What a cute classic diner feel!!!…read more Of course I had to bring my geriatric ahhhh father here, I knew it would be up his alley. We sat ourselves & sat at a booth by the entrance. They also have bar counter style seating as well. He ordered an omelet while I ordered their French toast combo. Something classic. I haven't had French toast in quite some time. The waitress was very sweet, and made sure we had everything that we needed. She kept my dad's coffee cup full and he LOVES their coffee. My dad is so picky, so I was happy to hear he actually enjoyed the food and coffee from this spot. The portions are generous, we had some leftovers to take home. Quality was pretty good as well. Nothing felt like it was fake or something idk. I guess there's a driveway for an entrance and exit they're separate apparently because I was "exiting" through the entrance. The menu is pretty big so I'm sure there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Would have been better bringing my own bottle of Mrs. Butterworth. Service was weird and bad. Nobody came to greet us and offer water and take drink order for at least 5 minutes after seating. The servers, although polite, were not very friendly, quiet, not warm. The girl who brought out our food was creepy and quiet and barely spoke. Did not bring us utensils with food. My husband had to steal the utensils off the next table. The people working there don't seem happy. No music playing. The place is oddly quiet and dead, could only hear some conversations from nearby tables. Large tv playing Bob's Burgers just felt very empty and dead, no life. Almost $4 for a cup of coffee and they bring out the little mini moo creamers that have chemicals in them. I asked the server for some whole milk instead and it took forever to come. Save your money and time and just go to Eat At Joes in Redondo. That place actually has life and they know how to run a business.

I love the music they play. I am so sick of elevator music and they don't do that. I really enjoy that. All of their food is great, but I am hooked on their salads. Their Sartori Caesar is one of my favorites. It has super fresh crisp romaine hearts with freshly grated parmesan cheese, sourdough croutons and house-made Caesar dressing. I love the dressing. Their Big Newport Wedge is better than most is has the best iceberg wedge topped with applewood smoked bacon, balsamic red onion, tomato and a great blue cheese dressing. All the food is great and we eat more than just salad, but their salad is a stand out.

It's one of those dishes that feels indulgent in the best way. The restaurant has a relaxed, casual feel, and the service was impressively fast without losing any attention to detail. The tempting baked goods were spectacularly displayed, comparable to Kings Hawaiian, but not as particular as Canter's Deli for comparison. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast which was absolutely wonderful. My good friend had the French Dip Sandwich. Maybe I'll order it on my next visit. :) However, After we walked in the door and arrived at the host stand, the "greeter" stood expressionless, saying nothing... no smile no, "Welcome to Hof's Hut" ... nothing, and began walking slowly towards the seating area. When we arrived at our table, he laid the menus down, and walked away, still saying nothing, with a stern look on his face. -But I was not going to let this spoil my experience. The waiter was aggressive with his up-selling, and that's okay, he was pleasant and very professional. One of my pet peeves when visiting a restaurant is when the waiter assumes that as a Black person visiting a restaurant with a White companion is when the waiter treats the white actor as the important one at the table, and takes their order first, and when the check arrives, hands the check to the white patron at the table. I was picking up the tab on this visit, so my friend reached across the table in front of the waiter and handed the check to me. As I said, it's a pet peeve, and nothing to get emotional about, this action in no way assumes that there was anything approaching bias, prejudice or anything more serious on the part of the Hof's Hut staff... It's just the way it is.
