5* for their private party room. The room is pretty big. We had 16 people in our party tonight. After everyone sat down, the room was still kind of spacious. We enjoyed our time a lot! Another good thing is that they don't have minimum charge for booking the room! Highly recommend if you are hosting a family event and want a private party! read more

I want to thank our server Charlie for being awesome and attentive. I was recently there with my family. I'm not from that area. We were on vacation from Las Vegas and we stopped there for breakfast. It was a full house but Charlie made sure that we felt well taken care. We will sure come back. read more

It has been a while since I tried Denny's but I was getting my car serviced at Honda and figured that I might as well sit and eat somewhere so I walked over. No wait today and OMG was my omelette salivating! I could not believe how good it was, I've never had an omelette taste this good. It had the sausage, bacon, mushrooms, onions but I asked for caramelized topped with avocado and pico de Gallo on the side. Thank you again and I hope this review gets to be viewed by the cook. You are awesome! Just know that! read more

Always great coming here. Guadalupe gives the best service and makes sure the food comes and quick and tastes great!!

My fiancè wanted to substitute toast and hash browns for fruit which was $2.00 extra. Why? There is literally a ten cent difference between hash browns and fruit and she is giving up two items for one. They finally said ok after speaking to the manager. I wanted to do the same and was told no substitutions which on the menu some items say that, but mine was not. I told the server we literally had this conversation less than a minute ago and she would not do it. Same people same table. So we went to Shakers in Pasadena which honestly has way better food but is much farther and coming from the gym we wanted something close. Shakers will substitute as many items at no charge. They have a bomb country fried steak, and their Michelada hit the spot for the Dennys induced hanger I was now experiencing. I'm sad Main Street Diner closed, but I am happy to go farther out for better food and service. So in conclusion...SCREW FLANDERS. I mean SCREW DENNYS. read more

Denny's has some good stuff here. By stuff I mean breakfast. But in the morning it's very slow and I'm by so I mean the service. There's only one waitress. She is kind though. The workers here are friendly and nice. I Food here is good. They have a wide variety, most of it looks very delicious and hopefully taste good too. The pancakes here are supposed to be buttermilk, but do not have any butter milk flavor to them at all. They are big though and have a scoop of butter whipped butter I believe which taste pretty good on it. Hashbrowns taste good here with ketchup. For some reason the water tastes amazing I mean it's just regular water but with ice it taste so good to me. So if you're looking for a nice family night out and want some food come to Denny's stop by and order whatever you want to have a good time. read more

20 minute wait to be seated. 15 minutes to get an order in. 20-30 minutes to get the food and another 10 just to get some condiments to eat our food. Came here to get some breakfast and it didn't seem busy at all. We came in and no one looked our way. A waitress walked straight by us without acknowledging us....we finally saw the manager and he said he'll have us seated soon. People started to line up behind us. And then once it was at the door someone comes up and finally seats us....I believe maybe they were short staff? They had a guy running back and fourth and he took awhile to get to us. When we got our order in my friend got his drink and I was drink less just waiting for my hot chocolate that wasn't even fully stirred (see picture). It came 5 minutes before the food finally arrived. And wow the food was cold and look extremely unappetizing. The warmest thing on the plate was the ketchup that I poured down for my eggs. It was as if the food was just sitting there waiting to be delivered :c I got French toast and guess what.....they were cold my syrup that I poured was warmer. The bread tasted stale and there wasn't any butter or powered sugar on it just straight out bread slices. My friend got a skillet and it wasn't even popping the skillet it was guess what.... cold. I wouldn't recommend coming back to THIS dennys I'm sure there are better ones. Plus other restaurants on main that serve better food. Goodluck! read more

Wasn't a fan. Pros - Girl at the register was nice and pleasant. Cons - No toilet paper in the stall. One of the two automatic soap dispensers in the restroom needed a refill. Only saw my server three times - ordering drinks, ordering food, getting check. Food was alright and nothing special. Not a pro or a con. I wish there were waffles on the kids menu. read more

Been coming here for years , excellent service our server Laura always very friendly and has our order memorized.

Friendly and great server Lupe was our server and she was super nice and attentive. Very charming! Thank you!

