The staff was beyond friendly to us! The greeter asked us if a table seating was okay --- I said we could wait for a booth...but rather than waiting, she opened the back of the restaurant so my husband and I could eat in private! In addition, when she saw that the chef had accidentally cooked our over-easy eggs too long, she gave us another 2 eggs on a separate plate for free! Food was delicious, we left extremely satisfied! The one time I went in here, there was a customer in front of me asking for his money back citing he has been waiting over 20 minutes for his food. I did place my order over the phone for pick up, so I received mine quick. However, once I got home, I saw that they failed to provide me with gravy for my chicken fried steak. My husband's eggs and pancakes were cold, and minuscule. If you want great food at a great price, screw Denny's and go to Sunrise Cafe; I've never had a problem with them and always get gravy for my chicken fried steak. Disappointed. 2 thumbs down. We went to Denny's in Maricopa for the first time. It looked super busy but we ended up only having to wait about 15-20 minutes. Nancy was the greeter and she was very kind. Our server Raven was excellent. It was a bit hectic which is to be expected at a brand new restaurant, but she was great. I ordered coffee and then realized there was no sugar at our table, our food came and we had to wait a couple minutes for silverware, but these are all small things that where taken care of right away. Our waitress was wonderful. The main problem was they took a long time to get our food out to us. That's why I went with 3 starts.

I thought service was great, cheeseburger and fries were great! That said I was disappointed that they still didn't have wine, but they are serving beer including IPA's. The server was over-seated causing us to get our check late, not her fault maybe management needs to hire more staff especially on a holiday. Now I was comfortable but my other half was hot. I have always loved Denny's. Amazing food at a reasonable price for your family. So this is the first time I have ever ordered food online and picked up. The online ordering process was simple and by the time I got from my house to Denny's-it was ready. No fuss. The food was good and fresh. Made my life easy with two kids out of school. I have always loved Dennys, but this by far has to be the BEST Dennys I have every been too. The servers are friendly the owners are amazing and the managers are absolutely wonderful. Walked in at 11:30p, three other parties none larger than four people were waiting in the lobby to be seated by a host. My date and I stood to the side of the door as all the seating in the waiting area was occupied. After about five minutes two of the parties were on their way out the door complaining that they'd been waiting an hour to be seated. I didn't believe them until the hostess finally came out to the lobby area and didn't even address us or any of the guests in the room. She simple stated "our cook needs time to catch up on orders" without looking up from her phone. I don't understand why none of the parties were at bare minimum seated and served drinks. Keeping guests waiting for north of an hour and not even welcoming them into the location didn't strike me as the most guest friendly service. This location could do better. read more

I was wanting the vegetable beef soup. The servers were rude, unfriendly, none of them smile. I have a service dog that weighs 85# and was told to put him under the table which had about a 1/2 cup of spilled ketchup and other food items he had to lay in and would fit comfortably a 40# dog max. I asked for some water for him. Wrong. I was sorry I just didn't leave then. I guess that is why the place was pretty empty and everywhere else in town was very busy. Broccoli was cold. The squash was only like warm. The fish was warm. The TV was on, and I don't watch TV but it was a good distraction. read more

My hubby & I went to this Denny's as there are really no "real" restaurants in Maricopa. Our first visit there had the philly omelet.. it was good.. but the next two visits have SUCKED!!!. The next time hubby ordered the philly sandwich and he askes to not have the sauce, and well I guess that also meant no cheese. They brought a couple of slices to him, and as you probably guessed.. nope they were not melted on it. So now our visit tonight.. waiting a reasonable time to be seated, then it went downhill from there. All we asked for were the pot roast melt, on sourdough.. an HOUR later we finally got our food.. the pot roast on them were two small cubes of meat and a couple mushrooms.. some onions. Manager offered a discount looked at our bill it was an AARP discount.. MY HUBBY is 60.. so this was no discount because the service sucked. We saw a party of 6 leave after nearly and hour & still no food.. oh they only had 3 servers.. I agree if this crap continues we'll be having our breakfast at McDonalds.. straighten up Denny's!! read more

