Service was good as we came here after our sporting event as a team. They had the Thurs night Football game on, Baseball playoffs and some other stuff... nice we ordered, without question, everyone headed to the patio area as it was WAY TOO COLD inside!!! We could still see the TVs, and they brought out our food in a timely manner as it was all staggered ordering from each person. I went with the Dry Rub Lemon Pepper wings (just a half dozen) and a 10-inch pepperoni & sausage pizza. Food was as expected and it was a good meet-up spot for our large group. Barro's made a beautiful restaurant off of the John Wayne. It looks like one of the best pizza shop that I've been in. Now remind you that what I'm saying is just my opinion, I m in no way trying to speak for others or influence anyone. With my photos you can tell that this is a thick pizza, a lot of dough that will fill you up real fast. This not my style pizza at all. The sauce was not tasty at all and the pizza being this thick should be cooked long. I'm not saying not to try it at all. The service is nice and this place is very clean. This is a quiet restaurant in the Walgreen's plaza off the north side of Smith Enke and John Wayne Parkway. The space is large with room for big parties or groups. You preorder the food, and someone brings it out to you. Drinks are Pepsi products and three options for tea. The pizza is good; you can taste the cheese, and it's not insanely greasy, nor is it only bread. It's a good balance of ingredients. Wings were excellent. Expect to use a lot of napkins with all that sauce! Garlic bread is very moist without the bread being tough. The marinara sauce is chunky and sweet, making a delightful pairing with the bread. Disappointed/Frustrated Ex-Large pizza had very little cheese and even fewer toppings. There were so few mushrooms on the pizza that they could barely be noticed. There was so little sausage that not every slice had even one piece, and those that did had only one single piece of sausage. The edges of the celery for the wings were brown and only 11 wings instead of 12 were in the box. Also the salad was meant for another customer as the tag on it shows another person's name phone number and address, which tells me that someone else has my name address and phone number. The items in the salad were all wrong. Way to go Barro's. If we EVER come back, I will open every single item on the counter to check that the expectations set by Barro's by taking the details in the first place, are actually met. If your margins are so narrow that you can't properly top a pizza maybe you should re-evaluate how you do things. While we generally only order salads and sandwiches we do like Barro's for these items. The sandwiches have plenty of ingredients and we never leave hungry. The salads are also very large portions. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. The new location is smaller but we've still never had trouble finding a place to sit. read more

Pretty good pizza. I didn't care for their service a few years ago but I think they turned things around. You can eat inside or outside so the atmosphere is ok. Barros still has room for improvement but I think they have a good location and can do it. I ate a Barro's for the first time today. My girl friend had gotten pizza from there when she first moved here and said it was good. So her and I went for an early dinner. We ordered the Ravioli and an antipasto salad. A lot of value for $9 on the ravioli with 2 pieces of bread, we split the salad and ravioli and we're both very pleased. Both the food quality and price were very good and the young women who were working were friendly and helpful. I will be back. My Girlfriend raved about the ice tea. My wife and I used to order from Barro's at least 2 times a month, and usually a large order around $100.00 each time. quality was good, consistency of the pizza and food. But we've been away for a couple years and have now returned. Last night we order delivery same as we have always ordered and were expecting a great pizza from Barro's again around $100 dollars, but what we got was etrousish. I guess they moved from their old location to the old pizza hut shop. well I don't know why but the quality is gone probably left at the old location. Everyone understands that costs have gone up on everything but to compromise the quality of ingredients to save a buck is just bad business. The complete order was terrible. the ingredients they are now using are of a very low quality, bad taste to the cheese now and their sauce taste just like jarred spaghetti sauce. the pizza crust was soft, salty and wet so bad we boxed it up and into the dumpster it went, and they messed up the order something terrible. their Marana sauce tasted, again like jarred spaghetti sauce, no italian spices or flavor. I don't know why they cheapened their ingredients but it sure made them bottom of the list this is NOT a good place to order from. Sooo I placed an online order on New Year's Eve... and it was a very interesting experience. Ended up waiting over an hour when I went to pick it up and eventually had them refund my order completely. They still offered me my food which I took. I got a pepperoni pizza and wings and if the food wasn't so good I would say don't come. It was probably a one off due to the holiday and my last minute pizza craving. I've lived in several states in my lifetime & Barros is the best Pizza I've ever eaten. Also really love the apple spinach salad with walnuts & feta cheese. Got to have poppy seed dressing. Yum, And it's enough to serve at least 4 people. My only criticism is the pizza needs more sauce. read more

Oooooh Barros, who doesn't love Barros?!! We stopped by for some lunch on the way back from skydiving and so we were starving. We were surprisingly greeted when we walked through the doors by a very friendly employee. We placed our orders, one large pizza, a salad, and some boneless wings. Called in for pick up the girl in the phone said 35 minutes, we get there after 25 minutes and the two large pizzas and spaghetti were cold. We went home and had the Kona pizza, the girl on the phone said it was grilled chicken and it was breaded chicken nuggets and it was hard, like they only deep fried the flour mixture. It was saltier than the dead sea, looked like diarrhea and was burnt. The pepperoni pizza was greasy and also burnt. I'm a native Chicagoan and a lover of pizzas. Aka a fat man. Entered to a most incredibly helpful employee. She honestly was delightful. Processed the order and found my table. It was early on a Tuesday, waited maybe 18 minutes or so. Maybe longer as I was on my phone. Za arrived steaming it was so hot. I love it. I did the Barro's standard minus onions. I'll deconstruct the za... Dough... thin but lacking structure... it just flopped when it was picked up. Flavor was ok. Nothing exceptional. The sauce is true to the Chicago sweet tomato type. Pleasant and tasty. Toppings... maybe the combination just isn't my thing but I wasn't thrilled. When I consider a Chicago style standard I would stick to sausage plus black olive or mushroom and green pepper. Or swap the sausage for pepperoni. I am from a sausage family NOT pepperoni. Stopped in for a bite to eat before heading out to the Casino. This place is worn and tired looking. And if I'm being honest it didn't look super clean either. Service at first was fine as I ordered at the counter, I ordered a beer and a personal size mushroom and onion pizza! My glass of beer was covered in lipstick, which is yeah gross, but it was quickly remedied and I was given a fresh beer in a clean glass. The wait for the za wasn't super long and the pizza though nothing special was hot and tasty. My only complaint was the waitress just dropped it off and was gone in a flash! She didn't ask me if I needed cheese or peppers or pepper etc: Also never checked to see if my food was ok or if I wanted another beer. So service drops this place to three stars. I don't normally post reviews of chain restaurants but I have to say that this location was a great experience for us. I called ahead to order and came in 10 minutes early, I told them no rush yet because I was waiting they gave me a water and prioritized the pizza In the oven. Was done early and the folks behind the counter were very nice. This was the evening shift 10/07/2023. I always appreciate a smile and friendly service, it's lost in today's world, and the pizza and wings were great. Getting gourmet pizza is always a great choice but having a place like Barro's where you can get very good pizza for a good price and friendly service on a late night for my cheat meal, is also a great choice.
