expecting much going to a chain. The Santa Fe skillet was alright, the chorizo was too salty, and it was mostly potatoes, with less veggies and a small portion. However, the loaded veggie omelet was great, full of veggies and an adequate portion. The price is a little expensive. $50 for 2 breakfasts, a side of bacon, and 2 coffees, and that's without a tip.

Service- 6:30a was polite , attentive. Food- nothing to knock your socks off but it filled a spot for a simple breakfast which is still better than hotel breakfast food, hence why we came here so we can hit the road sooner. View- can't beat it looking over the valley and dam.

The worst Denny's I have ever been to. Not that I have high standards for Denny's but still.. We went in well after dinner time so the restaurant was relatively empty. After waiting for a while to be seated, we got seated on a table that has not been wiped. The table was dirty and the seats were dirty. I had to look for the server to ask for napkins to wipe the table and seats ourselves. Even the silverware did not seem clean. Slow service: The appetizer took about 25mins and the other dishes took even longer. Food was bland overall The restroom was horrendous.. not sure when was the last time they cleaned + extremely stinky. The restaurant can use a deep clean

Zero stars if i could for service....came in for a really late dinner on a road trip. server was suppper slow getting our order, and even slowwwwer putting the order into the computer. drinks were empty for over 30 min. our orders were correct, looked and tasted good, but cold. Definitely read the reviews, and expect a long wait!! we had a 2.5 hour experience. the restaurant looked clean, but smelly restrooms. they do have lots of big rig parking though!!

Restroom

It's Dennys. Don't expect much. We came after a long day in the bend around 10pm. Took them 55minutes to get our food out and they messed up on half our order. Everything was wayyyy too salty even for Denny's. Pancakes are probably the safest bet here but they even forgot the toppings on our pancakes. The waiter was ok and the bathrooms smelled bad. They have new menus, those were nice.

OK, so this one's a bit of a mixed review. We're tourists in town seeing the sites, and we stopped…read moreby here to have dinner. We had all been wanting steak, and this place seemed to have good yelp reviews, indicating it was a good steakhouse in town. However, when we sat down and saw the menu prices, which were much higher than had been listed online in pictures, most of the family changed their mind. They had a New York strip option (striploin) a $45 in the ribeye at $46. My wife had the country fried steak, which she said was good or equal to Cracker Barrel's. My son had the barbecue burger which he enjoyed, and my youngest daughter had the kids meal cheese burger sliders, which she liked a lot. For my part, I had a ribeye, which at $46 was a little bit steep. Having said that, if it is an excellent steak, I have no problem paying that price. However, this wasn't an excellent steak. The steak was cooked order, and that in itself was pretty epic as the steak was really paper thin and mostly fat. I'm amazed that you could make a steak that thin, medium rare (I really ordered rare, but I had seen some reviews stating to order it Rare, if you wanted, medium rare). My two issues were the steak were the thickness and the amount of fat on it. I'm not talking about marbling fat that makes a good ribeye, I'm talking about the big chunks of pure fat that most people don't eat. I've never actually seen a ribeye that had as much non-marbled fat on it, as this one did. I'd estimate that approximately 40% of the ribeye was fat. The overall flavor was fairly good, just not worth the price. This is not a steak that I would expect at a a steakhouse, this is a steak that I would more I would expect at a Cracker Barrel or a Denny's. I'd say that was pretty much overall the experience, decently good food, but definitely not worth the price. If our overall ticket had been about half the price to 2/3 of the price, I'd give this place a 4 stars. Add the current meal prices, it really sits at about a 2 1/2 star experience. The service was somewhat difficult to rate, as we had a very nice waitress who was obviously overworked and handling too much, as it took an hour to get our food(also two parties our size who came in the same time or after us, got their food significantly before us)but she was very attentive to us when she had the ability to come over. We did visualize her running around the whole restaurant, so any lapse in service really definitely wasn't her fault.

Drove from CA to AZ and managed to sneak in before they closed the doors. Since we were at the tail…read moreend of the dinner service took a bit to get seated but once the waitress swung by she took our orders quickly and food came out promptly. I ordered the ribeye, buddy ordered the fish and chips, and son ordered the macc & cheese. Ribeye was cooked to order (medium rare) but green beans were so so for me (lots of garlic, julienne cut), onions / mushroom sauce paired with the mashed potatoes and gravy were fine but a bit much with the ribeye for my tastes. Buddy said fish and chips were good, son thought Mac and cheese were fine.

Have you ever heard of Navajo fry bread? Basically, it's a really simple mix of flour, sugar, salt…read moreand lard that's deep-fried and topped with all manner of sweet and/or savory ingredients. Created around 1864 by the Navajo people using the meager ingredients given to them by the US Government at the time. The bread quickly spread to other tribes throughout the country, and is usually just referred to as "fry bread," but in AZ it's always preceded by the prefix "Navajo." My first encounter with it was in a church parking lot at San Xavier del Bac (aka The White Dove of the Desert), where Native Americans had food stands selling fresh fry bread topped with honey and cinnamon-sugar, as well as savoury toppings like ground beef, lettuce and tomatoes in what's popularly referred to as a Navajo Taco. Fast forward to our recent trip to Page, and we stopped into a little restaurant called Steer 89. It came recommended by a local--and I always take local recs seriously. While perusing the menu they had an item called a Navajo Burger ($15) and my curiosity was piqued. Essentially it's a giant hamburger sandwiched between two fry bread "buns," and I really have to say it was easily the most unique thing I've had all year. The burger itself was terrific, as it was seasoned well, had good beefy flavor and cooked expertly. And it was "run through the garden" with all the veggie accoutrements I demand. The hand-cut fries were also a treasure to behold and were everything a fry should be: fluffy, yet crisp and just a bit overly-salted. Of course, we had to get a Navajo Taco ($12), as well, and it too lived up to the hype of the originals I'd had in that church parking lot. While it was nothing fancy, this was probably one of my favorite meals we had on our recent trip and definitely worthy of multiple repeat visits next time we're in the area.