Table for 5. Arrived at 8:15 pm. Not busy. Two sections were closed for the night and there were probably 6 table already seated. So disappointed this evening. Waited for an hour before 1 person in our group received their nachos. I understand about being short staffed in the kitchen but it was ridiculous. Thank you to our server Scoti for bringing out our food as it came up. Kids spaghetti, nachos, broccoli and muffin, steak and eggs, and finally the forgotten grilled chicken with potatoes and veggies. I've been in the industry for over 30 years. They took off the chicken dinner which was nice but seriously, the manager NEVER came out to the table to speak with us. We shouldn't have to ask to see him. He should have been out there as soon as he realized how long our ticket time was. He did make an appearance at the host stand that was directly across from us. Host and server were kind. I'm normally not one to post, and certainly not negative info, BUT, we went to Denny's last night about 9:00. Really wanted some breakfast! There were 3 tables(including us), 2 customers at the counter, 2 waitresses, 1 busboy(?) 2 cooks, and the manager. Needless to say plenty of staff. Our silverware was dirty, I had to request a coffee cup after finding lipstick marks on the first one. Our server "lost" our order ticket, therefor needed to get our order again. After much observation of flirtatious interaction between staff, including "manager", we finally got our food. My husband did not get his sausage, his pancakes were undercooked, his eggs overcooked-my sausage was pink(not eating this), eggs/hash browns laden in grease-i didn't receive my pancakes with our order-when it was brought to me, it was not prepared as it has been in the past. Needless to say, i did not eat, spoke with the manager and requested my meal taken off of the almost $30 check. Who charges $30 for flippin' breakfast! Anyway, thanks for reading. I encourage no one to eat at Denny's. Too bad cos we don't have many opportunities out here:-( read more

We walked in on a Saturday at 430pm for an early dinner. Besides one man sitting at the counter eating, we were the only ones there. The restaurant was filthy. They had to clean a table for us to sit at, and when we asked to sit in a booth they let us without cleaning it off. Under the table was filled with food and wrappers (literally a whole chicken strip was under there). With how little people were eating on a Saturday, the workers had plenty of time to clean. The mop and broom were even leaning on the table next to us (yuck!). The young lady who sat us didn't even bother to take her AirPods out of her ear when seating us. When our waitress came to take our order, her mouth was full of food. After placing our order, she walked around the restaurant with a plate of food and fork eating. Not only is this unsanitary, it's also very unprofessional. We never saw her wash her hands before bringing us our food. There was even dried lettuce wrapped in our silverware. It's really disappointing seeing such terrible cleaning, especially after Covid. We love bringing the family to Denny's but I'm not sure we will be returning after today. read more

So my husband and I decided to go to Denny's for dinner tonight beings this would be our second time giving them a chance since our first experience was absolutely HORRIBLE! This time was no better. The very first time we came to the new Denny's was the if them opening, and I gave them the benefit of the doubt beings they were just opening, but this time however was ridiculous. We waited maybe 15 mins to be seated which wasn't bad compared to the first time, but after being seated we waited another 15-20 mins to get our drink order and grant you it wasn't even our waitress that took our drink order it was another waitress. After we received our drinks our waitress finally came to take our food order. Once we got our food about 30 mins later from yet another WAITRESS, we had asked for some ranch for our fries and waited even longer with our main waitress nowhere in sight until I see her behind the bar doing who knows what! I will say the Manager was very nice, but as for the service it SUCKED!! Retrain your staff or close your doors until you can provide good customer service. I don't know about you guys but my husband and I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK! They lost our business for good. read more