We have been to this location a couple of times, service is horrible here, we had to wait for our waitress 30 minutes so she could take our order, and another 40 minutes for our food despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy at all, and once they brought our drinks the coffee cup had lipstick on it like it was not washed properly, after this incident we're not going back to this location the service is not good at all. read more

I just stopped by and was asked if I could sit at the counter. I asked the waitress if I could sit in a booth. The waitress said none were available. I looked in the dining area and counted 4 open booths. I walked out and went down the street to Diner on Main and got seated right away. read more

Oh no, not again. Not ANOTHER stinky Denny's!? Yes, ANOTHER foul-smelling Denny's. My wife and I walked in just now, to redeem my birthday breakfast, and immediately were hit with the stench of a fish market. I believe, truly, this is the very last time I ever try a different Denny's. The ONLY good, reliable, friendly Denny's is at 3740 S. Crenshaw Blvd. read more

Dennys makes a MEAN hamburger. I got a build-your-own with bourbon sauce, mayo and American cheese and it was a tangy/sweet delicious combination. They put it on 7-grain bread because they happened to be out of multigrain buns at the time. I suggest trying this combination because it was one of the better burgers I've ever had! Our local Denny's has not been doing so well in the service so it was quite refreshing to experience this denny's and their great service. Our waiter was Seph, he did really well making us feel comfortable and listening to what we wanted. We also had a moment since the earthquake happened while we were there and I know Seph not being from Cali was a little shook managed to get right back to attending everyone. Denny's - American Near Me - Alhambra, California

Terrible. Wish I could give 0 stars. Came here with my mother and 4 year old. Waited for about 1hr 45mins for food. They kept apologizing saying that a city inspector had come and delayed their cooking (which is understandable) but everyone including people who were seated before and after me had gotten their food and left before we ever got served. All that plus you can smell the plumbing outside. DO NOT EAT HERE read more

They have a new lasagna that was actually pretty good I just had it but the real reason for the review is our server. She was on top of everything all while being by herself. She was also very kind and genuine I wish I got her name but she was blonde? Anyways came on here to give credit where credit is due read more

Originally my boyfriend and I wanted to have dinner at Alondra's however it was about a 30-35 minute wait and I really didn't feel like waiting so we just decided to walk down the street. I didn't really know what I wanted to eat so for convenience stake we just settled for Denny's. I didn't even know they got such low ratings and well quite frankly I didn't have high expectations - it is Denny's after all - it's not like they are known for gourmet food and fantastic service - so for me two star is pretty sad - given they are just a regular chain diner. Well with that said - my experience wasn't that terrible - the service was okay - the host was nice and we asked him about the check-in free dessert and he told us it was some kind of Strawberry hush puppy sundae - all we had to do was order it from the waiter and he will take it off our bill in the end. Well somehow he turned out to be our waiter too cause our waiter didn't come around and well besides bringing us the food I don't even think I know who our waiter was. The waiter never checked on us but the host did..so I suppose the service - even though we never really saw or spoke to the waiter - was okay - at least we did get our orders taken and the food came so there's that much. The food was okay too - I had the Veggie Omelette with English muffin, hash brown and I added a side of hearty breakfast sausage. The omelette was alright - they gave a lot more zucchini then I would have liked - the hash brown was good - crispy and I liked the side sausage that I ordered. My boyfriend had the Chicken skillet dinner entree - chicken was okay but the veggies was very bland. and then we had that Strawberry Hush Puppy Sundae for free which was pretty good. Overall I guess I didn't think it was terrible because I didn't expect much to begin with - so I wasn't very disappointed with what I experienced. Everything was really just okay. read more

Don't come for the food, don't come for the service, don't even come if you're hung over. PLEASE PLEASE come and see the head chef, cracks me up every time. LOVE that guy! You'll know when you see him... It's a dennys, america's favorite place to go at 2:30am to get your post bar food. Those moons over my hammy sammiches, those chicken fried steak skillets, those... what the hell is all of this fit this and fit that. I felt like I went to curves last time I was at denny's or was in one of the levels of inception the movie and leo's team were trying to implant the idea in my head that Denny's is now a healthy place to eat. Apparently Denny's is cleaning up their act, no longer are they serving stacks on stacks on stacks, but they're actually serving healthy portioned out food, macro's for the die hard IIFYM crowd are all on a sheet next to the menu. Is this real life? This review probably doesn't make sense if you haven't been HERE in particular, but have been to a dennys and wondering where the damn candy cane bacon shakes and all that stuff I was seeing on myspace back in the day is. Give me that menu any DAY But it had to be said, I will now take my hearty wheats, egg whites, cholula, and bacon strips and log them all into myfitnesspal. This is growing up. read more

Denny's - so healthy. - American Near Me - Alhambra, California

You know something isn't right when you go to Denny's during a Saturday evening and it's ABSOLUTELY EMPTY. The service is horrible. We weren't seated for about ten minutes (in an empty diner, mind you!) Then, when we did get seated, it took the waiter another ten minutes to mosey on over and ask if we were ready to order (didn't even ask if we wanted drinks or apps first...) Didn't check up on us ONCE, even when our cups needed to be refilled. When I did manage to flag down the waiter, it seemed as though I had greatly disturbed him, and took another ten minutes to bring us our drinks. Normally, I wouldn't mind if it were busy... but there were only two other patrons! That, and he basically told us we had to leave so he could clock out... I couldn't enjoy my dessert, and left it half finished. Head for the Hills! If it's terrible service you're searching for, then look no further than the Denny's on Main Street! Oh, and I just remembered, they don't honor the check-in offer!!! What a terrible Denny's location. Why even make the offer available?! read more

