Well let me begin on a positive note: When we first got there the service was great: sat down quick, she took our drink orders and kept returning to take the rest of our drink orders as the stragglers of our family joined the table. She was nice and very accommodating as well. Then it all kind of went down hill from there. Our food took a little longer than expected, but there was a decent amount of other guests (not a ton, but a good few) and our waitress (Nicole) seemed a bit bustled. We got a bit worried about our orders and other people that had gotten there before us still without their food, so we asked manager (which seemed to be helping out a lot more than he should have) and he said they were short staffed and to forgive them. We got our food about 10 minutes later and it wasn't very hot, but that might be because the air conditioner was set a bit too high (which was nice efforts to keep it cool based off of past yelp reviews). We did have to ask to get some of our pancakes reheated though because the butter wouldn't melt on them. Which my boyfriend said he could see the waitress role her eyes after we gave her the pancakes. Plus, I think they forgot one of our orders, but they fixed it quickly. Altogether, not a great experience there but we were just passing through. Won't be on my list of great Denny's, but they seemed to be trying their best. I work in the food industry as well and know how frustrating and stressful it can be trying to make all the customers happy, but the service has to remember to keep their faces and the attitudes positive. read more

This place is AWFUL. i ordered online to go pick up my order, my husband got the food and came home, when we checked the bag, they forgot more than half of my $55 order. (this place is 20 minutes from where i live) my husband called & the lady on the phone said they would remake our entire order. when he finally went back, one of the girls that works there is believe her name is andrea or something like that. she was EXTREMELY disrespectful to my husband & told him to call me & while on the phone she kept telling me i was wrong & asked me to send a picture of the food they put in the bag, then proceeds to tell my husband that he's wrong so she's going to check the cameras. then made him sit there for over an hour because this minimum wage chick (whom said she worked there for 10 years, as a host) clearly shouldn't be working in customer service. anywayyy, overall, this dennys was trash and only has maybe 2 good employees. the manager was also an idiot. thanks for coming to my ted talk read more

I gave Denny's another try, this time for breakfast.. And I have to say I am very happy and surprised with the good service and great food I got! Love their new butter milk pancakes! Mayra was our server and she gave us great service, constantly checked on us and came back with coffee. read more

I'm from Missouri and travel all over the country for work. This has to be the worse Denny's I have ever been to. I stopped in one night and it was slightly busy. Maybe 15-20 people. And I waited for almost 20 minutes to be seated. When I was finally seated. I ordered a water. And they were very fast on getting that to me. As I was looking at the menu. The guy at the next table told me that the wait for food would be long. So I just order pancakes. It took 45 minutes to get my food. And the pancakes weren't even hot. So I decided to give them one more shot. I came in on a not so busy night. Got seated fast. And the male waiter was awesome. Kept checking on me. A big plus!!!! Well I ordered the the lumber jack plate. I got that in less then 5 minutes. I was thinking to my self. This is awesome. Get in and get out. I was wrong. The bacon looked like and tasted like it was in the warmer for hours. And the hash brown were so over cooked I thought I broke my teeth trying to eat them. It seemed to me that the only fresh thing that was one my plate was the two eggs, toast, and maybe the sausage. I don't mind waiting for a good meal. But for the food to be over cooked as bad as it was it had to take longer then 5 minutes. IHOP down the road is a 5 star restaurant. Made fresh and delicious. First off I am a huge Denny's fan, with that said, this is the worst Denny's in the entire chain. This place has the worst service of any place you will ever eat at. But I must say that they are extremely consistent with providing the worst customer service on the planet. Since we live in a small town and this is the only Denny's around we are stuck in having to go there when we want a Denny's fix. And they are very consistent in providing the most awful dining experience around. We finally gave up after giving it many chances praying it would change, it didn't. This is probably the best Denny's I have eaten at. For an appetizer we had mozzarella sticks and their bacon ranch appetizer. Delicious and very well prepared. For dinner I had the Mediterranean chicken and my companion had the salmon. Both entries were superb, and the zucchini side dish was fabulous. Great place to eat foods always nice and hot and tastes yummy. I try to call this location and the phones always busy i can never get thru so i tell my self just order online. Which i did hoping this would be my solution to the problem... I choose the option that says curb side and even when i pull up i try to call and let them know im here but again the phones just busy busy busy....... Whats the point of even giving a description of your car if no ones even paying attention to who pulls up in the curb side stalls. And no ones answering the phone it just stays busy...... The whole point of doing curb side is to be convenient. The four stars is because the staff is always on top of wearing masks and they have always had a great addittude anytime weve been there. As far as being on top of there game and paying attention to the customers if your gonna leave the phone off thr hook at least pay attention to the cars that pull on to the curbside stalls.... Just saying...... Get ot together dennys you guys arent busy right now and im sitting in my car waiting on my order and my husband has already been inside once food wasnt done so we are jist hanging out the hostess didnt even ask what stall we were in to bring us our food.... Dont waste your damn time. Waited an hour for shitty service and cold ass food and then the waitress wanted to get snotty with the manager about how many tables she has, in front of customers. Came in at 11:11pm and the place was completely dead, there was literally 3 tables being used. We came with a party of seven and all the big tables were there empty, and multiple serves we're on the clock . It took them half an hour to seat us , but the place was completely dead? The service was absolutely terrible , after 40 minutes we just had to walk out , no one even bothered talking to us and apologizing for being rude . I will not be returning !! read more

