Everything is great until paying in the register. We are 3rd in line, no big deal but when you have 2 cashier supposedly pulling the line , both Amy And the other one wa just talking. Ok before anyone says "Who goes to a breakfast spot for dinner?" I just want to point out, if it's on the menu, then it needs to hold up to the standards of good quality food. Now for breakfast, this Denny's is my number one go to breakfast spot in all of Carson. When ordering the grand slam, the eggs and bacon are cooked perfectly, and the pancakes are not soggy in the middle (comparing this to norms and ihop who can't cook pancakes or eggs). Above all the diner style drip coffee is always excellent. It's not bitter, nor acidic. I can order 2 of these and not deal with acid reflux. I wish I could say the same when it comes to the breakfast burrito and their chicken fajitas (I don't remember the exact name but it has burbon style sauce, cooked bell peppers, mushrooms, and potatoes. Both times, I tried these via doordash, they are often undercooked to the point where i have to recook them in an effort to salvage the food. Otherwise, I have to toss it. All in all, Its a perfect breakfast spot. But stick to the breakfast menu. read more

As always great service and great food! When arrived this morning it was busy with the after church service rush. What I thought would be a long wait was not, thanks to Victoria and Rebecca. They both were very friendly, joyful and were on it. They continuously checked to see when tables where available and immediately were seating guest timely. As we were in our booth we observed Rebecca assisting the waitress with cleaning tables to help ensure tables were ready for the next guest. Observed her interacting with other guest inquiring if they needed anything. She had great eye contact, a welcoming smile. Her work ethics are exceptional! Joe and I were looking for a breakfast place near our hotel. I went on Yelp and saw that there was a Denny's relatively closeby. He and I enjoy Denny's for breakfast, so we headed over. Outside of the restaurant, along the exterior walls, there were booths set up! I didn't know if the restaurant were doing some remodeling or if this were a holdover from Covid. We were seated indoors, right away. The seating configurations were strange. Our little booth around the corner right next to meal prep areas and the kitchen. Our waitress was on it. She was constantly refilling glasses, offering to go containers before we asked, and bringing the check without having to flag her down. Food was good, typical for Denny's. The music wasn't too loud. One of my favorite spots to eat in Carson. Always have gotten good service and good food .. Until now went to celebrate and from the beginning with our server we were not on the same vibe. It was a time to enjoy and be a little scatter brain.I was a little undecided on what to order and while i thought she was helping she decided to say things that did not belong or she over stepped . Starting she would cancel my order. Saying something about my husband was being more trying to be more American than hispanic for not liking jalepeños. His eggs were over done and he ordered french toast not pancakes. We saw her 1 time after receiving our food and never got refills until i went to the front and ask for more refills. Fast, friendly, fantastic food. We arrived after church hoping there wouldn't be a long wait. The hostess took down our name and told it was 15 to 20 minutes; nevertheless we only waited about 10 minutes!! The hostess that sat us was extremely friendly. My hubby and I decided to pay this location to visit on Saturday, April 6th around 2:00 pm. From our own personal experience, I can see why the dominant rating for this location is three stars. No from the outside It appears as if you would get a good experience on the inside. There was plenty of parking and what I found you need that there were booth seating areas outside if you wanted to eat and enjoy the air. Very clean and well kept. Upon walking in though I was instantly turned off. I've been to various Denny's locations and the music that would entertain their guest would be very professional and at a reasonable volume. I'm not sure how I would have felt if I was being accompanied by my mother whom I have a lot of respect for or children that I try my best to set a good example for instead of my husband. They were playing a song by a group called Silk entitled "Freak Me". Not to mention another song on the playlist by a group called 112 entitled "Peaches and Cream". These song titles give a very clear description of sexual activity. Those are the most awful songs to play for guest that are trying to enjoy a meal of different ages. I was very uncomfortable and I not only didn't appreciate the music but also at the unprofessional volume it was played at by a speaker that sat on top of the drink dispensers. Maria, who was our waiter at that time was polite and overly informative. I asked her about the music, who's playing it and shared with her that I felt it was unprofessional. There was an attempt to change the playlist but the music was still loud. I felt that Maria was a bit over informative because I ordered egg whites and my husband ordered eggs sunny side up. When I agreed to have a couple of vegetables chopped up with my egg whites she started to ask my husband if he wanted the same and when he said no she asked if he was sure and it almost felt as though she kept harassing him about it. When she brought me my egg whites they wasn't all that great there was extra money and the egg whites didn't have any flavor so I wasn't sure what the big deal was. I didn't want to waste my husband's dime so I went ahead and tried to enjoy the meal the best way I knew how. The reason I decided to give this location four stars is because of Maria and her service. The only thought I left with was, I personally see Carson as an upscale and upgraded city. I expected a little bit more from eateries when I travel that way and so this turn out to be a huge disappointment. I don't think I will be returning because when I go out to eat I'm not looking to have the ambience of a club but somewhere to relax and enjoy my meal especially when I'm with my husband. read more
