Certainly nothing fancy the building is very nonchalant. I almost thought they were closed because I went to the side door went inside. The restaurant was very busy. We just took our order brought coffee constantly food was awesome. Prices were awesome.

Came with friend for breakfast after almost 3 years due to bad experience last time. Was seated right away and our waiter took our orders right away and kept my coffee cup refilled often. Place is much cleaner (table top not greasy and no leftover debris). I ordered the Western Omelet with Hash Browns and toast (sadly out of English Muffins), with side of salsa. Food came quickly and there was a ton of it! It was really tasty and I really enjoyed it. My friend got the biscuits and gravy and he really enjoyed it as well. I was pretty impressed with the improvement since my last visit. Thanks for a great breakfast.

I really try to be supportive of small businesses, especially restaurants. This was my second time here. I came to my breakfast with my daughter. I really had high hopes. Last time I was here... I admit it's been a while. First off the restaurant was supposedly to open at 8. The doors were still locked at 8:05. After waiting outside with other diners, they finally open the door at 8:10. The woman who let us in, I didn't recognize her, nor did I recognize the female cook in the kitchen. The you male waiter wasn't there either. Looks like they have had some turnover in staff. After we were seated, we got some menus. As other diners came in we were ignored. It took a while to get our orders taken. The waitress was by herself, she was also the person who opened the door. She was stretched too thin. I ordered a Chile relleno omelette with green sauce and my daughter ordered the Spanish omelette. She ordered hash browns on the side. Our food came with refried beans. The food was very disappointing. The green sauce was like a thick green water with corn starch. The egg was over cooked. The omelette split in half when I cut it. It lacked cheese and flavor the refried beans or some of the worst ones I've ever had. They tasted like they came out of a can--metallic taste. My daughter was not a fan of her breakfast either. When she cut into her omelette a bunch of water came out. The hashbrowns were so over cooked and dry. I will have to come at dinner time and give it a try, but this is definitely not a place I would eat at for breakfast again. The service was slow. Everyone has a bad day. I know there's a shortage of staff everywhere. I can take bad service or slow service if the food is great. Not so this visit They pride themselves in being one of the best places for Mexican food. I have definitely had my share of Mexican food and this is not the best.

2 eggs and bacon breakfast - A mostly empty white plate with a fork and a knife, on a wooden table at a restaurant, with some food remnants and a glass of drink.

Duke’s Roadhouse - Ribeye and potatoes.

Duke’s Roadhouse

This gem of a restaurant is absolutely fantastic…read more It's a little difficult to get to if you don't know the directions, but it's in an old-timey building that was once a consignment store. It's cool though because it's rustic while providing outdoor seating both upstairs and downstairs. This place kind of looks like a barn but in a very vintage, very cool way. The space within is open and comfortable; tables are reasonably distanced from each other, there's a stage with a drum set and mic for live music, and country themed string lights wrapped around the stair rails and upstairs banisters. Country music plays in the background and on the TVs above the stage while sports play on other screens across the restaurant. Shelby was very nice. When we initially arrived, she was the only server, so her manager stepped in to take our orders and help. I love this because more managers should be hands on and help their employees. I can't speak for the drink menu while I'm sober, but the food is as roadhouse as you get, but in a great way that isn't generic. You can taste the smoky flavor in the sliders from the sampler and even in the baseball sirloin. The meat is very tender. Even the chicken in the sampler was moist and tender. The cowboy bites were addictive with cheesy goodness and mushroom juice exploding on your tongue. Not a fan of the asparagus, which I felt was bland and overcooked, but asparagus is very difficult to get right, even among experienced cooks. The potatoes had too much garlic, but my husband liked them, so I guess that comes down to subjectivity. He loved the ribs. Excellent service and food for a moderate price. The steaks can get up there in price, so be prepared to dig a little deep, but everything is appropriately priced for what you're receiving. On our way out, a server greeted a pair of customers with genuine excitement: "Oh you're back!" And they told her they returned because of her. I think more people should understand that customers get attached to servers. So good service matters for more than a review or requirement. It makes people feel good, and it makes the servers feel good too when the service is genuine. I am inclined to agree. Everything about this restaurant was excellent.

We split the hummus trio (4.25/5), and I got the Grilled Chimichurri Chicken (3.5/5). The hummus…read morewas a lot better and more than I thought it was going to be; it was enough for five of us to share as an appetizer and for me to also fill the gap left by my main. The side salad that came with the main was fine (3.5/5). The chicken itself was pretty good (4.25/5); the chimichurri added an excellent flavor. However, the vegetables were clearly frozen (2/5). The service was very slow (2/5); we waited quite a while to order and to get our appetizers and mains. Also, our drinks were empty for most of the time. The ambiance is ok (3/5), but it's a little loud inside.

The Duke At Rancho El Dorado Golf Course - Monte Christo! Good, but I'm used to an eggish batter similar to French Toast! I think either butter or oil was used!

My husband saw fish fry on the menu, I said would that be on Friday? But the menu says nothing about certain days, nothing. So we go. 5:30 pm Saturday night not a single person there but a full wait staff. We sit, she brings the menu and a separate menu about the options of fish. My husband comments on the fish, she said "that's only on Friday" we look at each other and wonder, why are they giving us a menu only for Friday on a Saturday? All ready again not impressed or interested so we left. Figure the staff can go home since we were the only people there.

Why not! After a quick drive over the mountains and through the woods, we met up at this cute place on a golf course for breakfast. I ordered the Maricopa Omelet which has cheese, ham, and green hatch chiles in it. It was also served with some homestyle potatoes and some toast. It was a great breakfast and the weather was even nice enough to dine al fresco with a view of the golf course lake. So many cute ducks and geese wandered about and our waitress, Jill, kept the coffee mugs filled. It's a great spot! I can see this place being enjoyed by the community and residents in Maricopa. Get some good eats here at The Duke!
