When we go on vacation- I try to find local businesses to support when it comes to eating out. Non chain restaurants, "mom and pop" lil hole in the wall places. Found this on Yelp so had lunch there. We tried the Bison burger with tots and the Fry Bread burger with onion rings. I'm happy they let us choose between fries/ tots/ sweet potato fries/ onion rings without an extra upcharge. They keep the menu up on chalkboards. One of the first things I noticed was the meals they had priced out already were different than the separate price they said "make it a meal" cost. I think the chalk maybe was supposed to be erased under the already calculated meals? It was a little confusing, and I don't think they were trying to be deceptive, just know what you are paying. Staff was friendly, you order at a counter and they bring it out so you don't have a server. I liked my navajo burger enough and we got sweet potato fries that were crispy and hot. We're touring this area and stopped here for lunch. Friend and I both ordered the Mushie Burger. A burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and sauteed glazed mushrooms. It was really delicious! This used to be a great place to enjoy a burger; unfortunate it has fallen greatly. Burgers are thin and flavorless, green chili burger were okay because the chili is tasty. Could not wait to get some fry bread. This was mentioned to me from a local. Here you walk up and order and they bring it to your table. The portions are great. I had the sweet potato fries and fry bread. The fries were bomb! Nice size order. The fry bread was a great size as well, but it didn't have the flavor I'm use to and it was chewy. My friends had the burgers which they said didn't have enough seasoning and the fry bread was chewy for them as well. The tater tots had a perfect crisp and flavor to them. Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean and the portions were worth the price and it was made fresh . It also has inside and outside We chose the ice cream which is in a separate section of Slackers. The staff was nice but two of the people left one up front to help those who came in. Tasty lunches at an affordable price. That's how I describe Slackers. Their sandwiches have always been good, their sides are good, and their prices are good. It's not an exceptional place, but you leave pretty happy with the meal you've eaten. It's nice to have that consistency a place to eat which is why it's one of my to go lunch places. My family and I came here to get a quick bite around 6:30pm on Saturday night during the balloon regatta and festival were going on. 3 of us ordered burgers, and 1 ordered the chicken tender basket. The burgers had a good charbroiled flavor, and I really liked the potato roll. The chicken was just your run of the mill breaded and fried chicken strip. The seasoned fries and curly fries were ok, a little greasy IMO. Definitely time to change the fry oil. Overall, a good place to eat, but I noticed that it lacked cleanliness, in the restaurant itself and the bathrooms, which were out of paper towels. We hit up Slackers because it was one of the only places open. It's a walk-in and order at the window kind of place. They give you a number and you choose your seating. My only complaint is that you don't know what's on what when ordering. The board just says "Grilled Chicken salad" or "Buffalo Burger". I didn't want to ask the poor guy taking orders what was on multiple dishes so I just went with the grilled chicken salad since I felt like it was pretty straight forward and just asked for no tomato assuming that it would come on the salad. We got a burger on Navajo bread - absolutely delicious, and a Navajo taco which l was less a fan of, it was good but there was a lot of lettuce left on my plate when l was done eating - l would say go for the burger.