Poor Service...3 orders in the last 3 weeks! Twice a week I travel through Madera with my work crew. Commonly, it is after 10pm (so telephone ordering at this location is not an option). I buy food for the crew (3 to 6 of us). For years, I placed telephone orders until about 2-3 years ago when that was no longer an option. Then, we just ate other places. Anyway, I thought that we would try the online ordering since that has become so popular with other food establishments. Online ordering allows you to may changes/substitutions which is great. At least it would be great, if they actually read the "mods" to the order. The first two orders...we got the food that we ordered, but none of the substitutions were done correctly. This last time, apparently they were out of salmon. When I arrived, I was told that they had tried to call me. I checked my phone in front of them...no call. I asked them which number they called. The waitress repeated my number correctly. They offered to substitute my meal. I did not have time to wait. (What's the point of online ordering if you want to wait while they prepare your food?) The reason I use telephone or online ordering is to feed my crew on the way home without having to spend additional time waiting in a restaurant. So, I elected to skip dinner rather than have my crew get home later. Then I was told that I would have to go online to get refunded for the $17 meal that they charged me for, but didn't have? Why would you charge me for food you don't have and I didn't get? I ask for the manager...he said that "this time they would refund me", but they are not supposed to? What's up with that? Please get the online ordering straightened out. I would like to continue using your Madera location. read more

Very long wait to get seated and no body was there. Not busy. Not enough people working. Then other people got served before me and I ordered before them!! Never coming back. I try not to give bad reviews but this one is definitely called for. I came in with my 3 kids and after standing around for 15 min I was finally greeted... No big deal I understand things happen but it wasn't that busy then after getting the attention of someone she rolled her eyes and found a place for us to sit. We then sat there for 20 min (I am not exaggerating) no one came so I proceeded to go back up to the hostess and let her know. Finally our server came. We got here at 6:20 pm and after ordering we didn't get our food for 40 min!!!! I was beyond irritated and I even had to ask our server if our food was almost done as we only ordered breakfast and every one around us was getting their food after coming in after us! She told me she had a lot of tickets and it should be 5 more min. We finally got our food and it was slightly warm. This was one of the worst Denny's we have been at. Very slow service and when the food finally came out it was cold. We always leave a tip because it is not the server fault what kitchen does but this time she was not good so no tip. We will not be eating in there again. Terrible, terrible, terrible! It took them almost 15 minutes to seat us and we were the only people wait (right then and there we should have left), when we got our booth it took them another 5 minutes to bring us our waters, 45 minutes later we got our food, cold and very disgusting looking, we never got a refill on our waters until I finally yelled out "excuse me!" to get the waitresses attention. When we asked to speak to the manager on duty we got a very dirty look and when the manager on duty finally came to our table and we told her that we expected a little higher standard of service we got major attitude from her!!
