very nice breakfast close to the airport. The waffles were perfect. The banana pancakes and cinnamon pancakes were good. the milkshake was very tasty. all of the eggs were cooked to order. no problem in getting a table for 5 read more

Went on a Sunday evening. Not crowded at all so got a booth right away. The manager greeted us, got us sodas, waiter was prompt and friendly. The food took over 30 minutes to come out. We ordered a senior dinner and a grand slam. Both were delicious. The kitchen made a mistake on the senior dinner and gave my partner 2 pieces of chicken fried steak instead of one. They didn't charge us extra, cool. The server was attentive. Our complaint was how long it took the kitchen to make our food. The menu seemed limited. We probably won't be going back for quite awhile. Our dining experience took 1 1/2 hours. This for diner food read more

Slowest Denny's ever, missed my movie and changed my entire day's plans because they took forever to deliver the food. Ten minute wait for a table when there where five people in the restaurant. read more

I tried going there for breakfast with my son, today is Mother's Day and the hostess treated me like garbage. She was very unprofessional and downright rude! I asked for the manager and waited ten minutes for nobody to come out including the rude hostess. Needless to say I got angrier and took my son and left. This girl was very rude and did not care that she was rude. If I return ever I will be sure to let them know how ignorant their staff is. read more

The ppl was very rude and my pancakes were burnt... I sent them back and all I hear is the waitress and her co workers laughing at how I wanted my pancakes ( what I guess she wants them medium rare!! Very unprofessional PERIOD! I will NEVER eat here again this shift at all read more

For what it is, a quick warm breakfast on a rainy morning, it hits the spot. Not great food but good. Had the lumberjack slam. The waitress named Burgundy was decent. Bathrooms horrible. read more

Denny's - Denny's - American Near Me - Essington, Pennsylvania

This place is a miserable excuse for a restaurant. Been in several times and the wait staff are always the most inattentive and lazy I've ever come across - and that's saying something, because I've eaten in some pretty crappy places. Avoid this shit-hole at all costs. read more

We had a good experience at this Dennys, great waitress, fast yummy food! Most Dennys are hit and miss, this one delivered

I will not be returning to this restaurant. Service was slow...slow to be seated, hostess unsmiling, no drink order until meal order was taken 15 minutes after we were seated. We had to request our check. The food took forever and was barely edible. My salmon was not fresh (not obvious until I reached the middle of the piece), the mashed potatoes and broccoli were barely warm. Not one person asked if we enjoyed our meal, I guess they knew the answer. At checkout, the same hostess that seated us rang us up without ever making eye contact, let alone a smile! The meal was not bad enough to refuse, but my husband and I will not be returning to this restaurant - even though we live locally. read more

Great staff. Our waitress was so friendly and full of smiles! Kia was fabulous! Thank you! The food was also great. I have been to good Dennys and bad Dennys before. This is by far one if the better Dennys i have been to. Thank you read more

Waited 25 minutes, no one ever came to the table. No silverware, no server, no drinks, nothing. And we werent the only ones left high and dry. Place is filthy. Can't speak to the food quality. We had 2 kids with our party of 5. They were starving. We left and went to Popeye's down the street. read more

This is the worst Dennys I have ever been to. I gave it a second shot thinking the first time was a fluke. The wait times are ridiculous, the wait for your food is incomprehensible! Then when explain to the white haired manager that your food is cold (for some odd reason since you waited 50 min for it to come out) he has balls To disagree with you!eggs and bacon don't take 50 minutes to cook! Won't ever return! read more

I'm pretty sure this isn't what corporate had in mind. Beware of the incompetent team of lazy waitresses who will make you wait on them each and every time. Prepare to wait more than 30 minutes for your food and that is if your waitress remembers to put it in for you. Prepare for overcooked toast, runny eggs and have your sausage e-coli-fresh medium rare. Pass this place up! PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE! read more

I stayed at the Wyndham right next to this Denny's. AS the internet was out at our hotel, I came to Denny's to utilize the Wifi. The wait to get a table (on every account) was long. They had MANY open tables....yet a waiting list to get seated. I had the Chicken sandwich (Fit fare). This was the worst chicken sandwich I have ever had. The bread was not fresh, the chicken small, and it came with vegetables that were not fresh. I then ordered a salad as I did not finish my lunch. The lettuce was not fresh. The waitress never came to check and see if I needed another drink, water, anything and I was there for over an hour. Poor service and poor food. I had to visit three times (only restaurant near the hotel with Wife) and service and food was bad or mediocre at best on all 3 accounts. Horrible Denny's! read more

