If for no other reason, come to meet and be served by Maria. She is a very sweet energizer bunny who took great care of us and has pride in great guest service. The inside is spacious and comfortable. Surprise surprise we enjoyed all our dishes! Mom had the huge salmon salad and devoured it. Dad had stake and with wakey fries - cleaned his plate. I go here to eat with my church usually once or twice a month. The food is good, about what you would expect for a Denny's. We get seated in the back room which is comfortable for our large party. But by far, the best thing is the service. Our server, Juan V, always provides us with excellent service throughout all of our visits. He is always super helpful and attentive. Such a busy place for breakfast and lunch ! Breakfast is always my favorite meal at Denny's. Today, feeling decadent, I ordered the Strawberry Vanilla Crepe ($13.99) with an extra crepe ($1.40) for good measure. And fresh hot coffee, too. That's the ticket. The eggs were exactly as ordered, over easy, and two slices of bacon (in lieu of sausages). The hashbrowns were a little undercooked, but acceptable. A fabulous meal ! The management at this location should be ashamed for allowing customers to bring pets (dogs) into the restaurants. They are not service dogs that I'm talking about. The dogs I've seen in this restaurant are mixed bread mutts. They are taking over this restaurant and it's disgusting. After being bit on the ankle while waiting in line to pay for my meal, I asked the manager why are there dogs permitted in the restaurant? I also told the manager that the customer's pet had just bitten me. The manager stated because customers say they are emotional support animals. Only after I urged the manager to ask the customer who brought the animal if his dog was indeed a service dog. What do you know? It turns out it's not. It's just a pet! Only after I made a complaint about being bitten, the manager asks the man and his dog to leave the restaurant. If you have a well trained service animal that is one thing. Real service animals are well behaved, they don't bite or lick innocent strangers! I've seen dogs at this restaurant on other occasions too. This is not unusual to see animals in the restaurant here. Management seems to not care to regulate what animals are allowed in this restaurant. Came here for breakfast at got bit by a customer's emotional support animal. They should have a beware of dogs plaque attached to their front door. read more

Myself and my son went to this Denny's on Navajo Road and Fletcher parkway!!! The server was horrible...she had a bad attitude and rushed thru taking orders like a robot. When she brought out our food it was cold.....we do not like to complain as that interrupts the whole meal. Good thing as Maria never checked back. Veterans Day - I'm a disabled veteran and I went to see if I could get the veterans special at Denny's on Navajo Road. I sat at the counter and when the waiter came I showed my VA card and asked if I could get the special. He looked at my card and he said that I couldn't get it because I was too old, and then he laughed at me. I got up and walked out the door and he laughed at me the whole way. Hadn't been to a Denny's in a long time, but I was Jonesn' for one some eggs over easy, some fried potatoes with ketchup and a couple slices of bacon. It was easy to get just that and everything was I would say "just a bit." What I mean by that is that the potatoes were just a bit undercooked. Not terrible but another few minutes would've helped them a lot. The bacon was just a bit flavorless and tough.. Again not terrible. Just not inspiring. The eggs over easy were just a bit tough. But the Heinz ketchup was just right. The tab was very low --only $7.88 for all that and there were more potatoes than I could eat. (Or wanted to eat.) But I think a person would be better off to spend a few dollars more and get something that you really walked away feeling good about. We go to Denny's mostly for the service. Not even kidding. Maria is the best waitress ever! She has been at this location since 1994. I don't even need to ask for what I want. Honestly Disgusted Today is my grandmothers 66th birthday, she was very Excited to go out to eat to get breakfast but came home emotionally exhausted and upset with how she was treated. Maria S gave her an extremely hard time, made her feel insignificant and as if she was nothing but a bother. Although Denny's patty melt is no longer on the menu, they will make it for you, you just have to ask. I ordered it with a side of onions rings in lieu of the typical french fries. The patty melts was quite traditional and came served on toasted rye bread, with grilled onions, American and Swiss cheese, and a hand press beef patty. I added pickles because that is the way I roll. The beef of the patty melt was well cooked and juicy, but the meat could of used some seasoning, so a added a bit of salt and a good amount of black pepper. The rye bread had a good buttery golden brown toast and a good crunch. The two cheese were well melted and tasted good, but the red onions were not sauteed appropriately as they should be for a proper patty melt. They were basically still raw and not rendered down as I was told they would be. Adding the pickles was a good call. They added a nice little crunch and a bit a sourness to the patty melt. The onions rings were, a little greasy, but tasted good and had a very good crunch. They were no doubt of the frozen variety, but they filled the need for a good side. I ate them with some Cholula bottled hot sauce. Service was okay. They took my order, brought my food over, and then brought me my bill when I asked for it. I paid at the counter and that was it! I've been coming here as a customer off and on over the years and today I decided to get some breakfast and it appears they have new staff that I have not seen in a while and all I asked was is everything I ordered in the Box because I had take out today and the cashier was rude and so was the server they just looked at me and said sure just go look I looked make sure all my food was there since I did pay for it I got complete rudeness I always have to look at your food to make sure it's there because there's been times when I've ordered ice cream and it was melted or I've had missing items in my order I always get take out so I give them two thumbs down today on the service but the food was great this is the Denny's next to the hotel Days Inn in the Starbucks on Mollison and El Cajon read more

I asked for coffee, the server was like "How old r u" and I replied with my age and he was like ur too young. My mom responds with "They'll have someone coffee thanks!" And server continued to argue and later when I asked for another one he kept mentioning how he would never allow his kids to do so. We visited my favorite Denny's for my 89th birthday. Eight family members and myself. I want to especially thank Jose, long time friend and best server in the world. He makes sure you get exactly what you want and the way you want it. As usual everything was delicious and I don't think there was a problem with anything. We do on a Wednesday. Not to crazy. Our server Juan took an extra amount of time to get to us. We ordered food. Not only did it take 10 min for WATER, it took 30 minutes to get our food. Only after Juan served the food to my group does he inform me that they didn't have what I ordered. AFTER EVERYONE GOT THEIR FOOD!!! He asked if I wanted something else.