I think Denny's is generally a decent diner chain. For some reason, though, this Denny's is not up to snuff. Wife and I visited on their "Grand Re-Opening". They've renovated. It looks like the '70s lighting is back. (OK, the '70s lighting was never here because this one only opened about 10 years ago, but you get it.) They even sent me an e-mail announcing festivities and fun stuff going on. I get to the front door, and there's already a note apologizing for no special activities, but that they'd still honor the deals they were making. I had the Super Bird and Mrs. G had the Original Grand Slam. My Bird seemed kinda skimpy. A slice of turkey, slice of tomato, small slices of sourdough, lukewarm fries. With the Slam, she had to send back the sausage because it wasn't cooked through. Yuck. There are TV screens, but they only show closed circuit video advertising. There's a couple of other American diners down the street. I'd say give something else a try, unless it's late, then this is probably the only one open. read more

I was very disappointed today usually me and my dad come get a nice breakfast he usually gets the same thing gram slam it's a basic breakfast eggs, bacon ,potatoes, pancakes ,and it also comes with a glass of orange juice I got the country fried steak and eggs well first off they brought our drinks minus the orange juice then 35 minutes later the food cane potatoes were extra burnt the eggs were hard and the country fried steak looked like it was just old the sauce had already been Absorbed into the steak it was just sad I did not enjoy any of it and to top it off my girls food which was just a jr French toast came about 5 min after all our food had arrived it was eggs bacon and French toast small plate I feel like that should of been the first thing ready but anyway we are finally done got the check still waiting on the orange juice iliana hopefully we get better service next time read more

So disappointed! I took time to go to the location to get my free birthday slam. Got inside, & the worker told me that they don't honor it anymore. How is that possible!?!? I guess I should have peeked at the rating for this Denny's before coming here. I haven't been to a Denny's for years! Can't even remember the last time. I came down here to the Library to pick my mom up and we decided to eat here because we had a free burger and fries coupon. So, what the heck... we thought it couldn't be too bad. Wrong again... it was bad. Their service was super slow not to mention the attitude. It was lunch time and 3/4 of the entire place was empty. We ordered the (free) classic burger and fries and got their new Tilapia Ranchero and boy, was that fish FISHY. The photo on the menu looked great and the description also made my mouth water, but the real thing was anything but appetizing. It did not taste fresh. The mashed potatoes were kind of cold and I didn't not like the seasoning. As for the burger, the meat was so dry and so were the fries. I rather have In N Out's burger and fries! So, with the free burger and fries, the damage done was still around $15 for two(tips included). Not exactly a bargain. Don't come to this Denny's if you decide to go to Denny's. read more

Super packed & burning hot in here, why don't they turn on the A/C.. Ordered a milkshake hopefully it gets here soon & unmelted. Milkshake arrived and it was warm...not sure how they managed that. On to the food it was horrible, I have never been so dissatisfied with a meal. The server was very polite so I didn't want to complain. Food was horrible, restaurant was way to warm, the wait for table then for service just made no sense what so ever. Instead of feeling full and happy I left pissed and hungry......never again..uuggg now I'm getting pissed again. read more

Horrible. Went around 10 pm, empty diner but still waited 10 minutes to get seated. Once seated the waiter took forever to come take our order and even longer for our food to arrive. We finally got our food and one of our sandwiches was burned! Why would they even bother serving burned food? Of course I returned it. The waiter seemed bothered that I returned the food. He never came around to see if we needed refills. Bad service! I wouldn't mind if it were full but it was empty! read more

Sunday at 9am. Or so I thought. I somehow have cake on the mind. Normal cake last week, pancakes this week?! What's up with me?! LOL So from my craving of things ending in "cake" (please don't give me any more ideas my pants are getting tight), I decided to get pancakes (a hated food as a kid). Unless Denny's new recipe is that good, I think I processed some childhood anger or frustration against the bisquick I had as a kid. Go mental health! BYO Slam - eggs, over easy, bacon, sausage, hash browns pancakes Free sundae (yelp check-in) - chocolate, vanilla, Oreos, hot fudge. Chocolate ice cream, hot fudge and whipped cream. Strawberries and Cream Pancake Breakfast - Strawberries and whipped cream on pancakes with white chocolate chips. Scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage I don't have much to say, I mean, it is Denny's. Who hasn't had Denny's food? It's pretty consistent. The wait time was really short, which I'm sure everyone appreciates. If you're only craving pancakes, go for their $2 value menu, two pancakes for $2. That's the way that I'm going to go from now on.... read more