Well, came in with a party of 6. The table still had sugar and jelly on it and the chairs. She made us pass down our drinks instead of delivering them to their owners. Same thing happend with our meals. My girlfriends orange juice tasted like flavored water. I found a hair in my omelette. We never got straws. Considered picking up one from the all the trash on the floor below us. There was no sugar in our caddys. No silverware at our table, so once we got our sugar from a different table we had nothing to stir with. Over all very upset. Don't plan to return. Don't recommend you take your families here... read more

Came here because Philly diner was sad. We were greeted and sat right away. Kathy, the server, was great. She had a few tables but managed everyone smoothly and with a great attitude. read more

Food and service was good. Prices were reasonable. We fed 10 people including kids for $100. Not too bad if you ask me.

Fantastic food! Affordable pricing for kids and seniors. We stayed at Red Roof in which is right next to this place. So is Motel 6. Customer service was great also. Clean and friendly we saved a bundle sharing food between family. The fact they were open 24 7 meant we were all over there all hours of the day and night. Some of my family work graves and this was fantastic for them b/c they weren't hungry during traditional 9-5 hours. Always open, always friendly, veteran, senior, minority, family and kids friendly. 5 stars all the way. If they can make all my family happy then they rate the 5 easily. read more

I would rather chow down on some dog food before suffering with this disgusting place again. 20 mins for taking order and another 30 mins for my food to arrive. It looking like someone sat on my food while my coffee glass still had some lipstick marks on it. I just wanted to pay and walk out only to find myself waiting for 30 mins to pay the bill. Horrific attitude from the staff just not a pleasant place to be let alone eat in. read more

We waited an hour for our food and only got after I went to a manager. Our server didn't check in with us while waiting for the food. We thought that maybe they were short or backed up in the kitchen, but when the food came, things that were supposed to be hot were barely warm. Another server in our area sat down for at least ten minutes with.a table of customers, while we sat wondering where our server was. Terribly poor customer service. read more

I usually come to this Denny's and I get a nice hot meal, but today the kitchen and service is off.....way off. My eggs were cold and I couldn't find our server for a coffee refill. My husband's pancakes were not fresh and we waited longer than usual and the restaurant barely had anyone in it. read more

I tried not to go by the ratings but this place is not good. The minute we got a table we had a dead roach on our table. By then I wanted to leave.. I tried to give them the benefit of the count but even the dish man looked homeless. Hash browns looked raw & cold.. practically left my food I was disgusted. I'm sorry but I have rather ate mc Donald's breakfast and would've enjoyed it wayyyyyy better! Don' read more

It will not let me give less than one star. This place is the worst. I have been to Denny's all across this country and this one is the WORST. The service is atrocious at best. The " people " are ??? I will die before I ever set foot in this place again. UNBELIEVABLE. DID I SAY IT IS THE WORST DENNY'S I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We ordered and our waitress, Kathy, was nice and attentive. Another waitress came and said she was taking over for Kathy and brought us our food. My kids food was missing the bananas ( which after asking and them going to the kitchen to check they came back and said they were out of bananas, fine okay) also missing bacon which we had to ask for. Then my California club sandwich was missing avocados, which they said they were out of (HELLO, could you have mentioned that when we ordered??!). Food was below average, honestly the worst Denny's I've been to. Get it together*eyeroll* read more

First time at a DENNYS YAAAAAAAS!!! I loved it! The food is delicious, the staff is soooo nice, it feels like talking to your cousins and aunts, they were very warm and because my sister brought baby Jordan ( 1 month old) they change the temperature so the service itself was beyond, the portions are great and also the food, I'm starving just to think of it ahhaa plus if you're having an early flight it's 5m away from airport and there's a hotel next to it :) read more

I think a solid two is very fitting of this Denny's. This review is based more on the service than anything, which makes up a large part of dining out. On this particular day, the service or lack there of was basically appalling for a Denny's. I ended up here on a Friday afternoon for a relatively quick bite while in between meetings in the area...well, mistake on my end. I first walk in to a line formed and a hostess that seemed to have too much going on from talking with the other waitresses behind the counter to checking her cell phone. Once I finally put my name down I was able to be sat in about 15 minutes. Once I got sat the issues continued. While my waitress was nice, she was inefficient and not very attentive. I saw her two times the entire meal, once to take my whole order and once to deliver my food. I had to chase my check down once I was finished. To wrap up, I head to the counter to pay and leave only to be met with a 10 minute wait to pay my tab. Overall, it was a sad display of service from a chain that doesn't have the bar set all that high, so for me to give this location a 2 is in terms, sad. When in the area again for whatever reason, I may just opt for a hot dog from the nearby gas station rather than eating here. read more

