Kids menu
Vincent N.

My local Denny's to redeem my kids meal for the summer reading from the local library. I purposely came for dinner to avoid the crowds and yeah it wasn't busy but there were still a few other tables. The front person seems to double as the hostess and waitress for me. Definitely not the quickest service but if you have some time, which I did, not really a problem. I mean it's not like it's a snails pace either, seemed like they were moving as quick as they could. Food here is about as you'd expect, the classic American diner, mostly breakfast items but for dinner and probably breakfast time too, there's a host of other American items so you don't have to necessarily get breakfast here. Plenty of options for pretty much anyone. Maybe not as much vegetarian or vegan options though. Parking is easy in the shared lot right outside the place. Park on the west side if you can as that's where the entrance is, but there's parking on the other side close to Sonic too, just a short trek to get to the other side to enter.

Fried chicken with mini-burgers

The Alaska salmon rice dish was nothing special regarding the salmon; the rice had a mixed texture--some grains were on the harder side--but it was acceptable to me. The broccoli was boiled. There was also a fried chicken dish served with two mini burger buns; the quality was average. The service was good, and I was able to sit and relax without being rushed out.

On this visit the food was what's expected at Dennys but the service was terrible. So I'm giving 3 stars because of the bad service. Once the girl brought our food to the table, she never once came to check on us. Not even to bring the bill. We finally had to get up and go to the register to get our bill.

Food

José was a really great server had the couple in the corner having a good time (shows in the video) very nice ambiance before we started causing a ruckus. (sorry Jose) food was as expected. (good )

Great parking! Great service! Great food! We came on a Saturday morning and were surprised to be seated right away and given excellent service.

The place itself is cozy, with a comfortable atmosphere that makes it a great spot to relax, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy some time to yourself. It has such a nice vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer rather than just grab your order and leave. The coffee was absolutely delicious, and the food was just as amazing! You can tell they put care into what they serve, and everything made the experience even better. It's always a plus when a place has both great drinks and good food because it makes you want to come back and try more of their menu. On top of that, the excellent service really makes this place stand out. Overall, this is definitely a spot I would recommend to anyone looking for great coffee, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere. Whether you're stopping by for your morning coffee, meeting up with friends, or looking for a relaxing place to enjoy a meal, this place checks all the boxes. I had a wonderful experience and would absolutely come back again!

Madres Brunch (est 2025) is a new breakfast/brunch spot tucked in the middle of Old town Monrovia. They have 7 other locations throughout SoCal and a great addition to the neighborhood. It's interior design is modern with huge wall decorated with neon signs and colorful art work. Similarly, they have a welcoming atmosphere and attentive service staff. We came here late Sunday morning to grab breakfast. Its surprising that we did not wait and sat immediately. But it got busy by the time we left. Their food and drink menu was compendious with pink bold fonts and heart emoji. Food was a mixture of American and Mexican flavor. I personally find some of the food names funny such as "Divorciados" lol. One could imagine what it was. And no I did not order it. I had something more healthy meal--Salmon toast x salad and House blend coffee. Brioche toasts were thick, delightful and tasty but the salmon was dry and thin. Coffee was terrific. Luz, a young female service staff with beautiful blue almond eyes, was attentive and nice. Prices were fair for the area and reflects the food portion. Plenty of public parking lot in the surrounding area. Overall, I enjoyed having breakfast at MB and will come back again in a not too distant future. ;D I recommend you visit.

We sat at a table by the front window facing the main drag. The area definitely has an old town feel with many restaurants and shops up and down the street. There is also a park right across the street. There is plenty of parking around the corner on the street and in a nearby lot. I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

Clearly I wanted to like it so bad that I came back five times because I had a wishlist of five food items I wanted to try. However, each time unfortunately just got progressively more disappointing. My first time here, I had the shrimp tacos which were good but very small. I also had a Jasmine Refresher, which was delightful! My second time, I had the pesto chicken sandwich which was also pretty good but nothing to crave or write home about. My partner and I also shared some poutine which was soggy, and glued together by a blanket of cheese. Someone might like that but it was ultimately disappointing to me. Additionally, the service was slow but I was forgiving because it was lunchtime. My third time, I came late with my partner and sister. This time, was not overly busy, but the service was even slower. I had the spinach and artichoke grilled cheese that I had super high hopes for. It was really greasy and again, nothing to write home about. It might just not have been what I was expecting. My fourth time, I shared street tacos and a soup & salad with my partner. Again, tacos were tiny and greasy. They were also made with one corn tortilla each? Y'all know if you're using tiny baby corn tortillas, you need two or it's gonna rip. The salad was fine. The soup was like a mystery vegetable situation with cheese. I still don't remember what it was. Tonight, my final time, I finally tried their The State burger. The bottom bun was wet. My friend got their maple glazed chicken with risotto which she said was salty and she opted not to take leftovers home. We both got the Girl Next Door cocktails which were fine. I was feeling gooooood. So, I've finally come to the ultimate conclusion that this place is more about their drinks and the chill, intimate (albeit kinda dark and slow sometimes) ambiance. I don't know how this one compares to other locations but it ultimately feels like someone had the IDEAS of gourmet food, but they just can't execute it. I wouldn't say people should never come here... only that Basin 141 down the street is similar, more casual, and seems to know how to execute so be a regular there instead. Sorryyyyy.
