Round two, and this place still chooses violence (the good kind). Came back again--this time for the chicken sandwich, onion rings, and a brand-new shake, because clearly I have no self-control. Happy to report: nothing has changed. The burgers are still perfect, the chicken sandwich did not disappoint, and the Fruity Pebbles shake was absolutely unhinged in the best way possible. I swear, these shakes have never let me down. Ever. Service: I've personally never had an issue here, but I've seen comments saying the staff can be rude. Let's be honest--this isn't In-N-Out or Chick-fil-A where employees greet you like they've known you since kindergarten. Those places train for that. Here, the staff is young, a little quiet, maybe not super bubbly--but they take your order, get your food right, and if you actually talk to them, they warm up. Give them a chance to level up their social stats. We were all awkward once. Ambiance: Totally fine. Well finally had the opportunity to drop in at Sizzlin Smash and the burgers were there yup they were. Maybe a bad day nothing exceptional and the fries were hot at least. Each item sold separately no combo type plates. Almost $30.00 bucks for the order and didn't finish food items. The service at the counter was good young person very personable. Problems with ice cream machine so no milkshakes. The ambiance or vibe of this place is raw and scattered, maybe haven't made a decision on what direction they want to go with it. Bathroom was closed moved a trash receptacle in front of it to block it. So customers had to ? I am hoping just a bad day undecided on whether to return for a second try. First Smashburger Restaurant in Madera so I excited to try it. Inside the restaurant was nice and tidy with cool logo mats. Employees at the front were friendly. The Shake was really watery seemed like it was just milk. I wanted a vegetarian option and they had none so I asked if they can make me a grilled cheese with toppings and sauce minus the meat. I received a grilled cheese with sauce only. The Sizzlin Smash Western was just okay....too greasy so it started falling apart. The fried Zucchini was okay, the ranch was good and helped. The customer service was fast, efficient, and above reproach. The quality of the food was better than expected given its location. I rarely trust strip mall restaurant foods versus stand alone brick and mortar buildings. I ordered a Bacon Smash Burger, French Fries, Zucchini Sticks, and loaded French fries. The burger was well cooked, the bacon was a little over cooked but okay, the assembly of ingredients were well organized, fresh, and appetizing. I did not like the regular French fries. They were too thick and got soft too quickly. The Zucchini Sticks were very good and well coated and cooked crispy enough. I didn't like the brand of ranch dressing (too runny). The loaded fries would have been better without the 'sauce' - maybe just the cheese and serve the sauce on the side. I went on a Sunday at lunchtime. The place had a steady customer stream but not so much to cause more than a 10 minute wait time. Excited about this spot we decided to try three different things. We orders the bbq cheese burger which was excellent and the price ridiculously cheap! The quality of the meat was juicy. I ordered the lettuce wrap cheeseburger the lettuce was delicious and crispy. The most amazing thing was the nuggets and the fries! My 93 your old father and I stopped in for the first time today, the young lady at the counter was very nice and helpful. The café was very clean and neat. The burgers were amazing; great sauce, fresh crispy produce and heavenly potato buns, probably the best smash burgers we've ever had. As were the chocolate milkshake, french fries and onion rings. I was very disappointed :( The Sizzling Smash Cheeseburger Burger $6.49 with the fixings was not worth the price. The meat patty was so thin, I don't think it was even 1/4 of a lb. Their special sauce is watery and no flavor. I also purchased onion rings $4.99. I received 6 onion rings, 83 cents a onion ring :( with a drink total $15.18. This place it overpriced and overrated!