I've been here many times over the past 5 years. It is pretty much as you'd expect from a Denny's. I've never had to wait long periods of time for service or food as other people have written about. I'd say this is one of the nicer Denny's I've been to in terms of cleanness. They are sometimes slow bringing the bill but never with the food or drink refills. I've mostly gone at night time but a couple of times in the afternoon. Never had any problems that I recall. Food is fair compared to other Denny's. I don't know why but the food here isn't as "good" as other Denny's. It doesn't seem as fresh and as put together as other places. read more

Open 24 hours, saved some hungry folks after checking into hotel next door. Denny's is pretty consistent across the country and you know what you will get. The young man that served us went out of his way to make sure we were well taken care of even though he was dealing with another table of very difficult customers read more

Who the closes a Denny's down at 5:30 am? My team and I are staying at the hotel next door and we eat breakfast at 5:30. It was open on the first day and closed for "kitchen work" the rest of the week. Denny's sucks. read more

The worst experience I've ever had. I was there for over an hour waiting on my food. I asked to speak to a manager but was told he was busy in the kitchen. I work in the restaurant industry and would never complain unless it is warranted. At my job, the whole tab would have been comped for such horrible service. But here they refused. They offered a slice of cheesecake which I didn't even want. Then I asked for change for a $20 to leave a tip and it took them about ten minutes to find change. Just the worst. If the server had even been apologetic I would understand, but she had no sense of urgency or care. read more

Following arrival to my hotel, an airline colleague and myself decided to visit this location for a very late night meal. At first glance the place seemed to be an average Denny's location. After waiting for more than 10 minutes we noticed that the waitress for our section was taking orders for three separate tables seated well after our arrival. As she passed our table I queried her as to why later arrivals were being served ahead of us. She commented that "white people have too much privilege" and how "that shit don't work up in here!" as she bustled past and continued grumbling into the kitchen. This is where I should have made a prompt exit, but I was hungry, and not in the mood to be run off because of my race (the only two white people in the place). The food did arrive eventually but took far longer than it should have which I'm sure was directly linked to the waitresses earlier comments. Both orders were incorrect but we decided that it wouldn't be worth the drama, or garnish of saliva, to request the order be corrected. As we were finishing our meal one of the tables nearby who appeared to know the waitresses started to heckle us, being professionals we ignored them which seemed to agitate the the mostly male group. The comments were racial in nature and while the waitress didn't directly join in she was laughing off to the side and had obviously instigated the situation. After paying the bill, we had the pleasure of being heckled by various individuals from a second table, and the waitress herself as we made our exit. This is an experience I'll be sure to share with the hotel front desk staff as well as thousands of airline employees via an internal system we use to rate hotels and restaurants on our various overnights. read more

Great service, very courteous staff, good prices. But the place needs to hire a full time janitor! Their bathrooms reek like urine has been spilled on the floor by the gallon! And they stink like the hippo cage at the zoo! Also- the dining room is filthy and even the menus are sticky! Yecck! read more

I recently ate there. I had the fish and chips. I didnt think at the time, but being that I have a shellfish allergy, that the fish would be cooked in the same fryer oil as the fried shrimp. Well, with my allergy I scratched all night. Good thing I didnt have any breathing problems! My fault, or theirs, I dont know. I just wanted to make you yelpers aware. read more

Friendly staff...but they are always short handed which makes service slow...the kitchen is incredibly slow and food always has an issue...over cooked..under cooked...it's rare I ever go here and have a seamless experience. Needs better management and a better kitchen staff. It's a shame because this Dennys is very convenient for me and I enjoy the food when it's prepared correctly. I've also gotten sick a few times from the food. I try to avoid this one and go to the one on Baltimore pike. read more

Came here for dinner since we were short on time and it was close to our hotel. I decided to order the Fit Slam - egg whites with spinach and tomato, fresh fruit, turkey bacon and an English muffin. When our server brought our food he said he would be right back with my English muffin. Well my English muffin never showed up. I let the guy at the register know this and he said that he would take it off my bill but when he did nothing came off because it was part of the meal. He didn't even offer to just take a percentage off for the inconvenience. read more
