I'd give zero stars if that was an option! The service is TERRIBLE!! It took half an hour to get an omelette and the place wasn't even busy. And when it finally came out the eggs were runny and it was cold. I was never offered a refill of my coffee and never received the toast that I asked for and was charged for. We went for our lunch, we should have gone to Walmart because their self checkout machine is much nicer than severs in this restaurant. Server's name was Cheryl (or Shelly), she was the worst server I've ever seen (2nd place is sever I saw in Chine, by the way). Simply terrible. We always like to go to Denny's although the quality and choice of the food keeps getting worse since the 1990s. But if you expect good old American friendliness, you better skip this Denny's in the beautiful Lake Powell area: We were neither greeted nor looked at by the Latino guy who seated us without a word. Then we were waiting for the server for about ten minutes. Even though the place was almost empty, nobody showed up. An Indian family had been waiting even longer and were constantly looking around for a server to come. Finally a waiter whose unfriendly look matched the guy who seated us, very slowly approached the Indian family. Not happy at all. The service was horrible. We waited 20-25 minutes for a waitress who wasn't even our waitress to take our order. Our appetizer came when we were half way done with our meal. After all that, the food was too salty. There aren't very many food choices in the area, but I would not recommend this place. Your better off getting cheaper, better tasting fast food. read more

We like this Denny's! First time in town. Came here Monday evening around 7:30 PM. The restaurant was about 70% full. Nice dining room with the usual Denny's booth seatings which we like. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly. Entrees were good with generous sides. The waitress kept my husband's diet coke refilled - he is happy. read more

As a local and longtime resident we are subject to only a few choices for breakfast. We frequent often for breakfast and the last 6 months????The worst. Takes 45-60 minutes for food. The Managers are horrible and never comp a meal or check to see why "people do not have their meal". It is very evident they do not CARE!. The poor waitresses and waiter are great but are stuck with horrible cooks who can't keep up and managers who do not manage the "kitchen". Everyone knows the help is only as good as manager and in our case we are stuck with 2 horrible managers. One male who is clueless and one female who I hear from many is truly in your face when you complain. Denny's Corporate needs to clean up their act and clean out and get rid of the managers and bring in people who can manage the staff and kitchen. I never tell anyone to eat there and I am in a position to do so. Tourists can be difficult, but not as difficult as the management of this company. Bathrooms typically dirty and smell and no one bothers to check them. Check out Ranch House Grille. Might be a bit more $$$ but at least you will get your food within a reasonable amount of time. If you're on a road trip and want a quick bite, definitely avoid this Denny's at all cost. Wife and I were road tripping from SoCal and due to a tight schedule we decided to swing by Denny's as we're familiar with the menu. We had to wait a good while when we can clearly see more than half the restaurant was empty. Once seated our waiter never came until we flagged someone down 10 minutes later. Wife ordered country fried steak and I ordered the sirloin (I know... who orders steak at Denny's. But after all the driving I needed some protein). Anyhow, wife's order comes up fairly quickly and correctly. I ordered a medium rare which I would've just eaten even if it was medium but the damn thing was charred. I flag down my waiter as she's obviously no where to be found again and inform her that my steak is completely burnt. Her response is "I know... (long pause) but the cook gave it to me like that". After I told her I can't eat this thing she asked if I wanted a new one. Decided to wait despite how upset I was especially as I was starving (I'm not myself when I'm hungry). Guess what she brings next? A practically raw meat dripping with blood. At this point I'm done... I asked her if she can't see the blood dripping on the meat. Her response, "I know... I told the cook but this is what he gave me... (long pause) do you want it cooked some more?" NO! How dense are you?! The cook there obviously ruined the first one then decides to shi* on their customer for returning it. I left believing Denny's was doing a good thing by hiring people with special needs. Walked into Denny's today for breakfast, it was half empty with roughly 10 to 18 Patrons seated. As a party of two you would think we would get seated generally quick however, the hostess said it would be a 30 minute wait just to get seated because "the cooks were behind". Ok, this is my experience at this particular Denny's. Well first of all, stay away from this location, the food, employees, and the atmosphere sucks. I've been at this location multiple times and I can say its not the best, for evenings in my cases. Breakfast are fine, but my last visits for dinner were horrid. My most recent and last time I've been there pretty much crossed the line. This is here how my last experience went. First I get off work hoping to get a delicious big meal with a family member. I order my food which we were seated quickly, and we order. We got the drinks and waited... And waited.. And waited for our foods. By the time we got our foods they were pretty much cold!!! Plus, they messed up our order!!! Secondly, the food is a complete rip off.. I ordered a chicken fried steak. I was hoping for a well prepared steak, you know, mashed potatoes, crispy, crunchy FRIED steak... But nope, what I got was something from a microwave!! Soggy, cold, stale steak!! And cold fries as well!! Lastly, the saddest part about this location is the manager!!! I can tell you this, the manager is the reason why this business isn't at the highest quality. I made a comment about how my experience was that day, because she had asked when I was paying. I simply replied my experience "awful, mediocre food, wrong orders etc." and to my surprise the manager had the audacity to tell me, a paying customer, "Then WHY do you keep coming back??" I mean??? My husband and I recently stopped at this Denny's on our way back to Washington State. May 4, 2015 Our first clue to just leave should have been the angry lady at the cash register, who had been waiting to be seated and could not get helped. With only one Hostess and people lined up to pay and to be seated, she was having a hard time doing both. We were seated in front of the angry lady. The manager came out and apologized and spoke to the hostess and promptly left. Although, there were still people waiting to be seated and to pay. He should have helped her. We were seated at 8:40am. at this time there were 3 tickets in the cook window and 3 cooks in kitchen. So food should have come out fairly fast. We were waited on promptly and order taken, by now we were about 8 in line of tickets. I had full view of kitchen, so of course I watched. The one cook in front was apparently in charge of toast and marking the order off the ticket as it was placed in window. They were apparently working on the first ticket, which happened to be the party of 8 seated in front of us. One plate at a time came up to the window and was marked off. At 9:30am all 8 plates were finished and the order was ready to be taken out. Of course by now the first plates up had to be cold. and they were just starting the 2nd ticket in line...(which was now up to 13 tickets.) It took 40minutes for this one order. Ours was now 7th in line, at this rate it would have been ready by noon!! The manager came out twice during this time and did not even talk to his kitchen staff or offer help in any way. We left..... Avoid this Denny's. We ended up at Burger king across the street. Hot food and ready in under 5 minutes. We go this way every so often, but will NEVER stop at this Denny's again. Need to properly train the cooks and get a manager that actually does something. This place gives Denny's a bad name! read more

