Mozzarella sticks are always a must. We got the mango habanero wings and those were also spicy and sweet. Let me start with customer service.. The server is too sweet makes amazing recommendations.. her name was Danielle!! She didn't get any of the orders wrong, was quick to wait on people and. Lean up after them. She gave great explanations of specials and really was quite welcoming and a believer in the beverages and food items sold. 5/5 rating for customer service!! The food was typical bar fare for me. But she made it taste better! I will say whoever was frying the food not only had the perfect temp on the fried food choices but also perfect timing. Everything was super crunchy and perfectly salty! This is hard to do, definitely wasn't expected at all place like this!!! Perfectly frying and salting food 5/5 She recommended the pomegranate beer and it was delicious!! It was crisp, floral, lightly sweet, bubbly and everything she promised it would be!! This use to be our favorite spot in madera. The pizza is cooked really fast. It's usually really really good! And love the craft tap rotations and choices... but this last time something was very different and I'm not sure I'd want to spend my money here again . We ordered to do and when I got home our pizzas were black on the crust and bottoms. This is thin crust. So only about 4 bites on each slice we edible.... Being an ex employee, one thing I can say is tap house has yummy food. You have to go on fridays to try the fish tacos, it's so delicious and the chipotle aioli sauce is soooooooooooo good! fried string beans are a must try, and if you don't like beer get the pomegranate sangria wine! read more

Service is the bomb. Our appetizer was going to be delivered after our entrees on a busy Saturday night. They gave us the appetizers free of charge and boxed them up so we could take them with us. Lots of rotating beers, great food, trivia night, and there was a Tap take over from Altamont brewing company. But the best part were the beertenders! From the very first night there, Erykah was a blast! Funny, down to earth, very attentive, and never steered us wrong on the menu! She always knew what to recommend! She kept us laughing too! The bartender/waiter barely greeted us and told us they decided to shut the fryer off because they were slow, which meant we couldn't order any of the fried items on the menu. It was over an hour before you closed. We had just spent 15 hours at Yosemite so we were very hungry. We ordered the cheesy bread twists and it took over 45 minutes to come out. He told us, "we moved your order behind a few others, sorry for the wait". When we got that, it was burned on a few pieces. It took another 15 minutes to get our pizza. Mine first and then my wife's came out after I had finished 1/2 my pizza. Her pizza was burned on the edges. We didn't order drinks so I suspected that is why he didn't care. He kept apologizing to everyone saying "things were hectic" but the place wasn't even 1/2 full. Suffice it to say we couldn't have felt any less cared for and the experience was abysmal. read more

My wife and I make a drive about 3-4 times a year from Northern California to Southern California and we always stop in Madera. About 4 years ago we found this place and we fell in love with the food. We always get the same thing each time - BBQ chicken pizza and baby blue salad and of course I get a beer - I get a different kind each time. Of course - why not it's a tap house. Very nice Tap-house! Great music playing! Clean and safe with a nice bar! The worker was kind. I ordered their BBQ chicken sandwich with a side salad. Paid for the order and the worker said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I waited inside. Great atmosphere. Cool and calm . Order brought shortly later and put on the table for me to take along with a welcome after I thanked her for bringing it to me. The sandwich is large. I had 1/2. Really Great! Went tonight and the whole place reeked of old oil. Sat inside had one drink, a sad order or garlic fries that had all the burnt bits from the frier and had an old oil taste. Would not recommend this place to anyone. All of our clothes REEKED after leaving the establishment. Never again. read more

We stayed in town for work. Ordered the veggie pizza (they forgot to add the sauce on this one) and the bbq chicken pizza. Both thin. Which was good. But very dry. Needed more sauce. Not much chicken in the pizza either. Not much to write home about. But then again there's like nothing in Madera. So meh. Only good thing hubby mentioned was the lady who helped him close out the order - gave him a small glass of the blind pig beer on tap for free (his fave beer) also I think they are over priced. Best fish tacos ever on Fridays. Food overall is very good. Karaoke every other Monday and Trivia Tuesdays are both fun.

Some things I love: Appetizers- Love the Fried Ravioli, Fried Green Beans and wings. The mini calzones are also great and come with a side of sauce. I'd skip the pretzel and pizza bites if you want to share because the portions are super small Pizza: Get the Asade Pie and Veggie pizza for sure. Their regular crust is thin and crispy and their cauliflower crust is decent for a GF option. Skip the margherita pizza tho. It's skimpy on sauce and cheese and has Roma tomatoes on top. They were also out of basil when we went but didn't tell us until they served the pizza. I also liked the bacon blue salad. It comes chopped and has a lot of toppings. That's not to say its bad, it's just not what what you expect- like going in for a job interview and the guy interviewing you is wearing green sequined overalls. What I would expect from a place called the tap house would be more than 12 beers available. As an IPA drinker, my choices were Golden Roads Mango cart IPA and Firestones Winter Haze. Really? A mango or a hazy? Hmm. I guess I was just looking forward to maybe discovering something. I get that Madera may not be a metropolis, but c'mon, you can do better. Food was fine. Limited choices for a kind of kitchen that's probably using a microwave and a small pizza oven to get their food out. There not really cooking here, more like putting things together. Hidden little spot in the back corner of a Home Depot parking lot and behind a hotel. Traveling for work and was easily able to walk from my hotel to this spot. Daily menu specials and craft beer selection. I came on trivia night and it was packed inside but I was able to grab an outside table next to the restaurant mascot kitty! I had the wood fire pizza and side salad as well as a sour and bacon fries. The ranch dressing is delicious! I feel like that makes such a huge difference when eating salads and pizza. I was able to sub creamy garlic sauce onto my meat lovers pizza which was perfect! Highly recommend this place. read more