Have ordered take out from here multiple times. Many times they would forget something, this last time they forgot eggs and bacon on one meal, so basically just got pancakes and hash browns. Went really early on Saturday morning hoping to not wait. What a waste of time and money. Our order was lost and as we watched people that were served while we were still waiting our waitress just kept walking on by us. She finally stopped and said our ticket was lost and we would be served soon. The manager was too busy to come out of the kitchen. SO after 45 minutes food came out and so salty I could barely eat it. When finished we went to pay. OMG the hostess' said that they didn't have a card to open the registers. So I asked to speak with the manager and was told he was too busy for us. Both Hostess' were very rude. We finally dug up some cash and told them we would never be back and they just laughed at us. We couldn't even get any change back from our bill. I'll stick with Agaves or Sunrise café. They can keep their Denny's. read more

Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant experience here. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive and is the only good thing about this visit. The food however was absolutely disgusting. The fries for our kids meal were soggy and smelt weird, the breakfast plate I ordered tasted extremely old. The steak burger we ordered did not taste great and tasted very bland. On top of all this the seating area smelt like old wet rags and was unpleasant to smell while eating. When we went to pay it took over 5 minutes for someone to come and take our money while other employees casually walked past while looking at us with no help. Raven is the best manager. She is the only person in the entire restaurant that truly cares about her guests and the business. She has been at this location since it opened. She works her butt off. The food is terrible and the service has really gone down hill but Raven always has a smile on her face and if it weren't for her I wouldn't go back. My fiancee went there on New Years eve and sat at the bar. The cooks got order after order wrong, take out tickets were taking 45 mins way too long, the servers were slow and I watched one wash her hands 3 times in a row for no reason. Raven was expediting the line, checking the to go orders, printing out tickets, checking people out and trying to make up for the lack of service. She could have literally ran the restaurant herself. She had 3 servers and was doing all the work. Which happens often when we go in. She does it with a positive attitude and with the lack of reliable employees, I dont know how she does it. She speaks to everyone with calm and respectful tones. I watched her train a guy on to-go orders during the chaos as well. Its impossible to be a successful manager when you have no one working together to make the restaurant flow like it should. My fiancee and I were in there again on Friday and as we sat at the bar (Raven was not present) we watched and overheard employees complaining about Raven and the franchise owner Jose collected written letters about Raven from the staff which entailed detailed complaints from the staff about her work as the manager. He shouted "make sure you all get in your letters before the meeting on Tuesday." We heard them talk about the mandatory meeting. I saw staff say that they had no complaints and asked other staff what they should write in the letters. It was horrible hearing employees rant about having to do their jobs and how they felt disrespected by Raven. The worst part was hearing Jose encourage the employees to plot against Raven when I know as a regular she works her butt off and she deserves so much more from Denny's as a whole. Maricopa knows Raven is a reputable employee and she has proven herself time and time again. If you read all of the bad reviews on Yelp you will not see one about her. If they want to blame someone they all need to look in the mirror and understand you can point the finger all you want but you have 3 fingers pointing back at yourself. If this Dennys wants to blame someone its definitely not Raven. She is the best part of this restaurant and it's the cooks, the servers and the owners will soon realize they all need to make some changes. I stopped in tonight to get some dinner only to hear Jose fired Raven. I didnt stay for dinner and I wont be going back. Jose and Zack should be ashamed of themselves. Do Maricopa a favor and shut the doors Denny's is by far the worst restaurant in Maricopa and the people that work there suck too! I wouldn't be surprised if they dont make it. Make sure you're wearing your patience hat. My six year old and I waited longer than we ate. We waited to put our name on the list, we waited to be seated, we waited for breakfast and we waited to pay our bill. Out of the hour and 15 minutes we were there, we hate for roughly 20 minutes. The service was fine, the food was sub-par. The issue is that the host/hostess does everything. He was taking phone orders, ringing out pick-up orders, adding names to the waitlist, seating incoming people and cashing out dine-in checks. That is entirely too much for one person. I understand it's Denny's, expectations were not high. Spend a little more and go to The Duke or just wait for IHOP to open and have some non- rubber pancakes. read more