My friend and I came here and we mostly came for the Navajo Tacos. I also ordered the burger, but…read morethat was a mistake as that was not all that good at all, and was much smaller and more depressing looking compared to the Navajo taco. The navajo taco is basically a piece of the navajo bread, which is a thicker, chewier, airier flatbread topped with taco toppings you'd expect from a taco bell, things like shredded lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, onions and chili. The navajo taco was pretty good if you came in expecting that. It is pretty much an american taco with navajo bread. Overall not an interesting find, but nothing too spectacular or mind blowing.

We went on a Friday at lunch in March. We had also been there a few weeks before…read more I don't usually leave 5 start reviews, but this restaurant deserves a needle-moving review and I can't think of one thing we didn't like. We shared calamari and we are calamari snobs. I wasn't expecting anything great but it really, really was. The crunchy (fresh?) batter was cooked perfectly crispy and the squid meat was not tough. They served it on top of sliced pepperocini, which we kept using throughout the meal. The sauce was delicious too. Now any chef/cook can have an off day, but if the oil is the right temp and they stick to a prescribed fry time, you should experience the same great result. My husband had the Reuben, and he is a Reuben snob. The thickly julienned corned beef made for a little bit of messy eating, but he said it was good. His sweet potato waffle fries were crisp and not too sweet. They stayed crisp throughout the meal. I believe these were frozen but they chose a great product to offer for one of their sides. No shame in a good, coated, crisp, frozen sweet potato waffle fry. I had the desert dipper (French dip to many of us.) It was topped with sauteed mushrooms and onions and the aus jus was really delicious. Not too salty and with a rich flavor without being oily. Again, a product which I would be shocked it if wasn't purchased, but they made a great choice! It doesn't rely on salt, which many chefs turn to to cover less-than-stellar food. My side was a side salad. Mixed mesclun lettuces (with the occasional wilted, icky looking leafs) that made either this batch of lettuce one day past it's prime or needed to be gone through a little closer. The salad was topped with a generous portion of very fresh cucumbers, carrot shreds, cherry tomatoes, cheese and croutons. I was pleased with the overall quality and presentation of that simple side salad. In our previous trip my husband had the quite-curated turkey sandwich and he said it was very good. I just had the truffle Parmesan fries which, like the waffle fries, were crispy and very good

A floating restaurant on the second largest man-made lake in America???…read more Yes, please. Incredible ambience, starting with parking up top and being driven down in one of the many motorized carts they have running 24/7. The views are breathtaking!!! But the important part that we need to get to-food and service. We went twice. Each time, great servers! Ruby and Autumn were attentive without being overbearing. Our food came out quickly. Night one, we had the flank steak with some fancy espresso cheese and hot honey, gyros, and the sliders. Second visit for lunch, we had the fish tacos, a Caesar salad with steak, and (my favorite!!!) the blackberry steak salad with goat cheese and all kinds of deliciousness. There were things that I would probably take a star off for--but not from the restaurant. The restrooms are outside the restaurant, and for a place that's pretty dang high end, one would expect that they would have been cleaned at least once during the day and toilet paper refilled instead of sitting in the stall on the floor (first visit) or stuffed in with the toilet seat covers (second visit). I did ask about it, and apparently there is a cleaning crew that takes care of that and they aren't affiliated with the restaurant at all--so definitely not going to hold it against the restaurant! Go. Get some of Jaden's specialty cocktails and that blackberry steak salad. Then take a boat tour of the lake and enjoy some incredible views. You won't regret it!!!

Went inside and to the bar where we were acknowledged by "looking for the menu, it's up above" and sure enough it is affixed to the wall above the bar. I gave my order to the husband while I went to the lady's restroom. The lady's restroom was clean and orderly with 2 stalls and sufficient supplies. Husband says the same or similar regarding the men's room. Came back and went to the table the husband had picked out. I went over and then veered to the condiments bar. Picked up napkins, plastic silverware, mayo and mustard. Husband had ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries for him and a salad plus chicken for me. Each agreed to glasses of water. Husband said the fella behind the bar was a nice young guy. Visited just a bit, then the food was brought to us. The burger looked good as well as the fries. Not sure if the husband didn't want catsup or if it wasn't available. The salad was filling and good with lettuce, a small bit of diced red onion, quite a bit of diced celery, and some tomato atop a bed of ribbon sliced lettuce. We ate and looked around, we couldn't see the chef and the bartender had gone to deliver drinks to a people on the outdoor deck. Oddities: 2 salad dressings avail: Ranch or Italian? Cheese on salad was chopped sandwich/burger type. Overall: Limited menu with the basics of what you'd want to quickly grab - burger, a couple sandwiches with a wrap option, chips or fries, and this garden salad. People we encountered were not friendly nor unfriendly, we were unknowns in the golf clubhouse. It was all even toned ride while we rode the wave. All was cool.