Went to Denny's because the kids wanted to eat there. They love the pancakes. Service was very slow, we waited 45 minutes to receive our food. Then when we were finished eating we waited 15 minutes for our check and never received it so we walked up to the cashier to ask for our check and pay. Busy is understandable but maybe management should hire more staff... This was my second visit to Denny's recently and both visits we had terribly slow service. read more

And I ordered the chicken bacon classic. We waited for around 40+ minutes for our food, finally my mother's broccoli and cheddar soup came, then 5 minutes later my chicken bacon classic came. Although I was quite disappointed because the chicken was a lot smaller than the bun and it looked quite dry and the bacon was just 3 small dry overcooked strips.) My seasoned fries were just a handful (lesser than the usual Denny's at other places serve.) Nonetheless, I still ate my meal (or at least tried to, I was hungry what could I say) 5 minutes later my sister's super bird came and my mother's "turkey lettuce sandwich". My sister and mother were disappointed because my sisters "super bird" was made the way my mother wanted her turkey avocado sandwich to be. So the result was a poorly constructed "super bird", it had dry turkey meat and no melted cheese or tomatoes instead they gave her soggy like tomatoes on the side and as for my mother's sandwich it was just two thin wispy slices of turkey and lots of lettuce , so the waitress got the manager. (My mother and sister chose not to eat). The manager was busy so we had to wait about 10 minutes and finally she came and we addressed our complaints to her. We told her that the food look unappetizing and that it was not worth $9.00+. After we told her this, she seemed pretty offended, and in a rude tone she told us-" So? What do you want me to do about it?!" and my mother said we're not paying for the meals (excluding my half eaten chicken burger and half eaten seasoned fries.) So we got up and payed for the drinks ( which were around $2.39) and my half eaten meal. And for some reason the total came out to around $19.00+ and while we were heading out towards the entrance, the manager had the nerve to act so childish, she starts snickering to one of her employees. Let me start off by saying this place is shit. Management is shit and the food tastes like frozen food. Came in with a group of 6 people, waited an hour for our food and when the food arrived everything was cold. Steak was over cooked, country fried steak tasted like the frozen banquet you can buy at wal mart in the frozen food section, the skillet didn't come out sizzling, and the super bird looked like a 7 year old made it. On top of that, they didn't give us any discounts for the poor operations. I have had bad service in my days but this Denny's is BY FAR THE WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD! The waitress Brooke is extremely rude and has absolutely no customer service skills. She was standing at the hostess stand when I first walked in to ask if my service dog was accepted and she said if I had the proper paperwork (which I did) so I come back in with my husband and dog and she was not at the hostess stand and never came back so we watched her take her sweet time for about 10 minutes before someone came and helped us. Trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that she wasn't a hostess to begin with, we let it go but turns out we got seated in her section, we waited another 7-8 minutes before she came up to us and asked for our drink, doesn't introduce herself so I order a chocolate milkshake and say we are also ready to order due to the time she took, my husband goes to order his drink after I'm done speaking, she cuts him off with "okay, okay" in a really rude manner and just walks away without him getting to order his drink, after that I try to call her back over and she just looks at me and walks away. After that I got a manager who helped us with our order and since then, Brooke hasn't said a word to us besides just walking by. No apology for her awful customer service. Horrible, horrible service.
