Prices are great, but got a senior discount too! Coffee was good. I got a glass of milk and it truly was icy cold and good! My wife ordered a grapefruit mimosa and it's nice they give you a glass of juice with a split of champagne to mix. My wife and I got the eggs Benedict and cheese blintzes and split both. Both SO good! Hard to find places that serve blintzes, but you'll never find them this big and over the top good! Served with sour cream and a cup of strawberry sauce with chunks of strawberries in it!

First off too many non kitchen people touch your food with their bare hands...and not necessarily just my food, but everyone's food, there should be one designated person to run food, not people coming from the dining room and just touching food with their bare hands Had the steak and eggs for dinner, it was ok, eggs not cooked as I asked, but the surprise was a long hair in my food, that I didn't really make a big deal about, because I don't think this place will change their methods...I let the waiter know... The counter isn't a good option, because you can see and hear everything, and that kitchen talks a lot of inappropriate things. Especially the lady. And at one point she was leaning on the counter picking her ears, I did mention it to my waiter. Because I was hoping she wasn't going to be the one cooking my food. The service was great, nice young man that's very pleasant. But I think the worse was the sourdough bread, very very low quality white bread basically...$30 (with tip) should be decent. I won't be back for a long time...

Prices also seem pretty reasonable. My first time here I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with house potatoes and chili. It also came with two eggs and their famous banana bread. The corned beef hash was decent and very filling, but it was a little salty for me and I would've liked more crispy bits. The famous banana bread was decent too, but a little dry. My second time here I got the Machaca Egg Scramble, which came with tortillas. It was good, but I felt like it could've used a little more flavor or some salsa to go with it. Overall, I feel like the food here is decent but nothing really stood out to me. It's a solid spot to grab brunch with reasonable prices and quick service. I'd come back if someone suggested it, but probably not somewhere I'd personally seek out.

The staff there was hustling and moving non stop but were very friendly and accomodating. Nick's has a great classic diner ambiance. We got seated inside which was all bar seating. The lively atmosphere inside makes you feel like you're part of the kitchen, which I liked. They also had all these great vintage photos, art and merch hanging on their walls which really added some personality. They also have outside seating and tables that face spring street and the side of LA historic park. Now on to the food. We ordered the Eggs and Steak with a side of hashbrowns and toast, 1st Street Omelette with a side of hash browns and a biscuit, a grilled blueberry muffin and some coffee. Everything was pretty good, especially that grilled muffin. Also, make sure you ask for some house made blueberry jam for your toast or biscuit. You're welcome. They also have some great hot sauces to choose from. The only complaint we had was that the steak was over seasoned with salt that we had to scrape off the top. Other than that, the food was delicious, comforting, and hit the spot. We would definitely come back to try more of their popular menu items.

The pies are good too, but it must be known that this place does indeed provide the highest caliber of whipped cream available to the people of Pasadena. However, the restaurant was still only half full the entire time we were there. Food came out very slow but the service staff was very apologetic and provided above and beyond service to make up for the slow service! It was greatly appreciated! Kitchen staff dropped the ball on multiple fronts tonight but I still have them 4 stars, here's why. I ordered a double smokey burger. This took the longest to arrive, probably 20-25 mins after ordering. It's suppose to come with BBQ ranch sauce but when I bit into the burger, I didn't taste any sweetness as expected of BBQ sauce. Took a second and confirmed, yup no sauce was included. I got in line and waited patiently for the cashier to ask for the sauce. She was very apologetic again and quickly brought a helping of the BBQ ranch sauce to our table. With the sauce this burger is perfection!!! The bacon was perfectly crispy! I mean like crispy chips without being hard. The patty was still piping hot even after we ate half way thru!! Buns were nicely toasted. The rocket, well according to the receipt we ordered the original although we had asked for the rocket. Guess we'll just have to go back another day to try that secret sauce! The original burger comes with mustard, relish, and pickles. Overall I loved it but I think there was too much mustard that made the burger eat very acidic, too acidic for me. Still a banger! Tots were delicious!! With grilled onions added really elevated the dish!!! The kitchen originally forgot the grilled onions (which was an extra $1.19) service staff again was very apologetic and brought the grilled onions on a separate plate after. We got a chocolate chip cookie on the house too make up for the inconveniences tonight. If I wasn't going to Handel's right after I would've opted for a complimentary shake instead. The cookie is more under baked, tasted like cookie dough but had an unpleasant taste. I took two nibbles and left the rest. I love the ambience! This place is nostalgic for us adults who grew up in the 90's!! No more chicken strips, instead they now offer chicken wings and chicken sandwiches! Fountain drinks self service with Pepsi products. There's also brewed tea available. I ran into a kitchen staff when I went to the restroom and found out that the other kitchen cook had actually burned her face somehow today. I don't know if it was earlier or while we were there but that could explain why the heavy delays with our food. They just weren't prepared to accommodate the higher foot traffic with Handel's grand opening. I'm rooting for them!! Excellent front of house service and excellent quality food!! Just chill and enjoy the vibes while you wait for your food.
